Last BBQ in HOU. Heard good things ab this place and wanted to give it a try. First off, this was much nicer than my stereotypical idea of what a BBQ is supposed to look like. A bit cleaner and bigger than some other spots I'd been to. It's not super loud and feels more like a restaurant than a BBQ if that makes senseCame in on a Wednesday around 5:30 and there was no line. Walked right up to order after checking the menu.Went with the 2 meat plate, pulled pork and brisket. My two sides were mac n cheese and this yummy tomato side. First of all, the sides were fantastic. Like both so freaking good. Gooey Mac n cheese and the tasty acidic tomatoes and feta. I also had a lemonade and mixed it w Iced tea and it was perfect on a hot day.The meats were a little subpar tho. My brisket was cold and the pork wasn't my favorite. This was the opposite of the pit room for me. This place had sides that kind of carried the experience. If I could combine the meat from the pit room and the sides from here, I'd have something special.Overall, pretty happy w my experience. Besides the coldish meat, it was very very good4/5

My family and I had a great lunch here!Walking in, the restaurant is a beautiful naturally lit space and it's such a plus for them to have a large parking lot out front (such a rarity for the area!). I got the two meat plate with brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage. The brisket was juicy and fork tender and the sausage had hefty pieces of jalapeno and cheddar mixed in. For my sides, I tried their brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese. One star down for the brussels because it was drenched in bacon grease, but the mac and cheese was super cheesy! They operate on counter service and they even have an outdoor patio. Will definitely come back!

I did a to-go order from here and got the 2 meat plate (brisket + ribs) and 2 sides (macaroni + green beans). Everything was delicious, very flavorful. I did curbside pick up and the process of calling to let them know I was there was very easy. It looks like a really nice place to go hang out. My only issue is that for the price, I was hoping there'd be a bit more meat. Otherwise, I'd probably return in the future

I was surprised I liked almost everything. I got fatty brisket. It was pretty good. The cheddar jalepeno sausage was not too spicy. Loved it. The BBQ sauce is also good... has a balance of sweet and spicy but on the spicier side. The coleslaw was great... the potato salad was a little meh/bland. The brussel sprouts had bacon in them, but I think it's the sauce that it's swimming in that makes it taste good. The refried beans were also good. We also loved the pickles.. they're a little cucumbery still.

Ambiance: Very large indoor/outdoor space that is perfect for hanging out, large groups, and watching a game while grabbing a drink and BBQ. Industrial/western themed with several murals and photo op spaces. There is a stage area outside for live music/events. Fans & heating lamps on the patio for weather control. As much I loved the space, the food itself was 3 stars IMO. The chopped beef sandwich tasted very burnt end heavy. The Mac & Cheese was served a bit cold and the side dishes were just okay. I did enjoy my husband's brisket. BBQ sauce was a bit more jam-like. Parking onsite. Incredibly child/family friendly. Nice outside bar setup. A bit confusing when it came to ordering. The sides are not listed on the large menu above the ordering buffet & it appeared some drinks were able to be purchased at the inside bar but not the outside bar. I would go back for the ambiance and maybe to grab a drink or split an appetizer with a group of friends. However, I don't see this being a "go-to" BBQ spot.

Came here for a UH basketball watch party. The game started as the restaurant opened but they were not quite prepared. Lots to love about this place but there were a few drawbacks. I wish I could give 1/2 stars because I felt they were close to a 4 star establishment. Pros: Beautiful building Easy parking Quick food serviceFriendly and helpful line staff Great drink prices Huge outdoor patio but TV's weren't initially working (no sound) Cons:Slow bartenders Some bartenders with an attitude (questioning our tab after they lost it. Like we were lying) Mac and cheese was lukewarm Sides were pricey. (I don't eat barbecue so I ordered 4 sides. With tip it was $25)No sound on the game

When in Downtown Houston and craving amazing, smoked bbq meats, look no further!Make sure to go early though as they often sellout around 3pm. To go available should you wish to eat later.I've eaten here twice and had their 2 meat platter with two sides and loaded baked potato! Both were more than enough for my robust appetite! Must try, beef brisket, ribs, jalapeño sausage and gooey mac and cheese!Note that this establishment is relatively casual and served cafeteria style. Staff are nice too.

Holy smokes, this is some great BBQ! We stopped by here for dinner after an Astros game. We looked at numerous BBQ joints around town but I felt called to give this place a try! The atmosphere is so cool, clean and modern. Taxidermy covers the walls. The front of the restaurant is a wall of glass. There is PLENTY of seating both inside and out. (We ate inside). Outside has it's own bar and live music. The guy at the counter was super friendly and helpful. When we told him it was our first visit, he welcomed us there. You order at the counter and take your food to your seat. No table service... not a problem with us... still a bit odd to ask for 18-22% tip when you pay when you don't have a server. (Maybe it's just me.) I went with the Turkey Sandwich with fries ($14) and my husband got the 2 meat plate ($27) with Brisket and sausage with green beans and fries. The food was INCREDIBLE. I got the Turkey sandwich because someone mentioned it was the best Turkey sandwich they've ever had and... well... I have to agree. It was so simple: Turkey and Texas toast but yet it was fantastic. The meat was moist and delicious. My husband loved his meal. I got to sample a bite of the brisket and it was so tender and juicy! Yum! The fries and beans were so good as well, though, we both agreed, we felt the portion size of the sides was a bit small. There are 2 kinds of BBQ sauce: a Carolina style mustard one and Smokey/sweet/spicy one. At first taste, I didn't care for the mustard one but after I gave it a second try, ummmm... I loved it. I slathered it on my Turkey sandwich. The other one was good as well but something about that Carolina twang that stole my heart. The prices were a bit high but I know lots of work goes into BBQ. The one "negative" if you want to call it that, was that there was some photographer there. Now, we had no idea who this person was. When he came over to our table and asked to take our picture, we let him. We didn't know if he was someone taking marketing photos for the restaurant or something. (Our church for instance sometimes has marketing photographers for social media, website, etc.) Anyways, a few minutes later he came back with three 4x6 or like 5x7 photos. He asked if we liked them. Ummm... sure??? (I wasn't quite sure why I would want a photo of just myself or just my husband with a plate of BBQ but nonetheless.) Then he says $20 each! I felt put on the spot. $20 each??? $60 for all 3... Seems steep. We can print out a photo taken of us at Walmart for like .19 and put it in a frame for like $2.00. It was a bit awkward and I was like, "Ummm... can we say no thank you?" And he took them and walked away. Seems like a waste of photo paper to surprise people with $20 photos and throw them away when they don't get them. I don't know. The guy has to make $, I guess, but it felt a bit uncomfortable. If he's there regularly, we'll know next time to just tell him no at the start. Again, we didn't know if he was for marketing of the restaurant and thought we looked so nice, he wanted us on the website? Haha. We loved it here. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back!
