King's Barbeque

Ordered through Grubhub. King's Platter, paid extra for sauce on the side. It was poured over my plate and in everything-including the boudain. Ordered beans and rice. The sausage in it tasted like commercially packaged sausage. The beans had no flavor. The gumbo with the king's platter and extra quart of gumbo was horrible. I had called the restaurant to ask about the gumbo because it's just listed on the menu as "gumbo" with no indication of the ingredients. I was told it was chicken and sausage gumbo. That's not what I got at all. I received shredded brisket in a bowl with water poured over it. No vegetables, no roux, no flavor! Who makes gumbo out of brisket??? Lost my business forever. When I called to complain I was met by a rude and hostile employee who had no intention of making it right. Absolutely the worst $70 I've ever spent. Go to King's in LaPorte! This location doesn't deserve your patronage.

Good day. Around 11:45 am today we called from Altus Hospital here in Baytown to place multiple orders for pick up, the guy on the phone taking the orders was very unprofessional. After the first order ( Chicken Potato) was placed we ask the guy to place all the condiments for the potato on the side he said that would be an extra charge? I would like to know what the reason for this charge is? We then ask if we could pay separate upon picking up the orders since we where told by the guy taking the orders that your facility could not separate orders. Again I would like to know why? We eventually just told the guy taking the order to just forget it since he seemed to act as if we where bothering him. We did order from pipeline with no issues about placing items on the side and paying separate. We have eaten multiple times at Kings with only a few annoying incidents we overlooked but after the treatment we as a group received today we are happy to inform your management we will not patron Kings again. The guy taking the order was on speaker and we over heard his contempt to help us. Extremely bad representation for your restaurant. So at 5:20 pm I get a phone call from the manager at this restaurant trying to explain the actions of his employee. This establishment will charge if you ask for things that normally go with the potato on the side. This establishment will also not allow you to pay separately if you make multiple orders over the phone. HUMMM so from the 8 of us that was trying to order you have lost our business and we will pass this on to our co workers in the hospital. King's bbq is good. The brisket and sausage is good. Food has a hint of cumin, which I like! Service is fast.

If you've read my reviews, you know I'm going to tell it like it is. I'm giving this place a one star because of the slack service I got first of all, and second, because it wasn't worth eating. I ordered food from here through Uber eats, but before I did, I called to inquire about the 1/4 chicken (which is all it says on the menu). I asked if it was a leg and thigh, the girl said yes. I placed my order and then called back. I explained to the girl I was in a hotel and PLEASE make sure I had utensils to eat with and extra napkins. Five minutes after I placed my order I got a phone call saying they didn't have scallop potatoes I had to choose something else. Ok, so I asked about the potato salad, she said, "oh yeh, it's real good, I like it a lot". So I said ok I'll try it....So when my order arrives, it's a cut up breast with a wing. WTH !!!...That's a big difference between a thigh and a leg. Now as far as the quality of the food, like so many places, I don't understand how they can stay in business. Evidently the beans and the potato salad are straight out of a tub or a can. No flavor, nothing, just bland as hell. The chicken was dry and tasteless also. Definitely not worth the $25 I was charged. A big waste of my hard earned money !!!!!!!!...When I called and asked for a manager, the girl told me that he wouldn't be in until the next day. I said well who's in charge I'll speak to them. "We'll, nobody really"..Again, WTH !!!..They should also train their employees so they know the difference between a leg and a thigh, opposed to a breast and a wing. Yeah this place sucks !!!!...If I were you, I would eat ANYWHERE else OTHER than this place. If you think it's just me, read the reviews. They're not very good. Wish I had read them before I ordered.Oh I almost forgot. I took a taste of the barbecue sauce that was on the side. I don't know what they make it with, but if I were them I'd start over from scratch. It's nasty tasting !!!**Update: I wanted to speak with management before I posted this review. So I called the next morning to explain to him what happened. I was told that you don't have a choice with what you get when you order the 1/4 chicken, it's whatever they have at the time. Something they should let people know when they order. Some people like dark, some people like white. I don't want to order something and it be a grab bag of whatever is left. Anyway, the manager told me I could come back and he would give me that quarter chicken dark meat if I wanted it and if it was available. Since I'm traveling that's not really an option.**Thanks to Uber eats, they did reimburse me for a portion of the cost. Which was fine with me. I don't feel like I was totally screwed.

Today was the first and last time to eat at Kings BBQ in Baytown. The portions were very small, brisket and ribs had no flavor. Ribs were mostly fat and grissel. The potatoes were cold. I first ordered a two meat plate with brisket and sausage. My husband ordered the three meat plate which included ribs. Then i decided i also wanted ribs. Because I originally ordered a two meat and changed to a three meat, they charged us $10.29 for a half pound (two ribs) instead of making it a three meat platter. The difference between our platters was $3.30. All said and done, they overcharged us $6.99. We left the a $7.13 tip before we knew that we got screwed. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Great BBQ. I would have given a 5star, but I am not a fan of ordering in line, fast food style. Small place in a small shopping plaza. All the smoked meats were fantastic. BBQ sauce was amazing as well. Would definitely visit here again and would recommend.

This place is so bland!!! The macaroni and cheese was completely bland no flavor whatsoever. The ribs are bland as well and you have to pour a sauce on top just for it to taste mediocre. Food was hot though. Service was very good and they were overall nice. I won't be eating here again, maybe if it was my last resort.

I ordered cheese burger with side mac&cheese and gator platter. It's sad when macaroni and cheese was the best thing I ordered. Macaroni and cheese wasn't seasoning. The burger was dry and tuff. The fries were sawing and just this side of cooked. Gator platter horrible. The gator was chewing and uncooked. The boudain balls were underseasoned and quite frankly discussing. I will never King's bbq again.

The brisket was just that. Just brisket that was bland as ever. The sausage was terrible stuff you can get out of a blister pack from a chain store. Terrible without real seasoning. If i wanted this kind of food i would have passed. You too should pass. The bbq sauce tasted like it was from a plastic bottle from a chain store. Cheese Potatoes were package sauce tasting stuff. Sorry but i would not recommend.

First timer! Stopped in on a whim while in Baytown saw it in the strip center and decided to stop in and get some BBQ to go. Staff was friendly, service quick and BBQ was delicious. Brisket nice and tender how I like it - sausage very tasty.
