I've had Khao Sen to-go twice now, and I've loved it! Their food is amazing and somehow gives me a "Thai meets Vietnamese" tease. I'm obsessed with their Thai tea with boba, and the sweet sausage fried rice is my all-time favorite. This restaurant is a go-to for the hubs and I, and we're so glad you're near. Cheers!

The ambiance of the restaurant is so cute! Very minimalist and clean cut - very much a vibe. I've only ever gotten my food to-go, so I can't really speak to the sit-down service, but my orders were always promptly made and waiting for me on arrival. I've tried a few dishes, including:- Kanom jeep: very tasty- Kai zaap: rather bland - definitely needed the sauce to give it a flavor boost. - Krong pad prik: also a bit of a letdown flavor-wise- Tom kha goong: great if you're into the Tom kha style of flavor. It wasn't my favorite, but I think that's because I have a different profile I enjoy. - Goong karee: my least favorite and by far the blandest. Not sure what happened with that dish. But the best of all: - Pu Nim: hands down my favorite dish and what will keep me coming back. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. The heat level was exactly what I wanted (if I'm not second-guessing my life choices, it's not hot enough). Overall, it's not your typical Thai restaurant that I think most people think of when they envision the cuisine, so I think it'll just take some getting used to. I'd like to try more dishes to see if anything else stands out. I really want this place to work so we can keep a Thai spot in Fuquay!

Came by on a Friday night and was seated pretty quickly. The interior is cute and minimal, but I would have loved to see some Thai traditional decor or art. It needed just a little bit more color. Our server was great and gave suggestions based on our spice tolerance. FYI: Thai dishes at a medium level are very minor spice, but if you choose hot or Thai hot, they will have you sweating! We ordered our drinks (lychee lemonade and a beer) and I was obsessed with the lychee! With really lychee bits inside, I had to make sure I finished all of it before leaving. I plan to order a drink here again on another hot day - it was so refreshing! For food, we ordered the khao soi, the crab omelette with rice berry (aka purple rice) and the pork pad krapow special. All three dishes were delicious so flavorful! 9/10 HIGHLY recommend!

We have driven by a couple of times but weren't sure if it was open. I'm soooo glad it is. A must try. The restaurant is clean and spacious with a great ambiance. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were seated right away. The server recommended some favorites and they were amazing. We had a variety of dishes with noodles and rice. The food was incredibly flavorful and aromatic I will definitely be coming back here often. If you are in the area or not, it's a must try. Amazing!

This was my first time visiting on a Sunday during lunch. As it is in a newly developed location, the area looks empty with plenty of parking with tons of room for more businesses. Khao Sen looks to be one of its earliest businesses to be up and running. The place was super clean and had a nice minimalist aesthetic. I got a Thai coffee and it was delicious. Everyone else's drinks looked super pretty (fruit teas were ombre colored!). The food was amazing as well, and comes with a big portion size. I got the crab omelette rice and tried my best to eat up to 3/4 of it before I was so full that I cannot eat anymore!Service was also great. Becca was the name of my server, and she was attentive and made sure our table had space from our appetizer to our main courses and checked on extra sauces and anything else we needed. I would love to come back again soon!

Newly nestled among the Retreat Luxury Apartments is probably the one reason I'd use the word "luxury" in this context. They are nice enough units, but this restaurant provides a meaningful upgrade. Not only is it cool for residents (of whom I'm close with 2) to have dining options on-site, but Khao Sen is a total winner. Clean and vibrant, with windows all around, they offer a takeout window, a small bar area, two separate restroom stations, and drinks for liver damage as well as liver cleansing. It appeals to everyone. Everyone who loves Thai food, that is. With a full menu, Khao Sen offers a rockstar Kai Zaap spicy Thai chicken wings appetizer, going from mild to hot. I'm practicing for the day I get invited to appear on "Hot Ones," so I chose their spiciest option. It was good, but even better with the chili dipping sauce.Because of a Yelper's online photo, I ordered the Crab Pancake, and it was delectable. However, they are rather stingy on the "crab" part. With a few pieces strewn about on top, the filling is all rice. If you don't mind picking quality over quantity, the pancake dish will leave you satisfied. Gonna say it again though - stingy with the crab!Dessert was the Thai donuts, and man were they delicious. Described as "light and fluffy with a sweet glaze," they tasted as good as the photo looks. It was later in the day, so I didn't choose a coffee, but these delights would go awesomely with a Brown Sugar Milk Tea or maybe a Taro Milk. Instead, I drank the Citrus Yu, which was beautiful to look at, but leaned on the average side. New place, so parking was nothing, but I can see these guys catching fame quickly once all the residents get wind of their opening. Every dish is Instagram-worthy and the service was attentive and helpful. All the best.

