Jerk Man Island Cuisine

This business must be under new management. I've never had this poor of service before. To set the tone, I walk up and they just starting at me like I'm the one that supposed to say how can I help you. The lightskin lady that I'm use to seeing on the truck was very nice and professional. I order two plates and an egg roll, when my plates were done dude said you got an egg roll right, I think it's still ‍u think??? Ok 10 minutes later I go back up to the truck and say is the egg roll done he says my bad and gave me a hard as a rock egg roll, mind u dude took a whole 10 minute break as I'm waiting. I called them to let them know that was foul what they did and they offered another one. You should've never given me this brunt one in the first place. I referred a lot of people from wakemed where I work to these people, never again, this was some real BS!!! Take a look at this BS egg roll. After I'm home: I ordered a veggie plate with yams, cabbage, mac and cheese. Please look at this shyt!!! They have to be new owners, this has never happened. Who TF puts this much yams(that don't look like yams and taste horrible) on a plate, if you don't have the common sense to know that they yams shouldn't be in the largest spot, I should've been asked. The way this plate and egg roll looks, I'm questioning their cleanliness, a new truck don't make it clean or up to code. I wasted $40, the jerk chicken was basically baked chicken(not grilled, baked) with NO jerk sauce at all. They got me today! But they won't get me again!!! I hope that $40 was worth it!! NEVER AGAIN! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!

Best jerk chicken around! Stopped by here on my lunch break. Owners were so nice. Huge portions. I got the jerk chicken with rice and beans, cabbage, and plantains. Yum!

I ordered oxtails with rice and pea, and extra plantains today for dinner. When I tell you!!!!!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! The flavor was there and I loved how it was spicy but manageable. So thankful that I've finally found a great spot to get one of my favorite meals. Thank you all soooooooo much for all of your hard work, sweat, and tears. The food was perfect!! I wish you much success.

They sell curry GOAT!!!! And prepare it the way it meant to be made.... tender and flavored to perfection! We have tried many items off the menu and have never been let down!!! Oh and they make a mean candied yam and collard green !Thank you for your services!‼

Update- they added fried salmon bites to the menu and now our official regular order is one plate with curry goat with rice and mac and another with fried salmon bites with yams and mac. The goat and salmon are both divine. Huge portions, hot, flavorful, enough food for up to 4 people, you get your money's worth, and extremely satisfying.

I was driving down New Bern Ave and passed this food truck. Something told me to turn around and try it. I looked on Insta and their website for photos and the food looked delicious. When I pulled up to the truck there wasn't a line so I was a little hesitant but then people started pulling up so I said the food must be good. I ordered the medium jerk chicken with rice and peas and Mac n cheese. Needless to say the food was delicious and filling. The jerk wasn't too spicy and I really liked the Mac n cheese. The staff was nice and I was greeted with a smile. I will be returning and trying different items off the menu.

I usually enjoy the food here but the past few times have been terrible. I noticed the price change which is okay because everything is going up but I expect the quality of the food to either remain the same or be better. That hasn't been the case here prices going up, taste and presentation has gone all the way down. I don't recall the yams ever looking like baked beans and being watery. The jerk wings lacked flavor. I won't be back!

I ordered the salmon bites , M&c and greens. The other order was stew chicken rice and peas and cabbage. My salmon was a little heavy in the salt but once you eat it with everything it balanced out. I also ordered a patty. It was decent. But overall the food is really good.

I purchased two Beef Pattie's and they both were undercooked. They were greasy and doughy. I should've drove the extra 3 miles to Jerk Master's!

Food was great. Service was okay for a Jamaican food truck. Also the gas station it is at looks sketchy but overall. Average experience, nothing special.
