Johnny's Luncheonette

This place is 50's style starting with the exterior of the luncheonette right down to the counter and booths.I set down at the counter and had to wait for server. The man responsible for the booths also handled the counter.I had an omelette with cantaloupe, no toast or hash browns. The substitution was free. I had the south of the border omelette; salsa, guacamole, jalapeño peppers and cheese. The omelette had to be three eggs. I don't know what they do to get them so fluffy.There is a parking lot out front.The potion size was healthy.I would return in the future.

This used to be my favorite diner while I was in college. Went back for a visit after many years. I was sad they didn't have the grilled blueberry muffin but all our food tasted the same as before! Lovely place in a cute neighborhood.

This place is a local gem! It's a perfect spot to go with family or with friends.Food: I got the corned beef hash with potatoes. The hash was good flavor-wise but I wish the beef was portioned a little smaller so it could blend better. The eggs were solid but eggs are pretty solid everywhere. 7.5/10.Ambiance: So cute and there are just such great vibes here! The staff is very friends and it's a lovely local place. We went on a weekend and it was packed so you know it's reliable 8.5/10.Price: Pricing is pretty standard for a brunch place. My meal was about $15 and I was decently full 8/10.Would definitely go ahead if I'm in the area!

Classic diner food in Newton with a classic diner ambiance on the interior. Lacking the grease and townie/local charm of other diners in the northeast. Also has outdoor seating available in the warmer months. We arrived at peak Sunday brunch time and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table but were handed a buzzer. The wait ended up being even less than 30 minutes, seems like there's quick turnover. The menu was extensive and features many classic diner breakfast and lunch options, some with a twist. I had the grilled blueberry muffin which hit the spot. Portions were smaller than typical old school diner portions but food was as expected overall. A step in between the classic greasy American diner and a boutique brunch establishment.

Excellent service, clean restrooms, and an omelette cooked to perfection.They offer a healthy option to home fries; fresh fruit or a small salad. The salad was very fresh and tasty. I was seated promptly, and the refills on the coffee were prompt. as was waiter's response when I asked for my check.

My kids and I love Johnny's. I've been going there since my 20's and now it's a go-to for me and the boys. My 7 year old had the steak and eggs and asked me to write in the review that it's the best meal he's ever had!

The ambience is cool inside. Retro diner. My eggs Benedict was just okay. The eggs were over cooked, so there was no runniness whatsoever which was a disappointment. The hollandaise was pretty pain. I loved the breakfast potatoes, though. Without those, I might have rated it a 2.

I'd definitely next time come here for brunch as menu crazy, but I came for a late lunch and had The 50's Burger with special sauce. It was pretty good and I liked the sauce a lot and fries. Would get again. Awesome decor and vibe of a 1950's diner.

Hello everyone! If you travel through Boston area, take a moment and stop here for a bit to eat. Service was great and they accommodated my GF DF needs. Ask for Christian as a waiter, he took good care of me and my friends. Thanks for letting us sit there a bit longer and chat.

Never will come back here with my son again after being told we wouldn't be served if we didn't fold our stroller even though there plenty of other people bring their kids in strollers sorry but that's discriminating my infant son worst customer service!! I've ever seen They should be closed for discriminating against customers and childrenHe was in a stroller and we wanted to keep him in the stroller. Out of shock we accepted the offer for a high chair. What are they supposed to do if someone comes in with a wheelchair. Refuse them service.
