Island Grill

Glad I was finally able to try out this place! With so many good places in the Houston area, sometimes we take for granted new places, but also want to support the places that we like so they stay in business. So when the bakery I usually frequent across the street was full, I decided instead of waiting or trying to maneuver the inside of the bakery with 3 young children alone, to go over here because they had halal meat (chicken and gyro options). I was really happy that we were able to find close parking on the street but we usually park a little further down in the parking lot behind all the buildings when we visit city place. I heard that there is free parking in a garage nearby but I did not see any free parking in a garage; the only parking garage I saw had a sign that it was employees only.I saw a picture of what I wanted online and went with the Mediterranean plate which I have to say-- is pricey for the amount of food that you get. I expected it to be larger or for this price (almost $20) I expected it to cost less. Either or. The children options are really nice, they got the basics things, my kids were able to get the small pizza and a halal chicken meal that they enjoyed. I liked that they had a couple of different types of teas to try (ginger peach and black current) because it gets boring to only just have a sweet or unsweet tea option at restaurants. I tried the cookie that you get with the children's meal, and it are really yummy, I regretted not purchasing a few of those separately. We especially love the fact that they had frozen yogurt for a sweet treat after the meal. The inside of the place was very aesthetic looking and we are looking forward to visiting again soon.

You know a place is good when you come back multiple times during one work trip. I first came for lunch and had chicken kebabs. Yum. I noted the great looking bar and came back for dinner at some point. I then had cocktails (good) and a stuffed pita pocket thing, which was excellent. Something with chicken and avocado and other goodies. That was memorable enough that I had it again the next dinner visit. To be clear, it's semi fast food Mediterranean, so it's not top-notch Mediterranean. But the food tastes clean and flavorful, it's faster than "real" Mediterranean, and the service was great. I remember Jessica and Allison being great, and I forgot other names. And the vibe is mixed. You order up front and take a number. Much of the restaurant is open and light and airy, but not a ton of ambiance. BUT there's a nice wrap-around patio, and the bar area - while not very big - is great. Really nice looking bar.For clean eating, pretty quick turnaround, good service, and fair value, I'll also seek this place out when in the area.

The parking is very limited out front, I believe there is a parking garage in the strip center. They have plenty of seating, bar seating and patio as well. You do have to order at the counter and seat yourself, then they bring your food to you. That part was a little confusing because they didn't have anything that said "order here" if they did we didn't see it. I wanted a strawberry margarita on the rocks, but they were unsure if they could make it which I found odd so I settled for the frozen. I'm not a big fan of Mediterranean food, but this pita was sooo good!!! The pita was crisp on the edges and soft in the middle. The chicken was very flavorful and the veggies were fresh!! The hubby cleaned his plate like I had been starving him . Both drinks were good no complaints there. We will be back so I can expand my palate as there were some other tasty items on the menu I want to try!

I had higher expectations for the food based on reviews. The environment was lively and the place was busy. Service was very good as well. I got the falafel plate. I enjoyed the falafel but it wasn't as flavorful as I would hope for. Hummus was the same. The pita was a little disappointing because it was dry. Silver lining was the soft serve! This is a great casual place for a meal but I was hoping for elevated flavors. Try them yourselves though!

Some Mediterranean flare to the Springwood's Village area. Can't say I really took advantage of their offerings this go but I definitely intend on coming back; even if my tastings were light and not even leaning toward their specialties. They have a pretty extensive menu offering breakfast, lunch, dinner along either fresh pressed juices, smoothies, espresso & a full bar. They are bound to have something that you fancy. My trip was pretty late so I opted for light fan fare of Soup & Pita $7.50 - tomato basil was my choice. Great hearty soup with soft, fresh pita slices. They have plenty of seating options to hold a good crowd. This is another great option within walking distance from CityPlace Marriot.

Really great find tucked into City Centre near The Woodlands! We went for happy hour and loved their deals on food/drinks. The Margherita pizza was a bit on the simple side, but we really enjoyed it. The falafel bites were really good and the hummus was enjoyable. I loved the Sangria and their drink menu was fairly extensive. There is street parking available and lots to walk to after finishing at Island Grill. This is a great spot if you're staying in City Centre or visiting Spring/The Woodlands. The service was quick and our bartender was friendly. The ambiance at the bar was nice, however the main dining area itself felt fairly generic. This is a great spot for a quick bite or to grab happy hour!

This place is consistently delicious. Their beef kabobs are marinated perfectly and are always so tender and juicy. My husband orders some type of lamb dish and he says that it's delicious as well. Their hummus is a bit lacking for me - I would rather it have a bit more flavor but it's still pretty good. The garlic sauce is so good I always get extra. They also have free ice cream! Parking is the only draw back - sometimes I've had to park very very far bc there is no parking but that's just how it is for places in this area.
