Service was amazing. Food was spectacular & fresh! We are visiting the area from out of state and we wish we lived closer! The owners took their time to speak with our family & 4 children. If we come back to Cary again we will for sure be back!

Friendly (Chinese) staff. The traffic light was unique and tasty. I would suggest they not keep serving their seafood for so many days before throwing it away, because the toro, scallop and uni were not fresh tasting... it was difficult to get the taste out of mouth... not to mention the scales I pulled out of my mouth. Unpleasant and a bit disappointing for the price.I'm surprised by the high rating.

Awesome sushi! I think this may be our new go-to place. The rolls were tasty, and the fish was very fresh. Very friendly and sweet staff

It's been three months since I visited during their soft opening and I'm happy to say.....they did a great job maturing the restaurant. The decor is much more cozy and welcoming. And Jackie is just as friendly as ever. The video signage is a great mixture of a sushi pep rally and Japanese news. Don't let the restaurant facade fool you, it's not strip mall sushi at all. The sushi is very fresh, creative, and unique. I had a Raleigh roll (no crunch), miso soup, uni, Ikura, and Seikyo sake (good Goldilocks sake - not too dry, not too sweet). I'm very happy I came back and loved my experience, from presentation to service to sushi quality; this place is legit and shouldn't be missed. Go see Jackie and remember to tip well.

Impeccably clean, friendly servers Jackie & LiAnn and quality fish. The pork gyoza was exceptional. A wide selection and nice presentation of food. We tried 12 menu items, I particularly liked the spicy rolls. A great value and standout in a region with limited sushi options.

I came here with my husband for date night. We sat outside. The inside ambiance looked lovely but it was too nice outside to sit inside. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We ended up having a lovely conversation with the owner. We started with shishito peppers, beer, wine, and the crispy spicy tuna appetizer. The shishito peppers were really good. Served with lime and sea salt. The wine serving was a bit light but the price wasn't bad. The crispy spicy tuna came out with our meal despite delaying ordering our entree. We thought they had forgotten which would have been ok. It was just ok. It tasted like spicy tuna on a tator tot. I ordered the RDU combo and my husband had the Kinoko Kamameshi. Everything was presented very beautifully. The food tasted great. The salad was a typical ginger salad served in Japanese restaurants but the lettuce was a spring mix instead of ice burg and the dressing was homemade. It was delish. Sushi was OK. My fav was the yellowtail jalapeño roll. I usually prefer spicy tuna. My husband enjoyed the mushrooms. Said it could have used a little more spices. Nice place!

I avoid knocking local businesses but I had to come back and review once again since this is my second visit that was such a bad experience. I decided to give kinoko one more shot and was sorely disappointed by the ridiculous wait time and did not even receive my food. I ordered to go this time in the hopes to just enjoy the sushi without the long wait time (see my first review for sit down dining). When I called I received a 40 minute wait time for the sushi rolls...a bit longer than I expected but not an issue at that point. I plan to head out and make sure I give them the right amount of time to make the order since before I saw it may take a while. I arrive to Kinoko 55 minutes after my order was placed and the food is not ready at all.Apparently they had not even begun the multiple rolls I ordered over an hour after the online order had been placed. When asking the wait for the food, he said it would be at minimum 15 minutes. At this point I was pretty frustrated, because its been over an hour and they hadn't even started my food at the sushi bar. The restaurant had probably 4 patrons inside and I just have a really difficult time reckoning with the order not even being started over an hour after they told me and now at least 20 minutes after I drove all the way over. They also had my number and didn't bother to call or let me know it wasn't ready or that it was running behind. I decide to wait for the order, mostly because I used my $10 giftcard I received from the LAST time I had an unreasonably long wait time so I was disappointed I was having the experience again. The final straw was waiting an additional 10 minutes just for him to tell me they ran out of eel. Eel was featured in 80% of my order...and they didn't let me know until I had already paid and was over an hour after placing the order. I drove 20 minutes to this spot and everything. At that point I cancelled the order and got a refund. Overall just unfortunate and I will not be returning at all. If and when you get your food no doubt its ok but I can't support a business that consistently doesn't value customers time or try to communicate.

Made reservation through the Yelp app. Place is small. Highly recommend you make reservations is you have a party bigger than four, better yet , make reservations, period. Very clean place. Miso soup was outstanding. The Morrisville Roll was amazing!! Sashimi/sushi plate was excellent. Great restaurant addition to the Morrisville area!!!

This is probably my favorite sushi restaurant in the Raleigh/Cary area. It's very unassuming from the outside, but the interior is very cozy/inviting, like the owner really brings you into their space. The service here has been nothing short of excellent each time I've dined with them. The sushi itself is beautifully done, and competes with upper echelon establishments with ease.

Our absolute favorite sushi place and we are sushi snobs. The other menu items are very delicious as well - dumplings and katsu in specific!
