Itacate Mexican Food

Wow wow wow! I was not expecting such an incredible meal up in Northglenn (though I don't frequent Northglenn so I'm sure there are lots of hidden gems I'm unaware of).We decided to try Itacate based on Yelp reviews and I've been craving this place ever since.Let's start with the Birria Tacos. I don't think I've had better Birria Tacos anywhere and I have tried a lot of them because they're my fav. And I was pleasantly surprised by the refried beans too! The entire dish was packed full of flavor. I'm salivating just writing this review.The service is outstanding as well. We were warmly greeted and treated like family from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The restaurant isn't anything fancy but it was clean and looked like it could accommodate some larger parties (I recommend calling ahead if you have a party larger than 8 though because they'll have to push some tables together for you). It's also in a strip mall but all of the hidden gems are.Such a pleasantly delicious experience. I will absolutely make the drive from Lakewood to Northglenn for this food and service.

Food, service, and ambiance is all great. Family owned. Shop and eat local to help out small businesses!!Try the frozen margaritas! This is an authentic Mexican (Mexican City, Mexico) type food. Anyone with bad reviews was probably because they're were expecting typical Coloradan style Mexican. This is not New Mexican food. Open your mind to different flavors. The corn ribs are my favorite.

Food was delicious, we gad the Baja Steak and Chilaquiles! The service was amazing and the inside is beautiful (: such a great family experience! Will be back with photos (;

Service was excellent, food not so excellent. Ordered the corn ribs as an appetizer because we never had them anywhere, you'll probably like it if you love corn. I ordered three tacos, Carne Adobada, shrimp and fish taco. They charge an extra dollar each for shrimp and fish tacos, I got charge an extra dollar on all three. Very small restaurant and I try to support small business when I can, but apparently this type of Mexican is not for me!

Typically don't eat out for lunch but left my sack lunch at the house and decided to swing into Itacate to check it out. Service was superb and the food followed suite. Got the skirt steak plate- delicious! Will definitely check them out again when in need of a good, quick, quality lunch.

Yay, finally good Mexican food in Northglenn Colorado!! Coming from southern California I'm spoiled when it comes to Mexican & so far I've been pretty disappointed, until now...This place could hold it's own in San Diego & that's saying something. Everything I tried was really good, their free chips and salsa (so good), their taco's (fantastic), their beans & rice- all great- really great!!I've spent some time in Cancun & the food here most resembles the food I had there. The carne asada, the shrimp, the birria, the tibil was all super tasty.The service was great they are really nice and check on you & talk with you. The ambiance is nice, it's a new Mexican restaurant, decorated nicely, mid size.Needless to say, I highly recommend this place & I will be a regular. I'm looking forward to further exploring their menu!Happy eating!!

First time to Itacate. Came to get takeout (& marg) and check out the restaurant. Nice place, medium busy. Sat at bar which is comfortable and spacious. The house margarita is a little sweet but tasty. Gave 5 stars but it doest reflect the food. TBD

I want to start off with the service which was very good . Our server was very pleasant and provided excellent service. The place itself is pleasant but kind of plain and it was very clean.We ordered corn ribs for an appetizer, they're slices of corn on the cob,spiced and grilled. My son ordered tacos while I ordered steak fajitas. My son has been to Itacate on numerous occasions and he loves it.The steak fajitas were just OK, kind of standard fare. The corn ribs were good but not my cup of tea. I thought the prices were fair for the amount of food you receive. Would I return to eat here ? I would try this place again, but not for the corn ribs or the steak fajitas. I would try tacos next time since that is what my son orders when he visits .

Clean and friendly staff, I got the birria tacos. They're good and normal quality. The rice wasn't my style with carrots and peas in it.