This new cute Thai spot is now open in Fuquay-Varina. We dined in for dinner and I started off with a Singha beer and my husband ordered a honey lavendar milk tea tea then we split the krab sticks and vegetable gyoza. For our entrees it was the Khao Pad Sun Chiang (fried rice with sweet sausage) and a Thai tea for my husband and the Khao Goong Katiem (white rice with sautéed shrimp) and lychee sake for me. The food, drinks and service were all really good. The only complaint that we had was the small amount of sweet sausage to rice for the Khao Pad Sun Chiang. I recommend making a reservation online so you do not have to wait.

I think this place has so much potential because every single item on their menu sounds super unique and delicious from the food to the drinks. I would want to come back to try their other items because all the food items we got (except the dessert) were good but not amazing. The Tom yum noodle soup was both me and my partner's favorite of the items we got. It was really good but I felt like the sourness of the fish sauce was too strong and the soup could use more tamarind to bring out the sour of tom yum more, and/or could use more savoriness to balance because the sour was strong, but not in a Tom yum way. I like the variety of toppings they include in it though. The sweet sausage fried rice was good! It felt like a Vietnamese broken rice dish meets fried rice with the cucumbers and fish sauce. The fish sauce adds tanginess and spice to a savory fried rice but use to your discretion. I think it wasn't anything special other than the sweet sausage and Chinese broccoli they threw in which was a nice Asian spin on fried rice. The soft shell crab was decent, it had a LOT of onions. I don't mind having a lot of onions, but I think maybe the crab should've been on top of the bed of vegetables or maybe chop the vegetables smaller and highlight the flavors of the crab more? It was a good dish but again, the crab flavors were like the onion and bell pepper flavors so nothing wowed. We got the the Thai iced tea which my partner thought was refreshing. It does taste like Thai tea meets iced tea which was cool! I got the lychee limeades fizzy which also comes with lychee jellies. It was pretty good and tasted the way it sounds. The least favorite part was the Thai tea custard. Maybe we don't actually know what Thai tea custard is but we were expecting a custard flan type of dessert that's Thai tea flavored. Instead it was more like Thai tea flavored condensed milk with warm sweet bread to dip.. Would not recommend this one unless that sounds like what you want! The service was good and the place is cute. I think if they ironed out the flavors of their dishes it would be amazing because they have all the ingredients and the concept that make it exciting.

Words cannot express how happy I am to have found this place so close to me! After living in Las Vegas for 26 years and moving to NC, I've struggled to find great Thai food. I found this one on instagram and decided to give it a try. I like that their menu has some unique offerings. We tried the fried soft shell crab, the bbq pork noodles, and the sweet sausage fried rice. Every dish was amazing! The soft shell crab was cooked perfectly and accompanied by sautéed veggies that gave the perfect crunch and flavor. We ordered a medium spicy level and it didn't disappoint. The bbq pork noodles included some wontons and broth which could be added to the dish or dipped separately. The bbq pork was delicious and had the perfect soft texture. The sweet sausage fried rice was so good! By adding the fish sauce that came with it, the sweet and salty combination can't be beat! We also ordered a pink milk tea and a matcha one as well. Both drinks were tasty and refreshing. Becca was our server and she was so attentive and accommodating even during a busy dinner service. She took time to answer any questions we had and consistently checked on us. I'm so happy this place exists and I can't wait to go back and try more amazing food!
