K'Far has always been a go to of mine when introducing friends to places in Philly. K'Far is a very approachable cafe serving up Israeli bites and pastries. Having been founded by Michael Solomonov, you know what to expect, in your face flavors but done in an elegant fashion. The cafe itself is quite appealing with designs inspired by the Middle East. The venue has a sense of brightness and feels very refreshing. The outdoor patio is also a great addition, especially it being right in center city, near Rittenhouse. When you walk in, I have always been greeted by a welcoming staff. Do expect to wait 10-20 minutes for a table, especially during peak hours. While you wait, I suggest you take a look at their pastries on the side to get an idea of what to order. For the food, I really liked the potato in the top section of the menu. For pastries, you really can't go wrong with any of them. They all are on the sweeter side so be sure to pace yourself. I liked the Pistachio Sticky Bun. I also recommend grabbing a bagel and a toast. It's a nice way to balance out the heavy flavors and sweetness. Again, can't go wrong with any of these. I always gravitate towards avocado. I've actually never tried their bowls so unfortunately no comment on these. This is a date spot for me, if you can grab a seat and not the high table. It gets a bit crowded and loud at the high table. I would recommend grabbing one item from each section to share and enjoy the vibes!

My boyfriend and I popped in for lunch the other day at K'Far and had such a nice experience! We ordered the salad with salmon, a grilled cheese, a pistachio cookie, and the egg and cheese sandwich. The salad with salmon was hands down the best thing we ordered, and I highly recommend trying it. The egg sandwich was good and had a nice spicy pesto that I enjoyed. I would pass on the grilled cheese and cookie next time. They were good, but nothing crazy. We will definitely be back! And, hopefully, get our hands on a sticky bun since they were sold out when we were there!

FYI - COFFEE REVIEW ONLY:Wanted to try this place based on someone's recommendation. The place is super close to down parks and a great location. The ambience is super cool and has the feel of an upscale diner with beautiful decor.Coming in on a hot day wanted to start with a nice cold coffee and go from there...The coffee was sub par and decided not to eat or try anything after that...Not likely to return at all to this place..

While the decor is gorgeous and the concept seems promising, the execution and service is way off at K'Far. I have been to K'Far for takeout and dine-in service and both experiences resulted in bland, unimaginative food and really awful service. During my dine-in experience the server flat out forgot my meal and it took another 15 minutes for my avocado toast to appear. It was a cold dish so I have no idea what took 15 minutes after the initial 15 minutes I waited only to uncover that he forgot to put in my order. Way overpriced for something I could have made better at home. Nothing really unique about K'Far and I am so sad because the decor and concept could be awesome if it was well executed and the service was good. Two stars are mostly for the hot Yosemite latte I had in the winter. The iced version just is not the same.

CUTEST CAFE in the area. The interior design is top notch and the drinks / bagels were even better. I got an iced chai latte with an egg and cheese Jerusalem bagel (freaking amazing)! I was visiting the area but I would definitely come back every day if I was a local. The employees were friendly and our food/drinks came out after ~10 minutes because they were busy. Highly recommend and next time I want to try the pastries here :)

Really cute and very busy cafe. I sat at the counter and ordered the rose sumac lemonade which is a must and the Jerusalem bagel with za'attar. It was very tasty only complaint was the butter was too much and there wasn't enough Zattar. I'm looking forward to trying other things on the menu and will def come back on less crowded days. The servers were really friendly as well

We came here on a recommendation. Everything looked scrumptious in the display case as soon as we came in.Service - Rude hostess, sweet waitressThe hostess came to greet us and when we indicated we wanted to dine in, she went to look for tables. When she returned she asked indoor or outdoor, and informed us it would be a moment to get the table ready, so we went to look at the treats to prepare our order. She did not like that. She wanted us to wait in the doorway and we asked to look at the display case from off to the side. She very visibly rolled her eyes and said something snotty under her breath. When she seated us, she very starkly told us to keep ourselves within the boundaries of the table, keeping arms and legs and chairs strictly inside the bounds and not to move the chairs. Overall, very harsh and rude woman. Thank goodness we got a very kind waitress to make up for the hostess's behavior. She was even rude to others and they got her as a server too. Bummer for them.Food - delectableEverything we ordered was fantastic. The menu was a bit vague on the bagels so we anticipated the labneh trio to be a sandwich but it was a bagel only with three different spreads (all very good), just not expected when we saw lovely sandwiches coming out from the same section with vague descriptions. The pistachio sticky bun was delicious and not overly sweet but had warm honey squishing out. The chocolate rugelach was very moist and very very sweet but good. The bourekas were both very good, the potato was a bit dry/simple, but the feta was fantastic. The coconut babka was also very scrumptious. The orange blossom latte was fantastic!!!SummaryOverall, very happy we came here! Hostess could use major correction on her behavior towards customers, but the waitress is lovely and helps recover the service well.

Got the mocha and Brown Sugar Ricotta Toast to-go. Mocha is nothing special but not bad either. Service was super quick and they were nice enough to let me sit inside even though I had ordered takeout. The brown sugar ricotta toast was as delicious as I had expected - the sweetness of the ricotta and brown sugar complimented the buttered toast so well! It was almost closing time when I visited and they were out of their most popular pastries so I'll plan to come for breakfast next time.

WOW!!!! Came here for a quick breakfast and was completely blown away. We started by sharing the pistachio sticky bun which was incredible. Perfectly sweet but balanced with some crunchy pistachios for texture. Possibly one of the best pastries I've ever tried. For my meal I had their take on "bagels" with smoked salmon. This "bagel" also had cucumbers, pickled red onions, and I'm pretty sure there was some sore of seasoning in there as well well. It was perfect! The bread itself was soft yet crunchy, lox was fresh, balanced amount of cream cheese and toppings. We also tried the orange blossom latte which was just okay but I think this drink would likely be better iced. The restaurant itself isn't too big but there is some additional seating in the back. It is an elevated casual vibe, ideal for breakfast or brunch in my opinion. Our server was kind and attentive. Would highly recommend checking K'far out. Don't skip the pastries!!

I've always loved K'Far and have been looking forward to my trip to Philadelphia, in part, to revisit one of my favorite local spots. Unfortunately, this time, my experience was a major letdown.I ordered three small items at the counter and was told my name would be called when they were ready. My family and I waited... and waited, watching as people who placed mobile orders came and went. To make things worse, people who ordered after us were getting their food while my name remained uncalled.I double-checked several times, even asking, "For Sam?" whenever names were repeated, but still nothing. Finally, after what felt like forever, I asked about the status of my order. They handed me a bag from the counter, saying nothing, and hurried me out of the restaurant. To my dismay, my food had been sitting there for 20 minutes, untouched, while I stood just two feet away from the counter the entire time. While the food here is usually great, the service on this visit was far from what I've come to expect. Hopefully, this was just an off day.
