Food was good, but the whole experience may have been slightly overrated. I had the pulpus, grilled octopus and it was quite tasty. The oysters had a little ocean flavor like they could've been cleaned more and I didn't care for the sauce they provided. I'm sure some might love it though. It was too sweet for me. The restaurant is very cool vibe wise. They have dancers that come out and perform and a speakeasy in the back. It's definitely fine dining though, I'm still not sure how my bill got so high. Our waiter was very on top of things, but that's also because you have a 2 hour time window.

A whole vibe!I came here with my sister because we were in town for a wedding and had been seeing that it touted by our favorite Ig sister Charlye Lynne. Of course we had to come visit! The vibes of this place were unmatched. The ambiance was dim and sexy. We even noticed there was a hidden speakeasy on the other side. There are so many places to take aesthetically pleasing photos including the restroom, which was an absolute beauty. I particularly loved the gold fixtures. Design 10/10. For dinner, I ordered the lobster ravioli, grilled asparagus, and Sauvignon blanc. We had the vanilla butter cake but unfortunately they were out of ice cream so we didn't get the full flavor of what that dessert is supposed to taste like but I'm sure the ice cream definitely would've complimented the cake as it was rich in texture. The lobster ravioli was pretty tasty and my asparagus was grilled perfectly. Our server was amazing and attentive. He lead us through a secret path to check out the speakeasy. We only peeked in for a few seconds as it was packed but it was a hidden lounge in there and quite lively. I wish we could have stayed longer but nonetheless it was a great time and I will definitely be back.

Great spot to go to for birthdays and other celebrations. It's a full service restaurant on one side and speakeasy on the other. They have live performances throughout the evening with a DJ playing throughout. I didn't try too much because I'm vegan but they have some salads and pasta dish as well as a cauliflower appetizer. Both the speakeasy and the restaurant stayed busy all night. The service is exquisite and the servers are so friendly. Definitely upscale vibes. I believe the restaurant is West African Owned so they infuse some unique dishes onto the menu.

Koya was so beautiful inside and larger than expected, also has a cute speakeasy inside where you can order off of the same menu and they have hookah! Our food and drinks were a 10/10, I would come back for the Mac and cheese and the entertainment alone!! We made a reservation for 7pm and the entertainment didn't start until 8:30, unfortunately our server let us know that all the tables have a 2 hour time limit so we moved to the bar once our time was up. Gratuity is applied to all tickets. There is valet parking for $20 next to the restaurant. Entertainment was great and the specialty cocktails really stood out to me.

Eric made the best drink I have had in a long time. The flavors were great together and balanced each other out. The atmosphere is stunning, it's fun watching the performers. I was greeted immediately when I sat at the bar and each server had been great. I would recommend this place too everyone.

Love, love, love the decor in the restaurant! My review is for the main dining room. There is live entertainment on the weekends and a DJ. The service could have been better as our waitress forgot items we asked for several times. The food items I ordered were just ok. I ordered the Hummus 7/10 Chicken strips 8/10Wagyu burger 6/10Lavender vanilla Drop 5/10 I didn't care for the vanilla vodka. I will be back to check out the speakeasy

Brought honey for his birthday, expecting a show. My fault, I didn't realize there were no shows on Wednesday. So, for dinner solely, it was ok. Pricey for no reason. Good service, decor is a bit gaudy for my taste but I guess it fits for a dinner and a show. Idk that I need to come back. Honey was satisfied so, a win. Two word review: speakeasy first.

Came to celebrate my sister's birthday! Dining experiences are slowly becoming a thing in Houston and I'm loving it! Koya just opened and i fear it won't last long. I went the second week of opening and they were short staffed (or at least it felt like it because of the wait times for everything). I will say our waitress tried her best. Ambiance - the performers looked like they did not want to be there and gave some lack luster performances. Food - tad bit over priced but the food is pretty good. Overall- Koya has potential and I have hope.

i went here on a friday night at around 8:30pm i was on a date at one of the bar tables up on top at first i wasn't too sure to sit up there but my server accommodated to me and made sure me and my girl had a wonderful time she informed me that the shows usually start at 8:45 to 9pm depending on the entertainer, she recommend some of the popular cocktails i went with the smoked old fashioned and my girl went with a kiwi mojito it tasted 10/10! its even better because i noticed my server was also the bartender so drinks came out quick and tasted better than ever. we went straight to the entrees i got the rack of lamb 10/10 btw! and my girl got the ravioli it was good but only came with 4 raviolis... i would come back i believe my server/bartender name was annie definitely a fun experience great for date night! looking forward to coming back to check out the speakeasy.

Koya is a fun spot with very much a party atmosphere. It would be a good place to go for a group dinner as I saw multiple bachelorette parties when we dined there. On the weekends there are various performances throughout the night. The modern venue is very aesthetic and offers multiple photo opportunities. While I enjoyed our evening there, the food had room for improvement. The miso salmon had hardly any flavor and the Mac and cheese had a watery consistency. The ribeye was probably the better out of the two entrees we ordered but still was not very impressed with the flavor. Portion sizes were very large and it was definitely a struggle to get through everything. I would recommend visiting Koya more for appetizers and drinks. Our server was attentive though out the night and did mention there was a speakeasy as well but we decided to call it an early night. We definitely want to plan another visit to see it. Please note, as other reviewers mentioned, there is an automatic 20% gratuity applied.
