I haven't had J&J's in years and used to stop by for fries and pizza. It was cheap, affordable and decent.Recently, I decided to order from J&J's and I was blown away. I ordered their family special which included two large plain pizzas, two hoagies (I got Italian), and a 2 liter drink for about $45 in total. The pizza had ample amounts of sauce and cheese with a thin crust but thick enough to be chewy. The slices don't fall apart either and hold well. All in all, it's a great pizza for the price.The Italian hoagie was amazing though. The bread was just right that it didn't get soggy and held in everything. There's the usual fix-ins and there was plenty of meat. Best of all, the hoagie wasn't dry and had plenty of oil and vinegar! Each bite was delicious and tasted exactly like the first bite. I have to say, it's been years and I don't remember it being this good but I'm happy with the quality of the food. Everyone loved it and I'm definitely going to order again.

ordered a grandma pie & tossed salad with italian dressing (no olives. no peppers) on doordash. doordash is awful & kept pushing back my delivery time. legit +45 minutes. BUT. my food from j&j was still hot & delicious af. i got a grandma pie with extra cheese -idk why i added extra cheese. the pie didn't need it at all. the salad was fresh & crisp.

i had a hankering for a cheesesteak, but i'm also vegetarian, and the nearby places only had meat-based cheesesteaks, so i came here and low and behold they had a veggie hoagie ($10.75)! this one came with fried eggplant, roasted peppers, broccoli rabe & sharp provolone...i skipped the cheese, so it was basically vegan, bread & veggies! but i gotta say, this 12 inch sandwich was so good and very filling...the eggplant was maybe a tad too fried, but it still tasted good. i appreciate a sandwich that has a lot of filling so that it doesn't seem like i'm just getting a bunch of bread.hubby already had his cheesesteak, but he wanted to try the cheese fries ($5.75). he chose right b/c these fries were smothered with cheese wiz, the philadelphia delight! this was a bit too rich for me, but i had to try some, just cause, and these were actually really good! golden fried and crispy, with a dollop of cheese wiz in every bite!service was a little slow and we think the customer who ordered after us was served before us, but after a few minutes, our hoagie & fries were ready.lots of seating inside, also a bathroom in the rear. definitely recommend coming here on foot, or bus, b/c there isn't much parking around.

Terrible service, food took forever, it is also kind of gross inside of the place. The more I read the reviews, the more complaints I hear about the lady at the front desk. She is very rude. The food was okay. The pasta had very little sauce and the sauce had a watered down flavor. The garlic parmesan wings were good though.

Dad and uncles favorite pizza place for as long as I can remember. We typically get a sausage and a pepperoni. Super greasy but that's what makes it delicious. Pop it in the toaster oven the next day for a perfectly crispy bottom.The chicken wings are also a favorite

Ordered takeout from here a couple times now and it's a solid pizzeria. Delivery was super quick, plus 15% off all online orders, tracking is seamless through the Slice app, etc. Menu is varied and they offer a ton of pizza/wing/soda party deals, plus I think all-day breakfast sandwiches and waffles, which is good to know. Pizza is a tad pricy ($20 for the large) but overall it's good. It's a very acidic tomato sauce and I'm more keen on a sweet sauce, but it definitely hits the spot and the crust holds up nicely. Fried chicken is pretty bomb actually (ordered a 6 piece of this mistakenly from the Apps section because I thought it was 6 buffalo wings, so my B). Will definitely continue to order from here!

We ordered from J&J South Philly Pizza tonight for the first AND LAST time. Their food is disgusting and not prepared properly and tastes awful.The gnocchi ala vodka was worse than spaghetti-o's . The Corned Beef Special came as a triple decker sandwich with canned corned beef, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise on rye bread . The cheese cake had no taste at all, which, considering the rest of our meal, might have been a blessing.

I never write reviews, but the woman behind the counter who took my order made me write this. I've never experienced worse customer service from anyone. She doesn't need to be take away from interacting with customers, she needs to just be fired. I've been here 4 times since moving within a block of this place and she is the same way every time. The pizza is good for the price so that's what kept me coming back, but i've had enough and they won't get mine or any of my friend's business anymore.

Where do I start, I came to this establishment early this week and I have to say I was really impressed.I don't usually leave reviews but this one has to be done,the pizza tasted great with the also great customer service.I have been to many pizza places in that area and this sticks out for one of the best slices in Philly.I will be attending this pizza place more often.
