Small Italian eatery that had great service and decent food. I got the Veal Parmesan with Linguini. Sauce and pasta had good flavor, but the veal was overcooked and dry. Portions are large, and prices are decent.

Really good home made soups to warm you up on a cold Philadelphia day! Their blackened shrimp ceasar salad is also my go-to!

Maybe my expectations were too high. I can't deduct points for the oregano on The Cheesesteak especially since I ordered the cheesesteak Italiano that comes with oregano. The oregano did overpower the sandwich. I can deduct points for that because one ingredient shouldn't dominate the whole sandwich. I'm kind of interested in what a regular Cheesesteak would taste like and kind of not. Johnnie's does rate high on Google Maps. It may have just been a bad day or a bad order.

I ordered the fried "Homemade crab cake", definitely not the best crab cake ever, very greasy must use backfin crab meat for the base & very little lump meat at all. I also ordered the fried calamari fra Diablo, extremely greasy with a pool of grease in the serving dish, must use lemon and the cocktail sauce for some flavor & to cut some of the grease. I would suggest that the cook should look at and taste the food they serve.

I have to say the food is good and the people are always friendly. The only reason why I did not give them 5 starts is because someone from the back of the restaurant came to the counter with no mask. Also someone who worked there came in and went to the employee table with no mask. What the hell! There is a pandemic going on and the Governor had to make it official again to wear masks. I will be back after a vaccination.

Ordered from here on grub hub. It was so gross. It got here in 15 min which is great but it tasted like it had been sitting around all day and also cooked in whatever they cook their fish in. Three bites in I found a staple in my food. So disgusting. Literally the worst meal Ive ever had delivered. It doesn't even deserve one star.

Let me start by saying that before tonight, I recommended this restaurant to EVERYONE and ordered from here at least four times a month. This evening I ordered from Johnnie's via GrubHub which I've done 100 times. I don't like to rush anyone when I order so I do not follow up until it has been at least 5-10 minutes beyond the latest delivery time which, in this evening's case, was over an hour after I initially placed the order. So I call 10 minutes after my order was expected (at the lates) and advise the woman who answers the phone that I'm following up on a GrubHub order that I placed. She asks me the name, I give it to her. After a couple of minutes of speaking with someone else, she gets on the phone and tells me it was delivered 45 minutes ago. I explain that I never received the food, I have a Ring doorbell (which the instructions clearly state to utilize) and it was never rung, nor did it pick up anyone on my property. The woman says to me (I lie to you not), "are you trying to say your order wasn't delivered?" I said, "I am saying that it wasn't delivered to my address." So she ends up essentially calling me a liar, saying the woman who delivered my food has been to my house before and described the step. I was appalled at how she spoke to me firstly, because I am a paying customer (and I was a very large order) but secondly, because I am a regular. I explained this to her and I asked if there was a car on the sidewalk, she asked the delivery driver who said no. I explained that my vehicle has been parked on my sidewalk for the last three hours and any adult human would have had to squeeze through to get to my step. The woman on the phone said they are closed and she only answered the phone, "to be nice," but their delivery woman followed my instructions (false) and delivered where the directions told her. She then hung up on me. [Side note: I am currently sick with COVID and cannot go out to pick it up on my own, nor did I have the energy to cook or eat all day until I ordered this food.]In order, the reasons for this one star rating are as follows:Lack of accountability, the fact that my order was not delivered, that I was yelled at by the person responsible for customer relations for their delivery woman's mistake, that this order cost me $77 (which I'm sure GrubHub will take care of, but I genuinely hope it ends up coming out of the restaurant's pocket) and that there was ZERO attempt by Johnnie's to rectify this matter. I suspect the food was either delivered to the wrong address or the delivery woman took a decent sized dinner home to her family at my (but hopefully the restaurant's) expense. Frankly, as of late, the food has been extremely sub par especially given their prices, but I remained loyal. However, I will no longer give this restaurant my business. If this is how their customers are treated when a problem arises, one could order from any number of local Italian restaurants and the difference in quality is minimal. If you still intend on giving this restaurant your hard earned money (times are tough..), here are some tips:The Alfredo has no taste and is super oily, the gnocchis are always overcooked mush, usually the clams casino has more sand in it than any other single ingredient but I will say, the Chicken Pastina is always on point. Most everything else can be good (never great) or bad depending on who is back there cooking, but the price always knocks you over the head regardless of the quality and, if they mess up, they'll just blame you, yell at you, and then hang up on you. Just Beware and at least order pick up..

Not fancy but great food. It's been a while since I was here but the chicken Caesar salad and eggplant parm was like no other. Everything was nice and garlicky and cooked to perfection.
