this place is permanently closed. The one and only time that I visited the owner was very nice. I dropped by because I thought that they served cooked fish.

This is the only place in Houston where I will buy seafood. It is always fresh, never frozen. The seafood is of excellent quality. There is a HUGE difference in the taste of J and R seafood and seafood bought at grocery stores, including Whole Foods (mostly frozen). Quick in and out, good customer service.

Only the freshest seafood. Owner operated which is evident from the focus on customer service.

Always the freshest fish in town. You'll never find a bone in any of the custom cut fillets.

Be very careful about any purcahses from J &R. Their longtime and well deserved reputation for fresh, high quality seafood is definitely in jeopardy. I reserved and purchased a $20 container of lump crabmeat there this week, and wasassured by the employee who sold it that it had "come in that morning." When I got home and used it in a caserole I was serving for lunch that day, it was fishy and old tasting.
