Koto is lower end sushi but at a very cheap price. I went for lunch and ordered the sushi deluxe. It came out with a miso soup that was nothing special. The sushi deluxe came with 2 pieces of tuna, 2 white fish, 2 salmon and 2 Unogi. The pieces were not high quality but were still decent to eat. The meal ended up being $13 for everything which is a steal! This restaurant definitely fulfills a sushi craving but isn't the tastiest.

If you work around the area, I'd recommend coming here for their lunch specials. The restaurant is not very busy, so the staff are pretty welcoming from the beginning, and are quick to get the food over to the patrons. I find that the lunch specials are filling and delicious, but I'm not usually a fan of the salad that most of the lunch specials come with. It is essentially lettuce with this sauce that is too sweet for my liking. Although the sushi isn't the highest quality in the world, for the price in the area, you can't beat it.

Rolls are great and are at a stupendous price. Thought I was coming for happy hour but it is happy hour all the time! Miso soup and salad are less than $2 each. Cali rolls are $3.25 and the spicy salmon rolls was $3.50! Let's see how i feel later. I think the two large sakes I had will pickle anything. I also had the spicy girl roll $12.50 but should have just stuck to the cheaper rolls. The salmon pieces on top was on small side and the flying fish roe eggs on top detracted from the buttery salmon taste i love. One thing i did not like was the ginger which tasted like it had been dipped in fabuloso. The miso soup was as expected and the salad was a small bowl with a slice of tomato on top of diced iceberg lettuce with ur choice of dressing- i chose the ginger which came in its own boat and was extra tangy. The service was great and the server wears a mask. Amhiance is open with many tables and large bar seating area. Was not crowded at all when i arrived around afternoon opening time and left around 18:30. Removed a star because I had to use restroom after finishing and it was not clean and tall trash can was filled to the brim.

Dined in on a Tuesday at 1:00 pm for a party of two and was seated immediately. There was a very strong odor that hit me in my nostrils when i opened the door. It could be the open Koi fish pond inside the restaurant. Their menu is extensive but quality was just ok.We ordered:Shrimp tempura: the batter is not my favorite but it was crispyKani sunomono: good flavorsTempura hand roll: the shrimp went all the way to the end of the hand roll, which is rare. Skinny shrimp but was good.Spider hand roll: the crab went all the way down to the hand roll, so i had a bite of crab in each nibble. Very good.Tuna tartar: lease favorite, the wonton chips were one minute from getting stale. The tuna didn't have any flavor.Chopped scallop nigiri: it had an odd spice in it, not the bestUnagi nigiri: good

This place is amazing. Fresh and wondrous selection... Apple the server is joyful, warm, and welcoming. The Joshua Roll was the hero of the day, followed by the tremendous tuna nachos. Every item tastes great and matches the menu! The miso soup is piping hot, and delicious! This place receives my absolute highest recommendation!!

A decent sushi place not far from a few Japanese shops. They have lunch special everyday including weekend. I got the chirashi bowl (not lunch special), which comes with 20 thick cuts of sashimi (~10 types) on a bed of sushi rice, pretty fresh and cute presentation. Also serves with a small salad (didn't like the dressing, wish it was ginger dressing) and miso soup. Service was very friendly and quick, and definitely great value.

I believe this placed closed down. Tried going here after work called a couple times and they did not pick it up the phone and I went there to order personally. When I arrived their restaurant sign was off and the whole restaurant's furniture was gone.It was pretty good with decent prices I'll miss this place

Are they still open? Went by at dinner time twice and no one there. Doors locked and no note. No one answers their phone.

In the beginning Koto was one of several authentic Japanese restaurants along Westheimer. Everything was exceptional. Place clean. The owner sold it a few years back and the quality went through the floor. If one wants authentic with quality, Sasaki!
