The ambiance is an old school eclectic, if you know what I'm trying to get at. It's not traditional Japanese but also not modern Asian fusion. I think it's because of the neon lights. Service wise I thought it was on a slower side even though we came in at a time that was not very busy. The dishes I enjoyed were the Hamachi Kama (salmon collar) and the Beef sushi roll wrapped in soy paper. The former was well seasoned and had a nice crust; the latter very tasty and tender. Unfortunately the rest of our party loved to order fried foods: from tempura to cutlets, neither was worth writing home about. The sizzling plates like teriyaki salmon is pretty standard as well: big portion but over cooked.

Another New Year's Eve sushi date in the books! So happy we found this gem! It's in an unassuming little shopping area in a quiet part of town. Don't let it fool you! The parking lot looks like it fills up quickly, but it looked like there was street parking. We walked in around 5:20pm. Had to beat the NYE rush, and I'm happy we did! There was plenty of seating when we got there, but around 6pm, the restaurant was full. There was one larger party of about 10-12, and it looked like there could've been room for one (maybe 2) other larger parties of no more than 10. If you're a large party, I highly recommend you make a reservation. As a party of 2, we did not have a reservation, but I'm not sure if they take them for smaller parties. We sat in a nice booth along the wall. The decor was absolutely beautiful. It looked more expensive than the menu was! The prices are very reasonable. They're comparable to any $$ sushi place around town. The service was exquisite. Very accommodating, extremely welcoming. We felt like valued guests. The sushi was outstanding. We got a couple orders of salmon and yellowtail center cut sashimi that just melted in our mouths (special items). All of the sushi rolls were amazing as well. The sweet potato roll was probably my favorite. You can really tell the quality of a sushi restaurant by their sweet potato roll...no joke! The sweet potato was fried perfectly in tempura and wrapped in rice and seaweed, then topped off with an unagi sauce drizzle. Divine. And there's a melt-in-your-mouth seared tuna roll with spicy tuna inside and topped with seared ahi tuna that's drizzled in garlic butter and Japanese dressing that I'm still salivating about. It was such a lovely evening. We cannot wait to go back!

We tried this place for the first time this weekend and were SO impressed with everything: the food, the service, the prices, the menu... it was honestly incredible. We got veggie tempura, a sushi roll (I asked if they'd add Mango to a shrimp tempura roll and they said that was no problem - YUM), a chicken soba noodles lunch special, and an orange chicken lunch special. Everything was amazing and the servers were sooo kind, I always had a full drink and everything I needed. I'll be back!

We have a new love which is sushi so we love to try different places. JP Nori is one of those hidden ones but definitely worth visiting. Don't get geeked by the area or appearances because we had a great time here and, most importantly, some amazing food. Again, keeping in mind this is raw fish, it's important to note that the ingredients were fresh, the fish tasted amazing and we enjoyed every roll and piece of sashimi. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean, very relaxing environment and welcoming from the moment you step through the door. Do check them out and you'll not be disappointed!

We ordered take out while visiting family. When placing the order, the person taking it was friendly and efficient. Said it would take about 25 minutes and when we arrived about 20 minutes later, everything was ready to go. We ordered a lot of food (many mouths to feed!) so what we ordered and comments follow:Teriyaki chicken: made with dark meat so juicy and flavorful. The sauce was bit thick and sweet and those who ate it loved it. Orange chicken: meh in my opinion and one of the reasons for the 3 stars. The chicken was more like hard nuggets, thickly coated and the sauce just wasn't orange flavor...more like sticky, sweet sauce.Beef & broccoli: Again, the sauce was just meh but the meat was very tender and the broccoli was crisp tender.Lo mein: the pasta was over done, another reason for the 3 stars. The veggies were crisp, which we liked...just the noodles we mushy.Gyoza-fried: These were delicious. The sauce was light and flavorful and the gyoza was perfectly fried to a crispy outside and a tender filling that was really good. Cream cheese wontons: Fried crispy and the filling was a sweet cream cheese...they were a hit!Veggie fried rice: Rice done well and lots of veggies (maybe frozen mixed?) but had a good flavor.Three sushi rolls were also ordered: Avocado roll, Philly roll, and the Black dragon roll. Everyone agreed that the salmon in the Philly roll was too fishy smelling and tasting (sign of non-fresh fish) but the other two rolls were well received. I'm so picky about my sushi so none of these rolls cut it for me. Our order also came with white rice and the restaurants version of hot & sour soup. The soup wasn't good in my opinion and I was the only one who tried it. I love a good hot & sour soup but this was very thick and gelatinous and although it had an ok flavor...wasn't really very good.

We had a lovely lunch at JP Nori yesterday. The best thing is- and this is a rarity for Asian restaurants- you can get lunch specials on the weekend! So I went with a 3 sushi roll combo for $20 and Hubs had the Pad Thai lunch special. Both came with soup and salad. We both opted for the hot and sour soup and it was delicious. The salad was surprisingly good as well. My rolls were ok- of course the choices were the plain jane ones so I opted for spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and unagi. They were all serviceable. The pad thai was good - though a little sweet. It definitely needed the chili oil. My daughter had the gyoza and she gobbled that right up! Service is super friendly and it was a decent stop.

I think we just found an awesome little gem in our neighborhood! I'm so excited to find good sushi so close by. When we walked in we were greeted and taken care of immediately. The restaurant has a calm vibe with fun lighting, a giant Buddha statue, and comfortable seating. You can see the chefs working hard. Everything we had tasted very fresh, and the menu was quite large. The food came out quickly and there were multiple servers helping us. Each item was delicious. Try this place. We loved it so much we joined the rewards membership. Can't wait to go back. It's nice to have excellent sushi that we don't have to drive all the way to Denver or Aurora for!
