Best menudo I've had in years. Make sure you get it with the pig foot. They also have wonderful fresh made tortillas and Mexican sweet breads. More than reasonable prices and friendly service. This is worth making a trip for.

This visit was MUCH BETTER than last time. One of the waitresses even came by to apologize for the last time.I ordered Huevos Rancheros with 2 orders of bacon. Once again, the Huevos Rancheros plate is $5.95and each order of bacon comes with 2 slices and is $2 each. I did note this time that the prices had gone up, and also saw in the menu that the prices had gone up as well. Likely due to their rise in cost for the ingredients. I had a glass of milk as well.Everything came out hot & fresh, and the Huevos Rancheros plate came with flour or corn tortillas. I chose flour. Also, the plate came out in a timely manner - about 12-15 minutes and was perfect. Thank you La Casa for another great breakfast!

Great place to dine in, family friendly. Ordered to-go on their new website nd my order was ready right on time. Recommend the place to anyone who's looking for Mexican authentic food. Their new schedule is perfect for when coming out of work.

Local mom & pop gem in North Central. They serve breakfast all day on weekends, y pozole pa la cruda. The aguas frescas are made from scratch and the pan dulce is delicious!

This is truly a family-owned and operated cafe and bakery. Restaurant owner Trinidad is back in the kitchen/bakery; his wife is tending to the tables; and their son and daughter are working the register and greeting guests. It's a small team, but they're working hard. (Oh, and son and daughter are also continuing their education in college while also working at the family biz.). Like I said: Hard working family! Many know La Casa Bakery & Cafe for going twitter viral in 2017 (Google the heartwarming story); others know them for their homemade tortillas and barbacoa breakfast tacos. Me, my family, and our family friends now know them as "the place with the best campechanas!"Mexican campechanas are a puff pastry hailing from the Mexican state of Campeche. (Do not confuse this with Mexican seafood cocktail, also called "campechana.") So the puff pastry campechanas from La Casa are the best in Houston. They're flaky, buttery, glazed with the perfect amount of sweet. And they don't lose their crunch after a few days (if they happen to last that long in my house.) I've placed at least three separate orders to take to family gatherings, and friends and family are always requesting more. "Pick up 20. Pick up 30..." Owner Trinidad has been working in the restaurant and panaderia scene for decades, and these recipes are his own. As for the breakfast plates, you can find plates for less than $5. That's insanely affordable. My last visit, the beau and I each had our own breakfast plates, then shared an order of pancakes for dessert. :)Do add this biz to your list to try. They recently made "Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in Texas" for 2021. Drop in for breakfast, enjoy the Mexican decor and homey vibes, and take home some pastries.Kudos to this biz for adding a hand wash station upon entry! I appreciate this touch of added safety during pandemic dining.

I came here for a Yelp elite perk. Parking is limited but is doable. I had already decided to eat here before arriving, when entering I saw a register to my right and baked sweet breads to my left. In front was a walk way to the main eating area. I stood there and waited to be seated for a few minutes and then asked a waiter for a table and was told it's self seating. Picked a table and waited a few more minutes before getting a menu. I then realized there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant. The waiter I saw was running back-and-forth from the register to the kitchen getting to go orders. I decided to order the migas and add bacon. The time from order to receiving my food did take longer than I expected. Getting refills was also challenging because the waitress was busy trying to tend to all the tables. I kept my cool mainly because I could see her trying to do her best. The food itself was good. Very traditional flavors reminded me of my grandmas cooking. I do plan on coming back but hope there is more wait staff next time.

Came here for my Elite Perk and picked up a few extra items on the menu for a friend and myself . Similar to many others, I don't think I would have ever found this place if Yelp hadn't introduced it! My favorite items here were the breakfast taco and the queso pupusa. The breakfast taco was bursting with egg and cactus, so delicious! The flour tortilla was amazing as well and I enjoyed every bite. Pupusa was delightful as well and I would trek all the way back here just to get a few more of these. Wasn't as much a fan of the Pastor Taco as parts were fatty and parts were slightly dry. My friend enjoyed her barbacoa taco though! The churro was good, even better after toasting it in the oven and my friend loved hers too. However, we thought the other baked goods (pineapple empanada, concha) were just average. I would definitely come back for the breakfast tacos and pupusa! Check this place out if you're in the area :)

This is a cute breakfast spot - great food, great service! I got a potato & egg taco, coffee, and a concha. All were delicious! The potato & egg taco was stuffed full, and it came with a delightfully spicy salsa. The concha was perfectly soft and sweet. I got take-out, but the interior looked so cute. If you can, definitely stay and enjoy the restaurant.

Great place and food! I've had this place on my list for a while and finally had the chance to go. We visited on a Sunday for breakfast. We were sat right away and were able to order fairly quickly. It seems they have tons of to go orders and a few tables seemed to have waited a bit for their food. Nonetheless, our order didn't take very long and we had tasty fresh limeade to sip and chips and salsa to eat while we waited. Make sure you get some limeade, it was tasty and reminded me of the limeade my grandma used to make. We ordered a Desayuno Completa and Chilaquiles con huevo. Both were very good, but I think the chilaquiles were better! I'd definitely get them again. We got some conchas to go and glad we did. They were very big but they were tasty!Looking forward to our next visit!

Horrible. Service and all! We waited for nearly an hour to be served. The staff wasn't very friendly, and the food was subpar... not to mention, there were shells on the shrimp inside the quesadilla that was ordered for my children. Not sure how I missed the 5-star experience everyone else received, maybe it was because they claimed to be shutting down and really didn't care?!?!?
