It was my first time eating there. The food was ok, I would have preferred more vegetables and mixed in oppose to just a few sprinkled on the top but overall it was good.

Youma/Kilimandjaro is by far my favorite African restaurant. I've tried so many other restaurants and nothing comes close to this. I order the same meal every time. The grilled fish, extra onions and red rice (jollof). The fish is scored and seasoned to perfection then topped with seasoned raw onions. Don't knock it till you try it. The fish and onions has a Dijon mustard taste to it but I can't make out any of the other ingredients. It doesn't matter it's great! The rice is short grained and tomato based and some veggies (peas and carrots are sprinkled on top). They give you a healthy amount of rice so you can get at least 2 servings out of it. The restaurant is small and I usually order takeout but you can dine in but may or may not get a seat. The restaurant seats about 15-20 so go early or on a weekday if you want dine in. Also try their ginger or hibiscus drink. They're great too!

My in-laws have been ordering from Kilamandjaro/Youma for years and it is one of the best African food spots in the city. It is extremely difficult to find great tasting, authentic African food so look no further than Youma! The lamb is a MUST!!!They recently changed locations so now they're located on Baltimore Ave.

Red snapper is good! Steamed vegetables and white rice was good too! I would definitely order again. It is on the pricey side, but it tastes really good and is seasoned well.

I ordered takeout from Kilimandjaro and loved the delicious food! It's been years since I ate from this restaurant, so I'm thrilled was able to try it again once back in town. There are so many options on their lunch menu, but I got the Chicken Yassa and Lamb Mafee. If you order here, expect hearty, large portions that you can easily share with others or store for a later day!

First time trying Senegalese food, and I *would* try this again. We ordered the Poisson (tilapia) and Poulet Senegal (chicken) with sides of couscous and steamed vegetables. Would've opted for a side of Fried Plaintains but they were sadly out. The portion sizes are incredibly generous -- the Poisson was an entire fish, head and all, and the Poulet Senegal was half of a slightly overcooked chicken. The sides themselves were the size of an entree at any other restaurant. Everything was impeccably seasoned, my favorite being the caramelized onions that accompanied the Poulet and the couscous. The food should be paired with something blander (e.g. rice) to balance out all the flavor, but certainly not a bad problem to have.Important thing to note: pay in cash!

Kilimandjaro serves Senegalese cuisine and is in the shopping center at 43rd and Chestnut Street. There's a parking lot available and Kilimandjaro is currently open for takeout and delivery. I called ahead and the wait was around 30 minutes. Note that they're cash only!We ordered the Poison (tilapia) ($15) and the Poulet Senegal (chicken) ($14). Each dinner comes with a side and I picked Steamed Vegetables and Couscous. I thought the couscous was a bit bland, but unfortunately they ran out of fried plantains which I would've picked as my side instead. These portion sizes are huge! The Poison was an entire fish and the other dish was half of a chicken. The tilapia was very well seasoned and since it's grilled, the texture is very crispy. The chicken was flavorful but it was on the drier side. Two dinner dishes can definitely feed three people. TLDR: Tasty senegalese dishes and a bang for your buck-- and on that note, make sure you have cash!
