I'm actually quite surprised that it has taken me this long to write a review for Kungfu Hotpot, as it easily and rapidly became our go-to hotpot spot in the area. It opened maybe a year or so ago and we've been frequenting since the beginning. It had hardly any growing pains and was great from the start. There aren't a TON of meat options, but the meats they do offer are good. You get a few specials depending on the size of your party whenever you go, including options like jumbo prawn, scallops, and arctic clam. We usually end up getting multiple rounds of the sashimi, which is shockingly fresh. The sauce bar is plentiful with everything standard you'd want. The app bar has a good amount of fish and vegetables beyond what you actually order. And the drinks are free with a ton of variety, which is great. The food comes quickly and the empty dishes are cleared even quicker. Parking can be a bit tricky, but that's the nature of Chinatown itself. We've never waited for a table but they do take reservations. And the price is great for what you're getting.

Food was good. Nice atmosphere. Decent food. I feel it was a bit pricy but they do give you lobsters and other stuff. I'd rather it be cheaper and not give those things for "free".Enjoyed the variety of drinks available in the fridgeDepending on when you come there can be a really long wait. The I've also heard about the smell of the elevator but they much have fixed that because it wasn't bad when I went. Maybe don't come on trash day.

Hotpot is AYCE for $33.99 per person. There is the sauces/condiments bar, fresh veggies you can get yourself. There are various meats & seafood to order off the iPad. You get your pick of broths too. They have desserts too & it comes with drinks - sodas, herbal teas etc. All the food items are fresh. Good service & good value. Weekday price is $33.99. Weekend price is $39.99. We will be back.

Very tasty hot pot place with great variety of items. On floor 3 for the elevator in the Cherry St alley. Good drink assortment that's included with the hot pot. Price for all you can eat includes lobster, crab, ribs, on top of the special proteins, so there is only the one price level. Other places may have 2 tiers for regular or premium but this only has 1 so be ready. Nice inside and the tables are big for all your plates and such. Staff good at bringing out more things for you or filling up broths. All the food trays were nicely kept and refilled when low. All the standard hot pot items veggies, noodles, fish balls, etc. The sauce cart was well stocked as well.

I've heard a lot about hot pot but didn't think it could be a worthwhile experience for me since I'm pescatarian-- I was so wrong. I LOVED this experience! First off, this spot is on the third floor so their entrance on Cherry St. is just an elevator. Upstairs, it's a big and bustling space. We came on a Friday night at 8:30pm for a pre-Lunar New Year parade dinner, and it was crowded because a lot of people had the same idea! We had a to wait a bit even though we had a reservation but we didn't mind because they had benches by the front. We got to pick two broths (we went with the spicy broth, tom yum) and since we were a group of three, we got a free lobster too. We ordered some other specialty seafood and meat to the table on a little paper sheet as well as on the iPad. We did order salmon sashimi and never received that unfortunately. We had to remind our server about some of the other things we ordered (they were swamped, to be fair), but we had more than enough food to eat. A highlight for me was the help yourself section towards the front. They have a ton of different vegetables, seasonings, sauces, fruit, and a fridge of great beverages that you can get at your leisure. Like I said, we had more than enough food to eat!Pricing was $39 for the AYCE, and total per person came out to around $53 with tax and tip. Quick Recommendations (from my first hotpot experience):- the spicy broth gets spicier as you use more, and even with added water, the flavor got a little overwhelming by the end of it- be prepared to google cooking times for the seafood, they don't provide recommendations so it's really on you- wear clothes you can wash easily in the event of spills and also smell (because the sauce can be potent)

Delicious hot pot! Love that I can get my own vegetables, drinks and seafood, sauces and more. You can also order off an iPad which you have tons of selections of meats and cooked food. You also get a whole lobster for every 3 guest, and specialty selections. we came out more than full. Service was attentive and friendly, places was packed, so I would also recommend making reservations or getting on the yelp waitlist. Definitely recommend.

Honestly a great deal for decent hotpot. The wait can be a bit long. There's nothing specifically wrong with it to make it 4 instead of 5 stars, but it's not "knock-your-socks-off" amazing. I'll likely be back at some point, but won't be rushing back.

This has got to be the best hot pot establishment in Philly (if anyone knows otherwise, feel free to message me). The food is fresh, as plentiful as you wish, and easily accessible. It's setup where all meats are ordered via an iPad (as much as you want) and everything else is buffet-style, including the beverages, which is a pretty sweet deal. You can get as many packaged beverages as you want. It's a good time for $40 a person. Highly recommend. Each party gets a number of special/premium items as well, wagyu beef, scallops, clams, etc. Among the other items for grabbing are seaweed knots, udon/ramen noodles, fish balls, sausages, mushrooms, tofu, tofu skin, squid, potatoes, fruit, and bok choy among a ton of other stuff. And of course, there is a sauce station. The only downside is that they don't accept reservations for parties less than 3 or 4 (I can't remember). So if you happen to go during a rush, very likely you will be waiting an hour for a table. Value: 5/5Quality: 5/5Quantity: 5/5Service: 5/5Atmosphere: 4/5

Walk down the terrible Mango Mango alley and take the small, slowest elevator up to the indicated floor. Each hotpot area fits many so if you're here for 2 it can be a wait.AYCE where you order meat and all the other items are buffet pick-up (veggies, fish balls, sauce, appetizers, etc). The hotpot setup heats up well and the broth is well done and flavorful. They don't have the optimized hotpot setup (spices separates, utensils with hooks, easily controlled hotpot settings, etc) but it still works.More unique is they have a fridge full of Asian drinks (tea, soybean, kids drinks, etc) for AYCE. It's built into the price but I think it's fun to try the different drinks that I would never normally try.I'd make different ordering decisions next time, but no real complaints. Service was helpful, didn't have any problems with time limit, or ordering items. There was some special (?) and we got to choose some speciality meat items which was neat (american wagyu, bull frog, prawns, etc).I am looking forward to taking another person here and trying more drinks.

This place is pretty highly rated, so I was expecting a lot for this restaurant. One thing that was already pretty off-putting was the 1 hour long wait that my group had even though we had made a reservation! I get that it was lunar new year, so the restaurant must've been busier than usual, but it's still frustrating that we had that long of a wait with a reservation. There was also some dishes that we ordered that took long to come out, so the service felt a little inconsistent at times.I did like the selection of food and drinks -- it's definitely a plus that there is such a wide variety of drinks and they are unlimited. I think I would be happy to come here again and would recommend trying it out because the dining experience itself is pretty great, especially compared to some of the other hotpot places I've had in Philly.
