We really need more authentic deli's in Houston and Katz's just doesn't fit the bill. I go back every year to confirm the food is still mediocre hoping they will have improved. This week my wife and I went for a bowl of soup and a sandwich. I had hoped for some pastries (hamentashen) but they didn't have anything (as in nothing, not even a black and white). The matzoh ball soup had to suffice since kreplach is not on the menu. The soup was SALTY and seemed like the vegetables were freeze dried. It was nowhere near the taste of good deli chicken soup. The pastrami sandwich I had was acceptable, but definitely not cured in house and the rye bread was thin and soggy. The meat was not authentic. The portions for the price were good and our server was delightful yet it took a really long time for the food to arrive from the kitchen. She offered some dill's/sauerkraut and we had some mediocre dill pickles.I'll keep holding out that someone at Katz's realizes the need to improve the experience for people who know deli food. So for now, I'll continue to make the trek down to Kenny & Ziggy's when I want good deli food.

Late night stop in! Restaurant was clean, bright and inviting. We were seated right away, drinks and food came out in a timely manner. No complaints! Great late night eatery!

Best pastrami in Houston, great service and clean restrooms. I drive over 30 minutes to eat at this place.

A quick stop at Katz in Shenandoah was just what the doctor ordered!I got a peach tea and the lunch special with a 1/2 Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and a 1/2 order of the sweet potato fries. My other half ordered the Klassic Reuben. Both were delicious!!! The bread tasted fresh, the meat full of flavor and moist. The sweet potato fries are so good!! I think I could eat those all day long! The pickle on the side is always crispy and tasty. The peach tea looks cloudy, but it's actually really good. Not too sweet, so it's perfect without any sugar added. The manager stopped by to check on us twice, which is always nice. Our waiter, Phillip was very attentive and stayed on top of things for us since we were in a bit of a hurry. Bathrooms...clean, but nothing fancy. Thank you Katz's! You did a great job this visit!

Today's visit was made great thanks to our very attentive waitress Grace ! A must to ask to be seated in her area. And the order was custom. Made to our liking with complete understanding. And the manager who dropped by our table " just to make sure we were well taken care of". The level of customer service today was top notch and sold our visit with 5 stars! Worth a visit for sure! Just my opinion.

I've been to Katz before but mostly for to go orders. Today I decided to sit down and eat my meal there fresh and hot. I ordered a hot apple cider, stuffed cabbages with a side of potato pancakes. The hot apple cider was delicious. The stuffed cabbage rolls were great as always and this was my first time having the potato pancakes. They were seasoned well and crispy. I would definitely order them again. Katz is a traditional Jewish Deli and it always has that feel.

I've given this place way too many chances. After every concert I end up trying this place out again thinking that it would be better than it was recently but of course being let down again. The food is awful and overpriced. The service is less than mediocre, but at least it's clean. It must only be this location because I haven't had any of these issues at any other Katz's. If you think it's a good idea to stop here for a late night bite, you're better off with choosing Waffle House.

I'm sorry to say, this Katz's doesn't come close to the "real one" in New York City. Nice atmosphere, but it's not the same. I can only compare the matzo ball soup and the corned beef sandwich against the original. I also sampled some of the pot roast sandwich.Corned beef was about the same as Boar's Head deli meat. Good, not great. Was it made in-house? I don't know. Next time I'll try the pastrami and hope they make it in the restaurant. Matzo Ball soup was excellent and spared this review one less star. Balls were fluffy and the broth had a nice flavor and kick to it. The pot roast was ok. Not great but good. Service was good from our waiter and other staff that helped bring out the order. I'll give it one more shot next time we're in town, otherwise there are so many other places to get meat close by.

It's been a purr-fectly long time since I sank my paws into a Katz's Deli sandwich! The 'Meow' is no joke, packed with pastrami, corned beef, turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo on crispy French bread. Time to get my paws dirty!

The good: very good service, clean, managers walk by numerous times and ask if your ok. The "needs improvement ". The sandwich is HUGE, but it's mostly bread. 3 layers of bread. French fry order was small-but tasty. The suggest much less bread and really stack the other stuff like they do in NYC. $25 just for their biggest sandwich. Should have 1lb of meat.
