Perfect perfect Ethiopian food! Great ambiance, homely vibes! Very amicable staff too, great service!

One of my old friends is Ethiopian and her mom made THE best food. My family and I had previously gone to Blue Nile which was both overpriced and under-spiced lol. This restaurant however had the flavors that I remember and really poured on the seasoning! The waiter (who I believe was also the owner) was so helpful in helping us choose what items to order. Service was fast and food took a bit but nothing outrageously long considering we order SO much food.

JANO is what was previously Sheger. The restaurant looks great inside! Very nice/clean and a bit fancy. The food is still delicious. I typically order the Awaze lamb or beef tibs and a veggie combo. During most recent visit I only ordered the veggie combo which is super healthy and more than enough food on its own. I love this place and it is my go to Ethiopian spot. Nice ambiance, friendly staff/great service and fresh & delicious food. I should also add that my food is still hot and fresh from Bellaire to Pearland. Impressive.

If you're a fan of Ethiopian food, then you must pay a visit to Jano. Located on Bellaire Blvd and Chimney Rock rd. This hidden gem serves up some of the best Ethiopian cuisine in Houston. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with traditional decor and low lighting setting the mood for an enjoyable dining experience.The menu at Jano is varied and offers something for everyone, whether you're a fan of spicy dishes or prefer more mild flavors. I highly recommend trying the sampler platter, which allows you to taste a variety of dishes and see what you like best. The Doro Wat (chicken stew) and Kitfo (raw minced beef) are both standout dishes, with bold flavors that will have you coming back for more. The Injera (flatbread) is also a must-try, and is the perfect accompaniment to any of the dishes on offer.If you're new to Ethiopian food, don't be intimidated! The staff at Jano are friendly and knowledgeable, and will be more than happy to explain any unfamiliar dishes or help you make a selection. The food was cold. If it was hot, then it really would've been a home run, because it was decent at room temperature. Service was terrific!

My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary meal at Jano Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar. The ambiance of the restaurant, helped us relax and appreciate the experience. Neighborhood gem. Anyone who lives in Bellaire knows there aren't many option near south rice for outstanding food. This place is great. Owner staff are very attentive and food is outstanding. I'm not at expert of Ethiopian food, but have had the other options in town and Jano stands out.

The best experience by far for this well traveled foodie. Ethiopian is my wife's favorite restaurant to go to in any new city we visit. These wonderful people pour their heart into their business and it shows from the food to the service. We've eaten in major cities across the globe and this stands atop of them all. High-end dining in a simple and humble establishment The food was presented in a spectacular fashion and the meal delivered on every aspect. Taste, color, texture, display, spices, seasoning, and overall flavor is enough to shout it from the roof tops. Without a doubt, go here before any other exotic restaurant. You will rave too!! Amazing
