JAX Burger, Fries & Shakes

This is the best burger joint in Houston to me. Things I love: They cook your burger when you order. It comes out so hot it is hard to hold. They turn it upside down in the basket to keep the thin bun on bottom from getting soggy. They have delicious fries and onion rings, and they too are served hot. There is a great selection of soft drinks but it is hard not to order the milk shake or malt, because they are divine!! Very impressive food. The people are nice too. The building in Spring is an old Charlie's hamburger joint building but it is big and roomy. Come and Enjoy!

Great Burger & Fries with Great customer service. Was only missing the fried egg but overall my tastebuds and experience was 10/10!

Ah the shroom burger! So per good as always. Now I hadn't been to JAX in a few years and I was so disappointed that they changed their garlic fries. This was my favorite thing about Jax. But no more minced garlic. Just a nasty sauce. So sad about this. We used to drive far to get these fries. The other issue was the eating room temperature. The sun was hot and the room seemed to have no AC whatsoever on. We had to eat at the tall bar tables near the soda machine because that room was too uncomfortably hot.

This is my second visit.Located in an old building that has been painted and cleaned up inside. Decent parking lot. I visited once about 6-8 months ago and didn't have a good experience.But my friend stated that they made some changes and may have new management and some new crew. Also some new options on menu.Today I ordered the 5oz Avocado Swiss burger with Cajun fries. And let me tell you...this burger is a must try!Previous visit our order took a long time to get to our table, my burger was poorly assembled and meat had a lot of grease and it ruined the bun and it was a mess to eat.But not this visit, 100% improvement. The employee who took our order greeted us as we walked in, took time to answer my questions and took our order promptly. Food also arrived pretty quick.Food arrived and looked great, hot and fresh and tasted very very good.The burger I ordered was on a really fresh bun, meat was cooked perfect and no grease dripping so the bun was not soggy and all the toppings were fresh. Fries were hot and tasty too.Great burger, great service! Major improvements since my first visit...way to go to the staff and owner. I will come back again for sure. The AC was even working really good, my previous visit it was not.

I went to Jax's burger for the first time last night. It was great! All their ingredients are fresh and homemade. I had a handmade bacon hamburger that was to die for. Then I decided to splurge and have chili fries. Great decision on my part.! I can't wait to go back and try their Blue Bell shakes, and maybe a bowl of chili, or a chili cheese dog.My only critique, and it is minor because they have shakes, is that they don't have freshly brewed tea. Jax, could you add sweet and unsweetened tea to your menu?

Great burger place. The service was amazing each time we visited this place. I love the BBQ burgers, if you like a messy burger this is the place.

I'm going to give this place 4 stars. I mean there are better burgers out there, but for the price, I think this is a very worthy dinner option for your family! I appreciate when an establishment tries to offer a value. It's rare to find these days. Also, all the kids absolutely loved their shakes. Tasty.

An exceptionally good burger with thick shakes and great fries... all for reasonable prices!Came here with a group from work and it was not to busy. You look at the giant menu on the wall and walk up to the counter to order. There are not a ton of options but the burgers are all you need to order anyway... well that and a shake and fries.The burger was so flavorful! Truly a delicious meal that if I was closer I would be tempted to eat at more then once a week. The fries have some skin but are crispy and good (they have jalapeño catchup on the table and I suggest using it for EVERYTHING... accept maybe the shake. The shake is a thick cup of goodness... it might take a bit to get it going but it is worth it.The place got busier as lunch time rolled in and I can see why. The burger was awesome! The eatery is a little "hole in the wallish" but again the food is full of flavor and the location is really just filled with character.Well worth a visit! The next time I am back this way I will be stopping in again for sure!

I wanted to inform you that the burger I had at the restaurant was absolutely fantastic. It was truly the best burger in TX that I've ever had! The quality of the food was exceptional, and I must say, the customer service provided by Austin was impeccable.

The food is cooked fresh. The servers are super friendly. The ambiance is chill, in and outside.
