Jim's West Steaks

Honestly speaking, on the path less travelled, Jim's West Steaks is a great find. I had recently read that Jim's West was an experiencing a rebirth under new leadership so off I went. This cheesesteak was L-O-A-D-E-D! After placing my order the chef got started on my order and seeing how much steak she loaded onto the grill, it was definitely impressive. She just grabbed a handful of steak over her head to the grill and started cooking asap. I asked for two steaks, one with provolone, mushrooms, and onions, the other with wiz, both came filled to the brim with steak. Definitely go for a generous sprinkle of salt and pepper at the end for better flavor, and surprisingly, for me anyway, I was asked distinctly if I wanted mayo, so I said why not. A dash of ketchup was the final addon to this Philly treat. The final verdict, tender chopped juicy steak, no gristle, not too cheesy (which I prefer), nicely cooked and not overdone. I definitely rank this is as a Philly best. For about $12-$14 a steak this was not just tasty but economical as well. Now, this was a bit off the beaten path for sure and the neighborhood, well, get your steak and go. There isn't much eat in space anyway. The good news is that a great cheesesteak will stay a great cheesesteak for a while.

Service was friendly and prompt. Tight space but neat and clean.Cheesesteak with fried o ions and cooper sharp. Steak was average, onions were over cooked and were placed on top rather than mixed in. Cooper sharp was lacking and was not incorporated in the meat. Price was good, sandwich was on the small size.Service 8.5 Taste 7.9Overall 8.1 out of 10

So I've been here since the reopening and the steak was cooked by a lady that used to make steaks for Jim's. But, I went back, a man made my steak it was ok, as before. The clinker was when the guy that put condiments on (and he had on gloves) reached and moved the tip jar (metal) off the relish and put his hand in the relish and spread on my sandwich!!I WAS DONE! It was not cute!

Newly reopened after few years of closured, Jim West Steak will never disappoint you. My husband is a native Philadelphia and he always talked about this place that he used to go. Since we will be town for few days, we didn't waste our times and we drove straight from the airport to Jim West Steak and wow we loved it and my husband had a blast from the past!This place is very clean, beautiful interior in black and white and the staffs were very friendly. I definitely recommend this place for quick delicious Philly cheese steak , although the line might be long to get your order due to the narrow room, but it's worth it.Thank you Jim West Steak!

Got two cheesesteaks very good. came up from Florida. Was visiting family. Next time I come up, I have to go to Jim's again.

My first Philly Cheesesteak of the year! They were very generous with the meats, but I do wish they had added more cheese to the meat ratio. The staff were quick and efficient with the food. They had a variety of toppings like pizza sauce, pickled jalapeños and peppers, and more (which I wish I tried). I would definitely recommend to give this place a go :)

Best cheese steak I've had in Philly and I've had probably 10 different spots and this is by far the best Super friendly staff for our food quick and with a smile! Not much seating but was very clean I got a wit wiz and it was incredible! Will be back for sure makes the drive it is absolutely worth it!

This place is AMAZING! It is sooo good we went back the next day and waited in line for a second time. It's so good ppl are willing to wait in for it. We got the chicken steak with mayo, cooper cheddar, sautéed onions, BBQand mustard. It did NOT disappoint at all! We had gone to another place (which shall remain nameless) that wasn't very good.Jim's had apparently been closed for the past couple of years and just recently re-opened, and you could hear the excitement that they were reopened listening to the people in line. Most of the ppl there both days said this is the best Philly Cheesesteak in town. We were akso told Jim's was the FIRST to put cheese whiz on a Philly Cheesesteak

The best service and Philly cheesesteaks ever. Unfortunately I couldn't take a picture of this 5 star meal, my stomach beat me to it. We drove from Texas to try this place out and met one of the owners. Overall incredible service and no surprise that it was packed! A big Texas thank you to the whole staff, thank you for making our experience memorable.

Best steak I had in along time fabulous food! Try it‍ you will stop any time you think of a real steak
