Karne Steakhouse

Karne was a pleasant experience. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful when ordering. We have had kbbq many times but this was our first "steakhouse" experience. They had a lot of interesting apps and entrees and I hope we will come back in the future to try them. The karnivore platter was a TON of food. We got three platters for five people, plus an app and an entree. Each platter has five cuts of meat. The first three meats were ok; the last two were the real winners. They were marinated. Next time we will probably just order these, but all the meats were high quality. The banchan that comes w the platter is unlimited. The tteok app was really delicious! Overall this is a nice spot to have fancy kbbq. To me, our favorite traditional (and much cheaper) kbbq spot will always take the cake, but Karne has a great atmosphere and there were lots of dishes on the menu I wanted to try. I think this is a fun date spot and worth trying!

Extremely overpriced restaurant with mediocre food. In the heights so very nice boujee vibes.All the meats start tasting the same. Either marinated or not. They cook the meat for you so it felt chewy and we just had to swallow the pieces almost whole.For 5 people, we got the karnivore platter where the chef picks your meats. Ordered an additional prime beef ribeye and marinated beef short rib. We also ordered: Wagyu kimchi fried rice which barely had any meatTruffle mash potato which was too puréedCorn cheese which they tried to add a southwest touch to by adding bell peppers and pork belly that was essentially Smokey flavored like ham.Kured belly which was pretty much a thick slice of ham.Black sesame KFC which was pretty good and crispy.To me, the food wasn't worth the price tag. The service was ok as well. It felt like the servers were all over the place.

Karne is the move for the heights if you want a very trendy, high end Korean BBQ spot! Inside Karne you'll see a very upscale, elegant interior with lots of greenery! It's dark and trendy with neon signs and chandeliers. We got the special smoked old fashioned and rose colored glasses (lychee martini + raspberries) to start.Followed by the carnivore platter for two. Zachary walked us through the menu like a true pro and make our experience incredible. Highly recommend! Ask for Zachary.

What a freakin experience!!!! I've never had Korean bbq like this and yes it's not traditional per se but for what it is, I thought it was really well done. Shoutout to Tim, our waiter who was the best! Cooked all our meats medium / medium rare as requested with perfect grill marks and great suggestions. The only caveat is you better be comfy talking about your entire lives in front of the waiter you get because yes they do cook your meat for you but yes that also means they're all up innnnn yo' space for that time frame. It's kinda a lot with a long rectangular table of 6 people and the grill in the middle that your waiter has to reach over to cook on. The tables should definitely be u-shaped if this is their business model They saw it was a birthday on the reservation and the owner/manager (not even sure) and Tim brought us over some yogurt shoju that was made with some in house ingredients etcEvery cocktail we ordered was beautiful and had some sort of presentation. Def extra AF but loving it. All really tasty no complaints. With love, Jorge and Lemon Bar were the most reordered at our table. We ordered the Karnivore platter, 4 apps and 3 dishes to come along with our meal and it was definitely enough food for 6 of us all. Perfect amount I'd say we didn't have anything left overapps: octopus, caprese, krudo, black sesame fried chicken extras: kimchi fried rice, stirfry spicy chicken and cheese corndesserts: ube cheesecake (definite winner) and chocolate cake They even gave us a $50 gift certificate to come back??! Hello customer service? And pulled out a Polaroid to take a photo for us that came with a Karne branded magnet for your Polaroid to fit in. Most def not a regular occurrence but for special occasions and celebrations they really nail it.

First thing first, this place is definitely an expensive place and plan to spend roughly $100 per person at least if you are getting Korean bbq side. The restaurant is very spacious and surprisingly doesn't have the strong Korean bbq smoke and smell compared to other Korean bbq restaurants. I've had black sesame KFC (surprisingly good and very unique), kimchi short rib fried rice, kured belly (unique also), and karnivore platter. Overall food was good and service by Alan (or Allen?) was great, we were served 100% from beginning to end of dining. The food amount was decent and I was full by end of the meal. Their alcoholic beverage is FABULOUS, I would come back just to have their drinks! It was delicious and very unique. The restaurant does emphasize that they have the best mixologist in Houston, and I would agree to this (drinks are also not cheap and can cost as much as or more than appetizers). The only downside is the price, we spent about $150 per person with alcoholic beverage. I think the meal price is not as expensive if you are not getting the Korean bbq part.

Was here for a birthday with a big group. We got a private room with a couple of tables, which meant we had two grills (would be an issue, but then I realized they come tend to your meat for you). The mixed marinated meat plates were awesome, I wasn't as big of a fan of the corn cheese. Brussels sprouts were on the crispy side (A+ for me) and the mussels were perfect.Drinks were strong, but there was plenty of variety there (including one a few people got that involved the tricky art of blowing a bubble with a smoke gun and making it land perfectly on the glass - free entertainment while we had apps lol)Service was a bit slow, which was what landed me at 4 stars.

The meat was so good!!! I can't give enough stars and praise.Meat was tender the octopus was well grilled and cut. The service is off the chain. They really take care of their customer with care. The questions to pertain to your needs and preferences was a nice touch.

My family and I had a great time at Karne. Jarvis, especially made it memorable. He provided excellent service by helping us with the menu, giving us amazing recommendations and cooking our meat to our perfect doneness. The restaurant had a good lighting, great decor and good music to go with our conversations. Thank you!

Everything was wonderful! We came for the 75 cent martini special (Thursdays only for now) that was advertised on instagram! It took a little while to get service, but it was their first time trying the special out, but it got a lot of people in the door. It was a little rainy & windy, but the ambiance inside was very warm & calm. My party and I proceeded to stay for the regular dinner menu. We received excellent service by Jarvis, highly recommend him! We were then greeted by the owner of the steakhouse, Jason! Both men were very attentive to our needs and making sure we were enjoying our time! I will definitely recommend coming back again to Karne !
