Island Sizzle

Island Sizzle is a small stand alone building on an island. You will see what I am talking about if you visit! There is no dine in. I ordered the Ox tail and Jerk Chicken from the window from a gentleman. The food came out fast! The oxtails were $13.99 Wow! What a deal! It came with 2 pieces of oxtails, 2 plantains, cabbage and rice and beans. The oxtails were wonderful! Good flavor. Tender. What it should be! The rice and beans were cooked well. No complaints there. Cabbage was good.The Jerk chicken $12.95 (dinner) was pretty dry but still edible. If you're looking for a quick, fair priced meal that will get you full try Island sizzle!

Pros: portion size was great! You get bang for your buck, plus the food stayed hot for a long time which I liked. Oxtails were flavorful and I love plantainCon: the rice and sides aren't flavorful. Jerk wings were ok, but wanted to try curry goat. They were outOverall: reminds me of a drive thru chain for Caribbean food. I prefer Cool Runnings but support small businesses

We did not get to try the beef patties, they were out. But I ordered the jerk chicken. It did not taste like jerk. It tasted like brown stew chicken. The vegetables weren't bad, and the rice was good. The plantain was sweet, good.

I hate to do this to a small black owned business but the food was flavorless and just outright a disgrace to the Caribbean culture. I would not recommend and never go back. Caribbean Cuisine on Richmond is where I'll take a road trip to; very disappointing.

The ox tail is fantastic and the chef is very nice. Glad to find a Jamaican place close to me. Went back 2 days in a row after discovering the place.

Best stewed oxtail in town. And big portions. No sit in but I usually park in the parking lot to devour.

Having in laws from the West Indies and being a former Floridian I miss this food like crazy! My daughter and husband's oxtail was cooked and seasoned perfect as was my curry goat. The beef patties were delicious and had just a faint hint of heat. We will be back weekly lol.

Yesterday was my first time visiting here and when I tell you this food was so good, it was amazing! The oxtails were perfectly seasoned and tender the meat easily fell off the bone, rice and cabbage also flavorful as well and I usually don't eat plantain but these were also very tasty as well. The nice man that took my order was very patient and provided me with more information about the menu and what they have to offer and the food came out so quick as well! I definitely plan on returning soon to try other menu items.

OK, so I'm talk texting because I have food poisoning and my stomach is in knots. I went off of the good reviews thinking the negative reviews were just negative Nancy's. I don't usually leave reviews but I'm hurt tht my ppl are still out here getting over on our ppl I paid 22.03 on oxtails that got me sick . The good reviews are all liars and or family who is used to this type of cooking ! 0-10 recommend and this is with love idk if they have a new cook but it was a older lady and male back there but the food was horrible like I really don't even know where to BEGAN ! Literally my card wouldn't slide ,had to drive down the street and come back to unlock my card tht was my first sign from God but I forced it and now I'm sick lastly this picture was taking after 2 people TRIED EATING ! Oxtails we're definitely old as well no flavor and insanitary !

I ordered the curry chicken plate and it was very flavorful. We really enjoyed it. Wish we had more plantains.
