Absolutely love this restaurant, from the customer service, the friendly list of the staff, the portion sizes, the atmosphere. The restaurant is a solid 9 out of 10. I would give a 10 out of 10 however I never do that because we can improve somehow however this place is fantastic.

This food truck was recommended a few times in a food group I'm part of, so I was excited to try it when it was at an event near me. I love German food and there are not many options in the triangle. The good. The bratwurst with kraut. I didn't get a pic of this, but it was a good portion, cooked well, and very good. Unfortunately, we found the rest of our order bland, slightly burned, and underwhelming. The potato pancake, schnitzel, and mushroom gravy all really needed seasoning. I wish the schnitzel came with lemon wedges too (personal preference?). The schnitzel was cooked nicely, whereas the pancake was slightly burned in spots.

Wonderful jager schnitzel and delicious potato pancake to complement. Wish there was red cabbage but overall highly recommend.

My husband and I were so excited about the German food truck that came to our neighborhood recently only to be very disappointed but the extremely bland food. We love German cuisine but this was a major let down :(

Food Truck Time: Kat-n-Around Authentic German FoodThis did the trick to cure my craving for German food. The owner, Kat, is very sweet. I ordered a curry brat and potato cake topped with applesauce, cinnamon and sugar. The brat was delicious, I loved the flavor of the curry. The potato cake was good as well but I was a tad disappointed that the applesauce was a Mott's cup. This truck used to be cash only but they take cards now!

Her potato pancakes are unbelievably good, as well as her Schnitzel and Currywurst. Her Jaeger sauce was velvety and packed with flavor.. I've spent a good deal of time in Berlin and I can say that her flavors are authentic. Highly recommend! The truck was outside of Roshambo, which was perfect since you can wash your schnitzel down with Bitburger(s). Prost!

Experienced Kay-n-Around at a Farmers Market with several food trucks. I had never heard of them but German style food sounded good! We had six in our group, so it was really nice to be give a gizmo that would light up when our order was ready. (Which meant we could check out the other booths and shop instead of just waiting on our food!). I had a pork schnitzel sandwich. The bread was really good and the pork was hot and tasty. I squeezed the lemon on the pork but I still felt that the sandwich needed a sauce of some sort to give it a little more moisture. I'd like to order it again and ask for some of their brown mustard on it. The rest of the group had a variety of schnitzel or sausage sandwiches and some loaded fries! Hot and yummy for all! Check them out at the next Food Truck Rally / Farmers Market you see!

There's no ordinary food from this truck; but there is ordinary German food, or rather slightly Americanized versions of it: Brats and jäger schnitzel, primarily. It's not light eating. It's hardy, filling, and with a tame flavor profile for those used to hot or spicy or both. The flavors are more subtle. On this, the mushrooms were large chunks, the schnitzel in small bite-size pieces with a light breading. The spätzle were just the right kind of firm doughiness that didn't stray into rubbery or chewy. The mushroom sauce was a nice flavor add. There was a lot of spätzle, though. If you try something from Kat-n-Around, spend the half dollar and get the sauerkraut. This sauerkraut put the "sour" in sauerkraut. Served warm in a small container, it was truly pucker-worthy and just the right contrast to the flatter flavors of the schnitzel and spätzle. Maybe that's why all of this German-style food pairs well with beer. The pretzels are from Guglhopf and served with the brown mustard on the side. The brats are from Weeping Radish, and the owner, Kat, is a native German who knows how to pull it all together. It's a cash-only food truck, so come prepared.

We really wanted to like this food truck as we love German food but aside from the fries and sauerkraut everything else had no flavor. Schnitzel and particularly the bratwurst didn't seem to have an ounce of salt and pepper. We couldn't wrap our brain around pork sausage having no flavor whatsoever. Were left very disappointed.

this is not german food!!!!! It is american. A german Wiener Schnitzel is veal, not por. Any schnitzel with gravy is NOT breaded, only in the US. The Spaetzle are usually fried after cooking and not a soggy mush. A real german bratwurst is skinny and eaten with sweet sauerkraut, or a german roll with medium mustard.Have not found anything that resembles german cooking in the entire RDU/Wake Forest area.
