Lovash is one of our go to's for Indian takeout/delivery. As someone who loves Indian but has a dairy allergy, I love that I can get vegan saag here and the tofu vegan saag tastes just like saag paneer to me...winning! The husband really likes their chicken tikka masala or lamb vindaloo. It's quick, inexpensive and high quality, plus portions are most definitely sufficient. Recommended, especially for those with dietary restrictions.

reasonable prices, lovely staff, tasty food. This is not a super formal, multi course, date night establishment but this IS a phenomenal (seems to be family run?) authentic Indian restaurant where they will treat you well and feed you even better. No reservation needed, classic menu. I'm not from Philly but if I were, this would be in my regular rotation. Comparable to my favorite Indian places in New York.

The food is good. However, I NEVER get the spice level I request so it's kind of annoying.

we were walking down south street last week and i could smell good indian food in the air (i can tell), saw this place right across the street. we had unfortunately just eaten but knew we'd be back to try it out. got there this past weekend and i'm so happy we thought to come back it was a great experience. we were sat immediately, our server was very nice and attentive. we started with samosas and they were much bigger than i expected! i've had a lot of samosas in my day and these were definitely top 4, very solid and would definitely order them again. for the main dish i had rajma aloo for the first time and it was fantastic, if i didn't want to try more of their other dishes so bad i would come back for it OFTEN. my fiancée got the chicken saag and thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. the only thing i wasn't a huge fan of was the bread we chose spinach parantha, it was alright and served it's purpose as a vessel for our food but i'm definitely trying their regular naan next time we go. they also have a bathroom for customers that is very confusing to find but i'm just happy they had one, most places don't and our waitress was happy to direct me to it. i also got a coupon for checking in on yelp this time so shout out to yelp for that :)

Great delicious food at very reasonable prices. Has decent seating ambience for about 30 inside and a couple of people outside. Service very quick and has live kitchen counter for those who are interested to see how Indian food is cooked. Great joint if you are passing by south street.

This restaurant is easy to miss if you're meandering down South Street. Neatly tucked away between 3rd South and 2nd South Indian Kitchen has a small footprint. Walking aside I'll admit the seating layout left much to be desired but the Chicken Tikka Masala I ordered was incredibly tender. The flavor profile was decent but the only reason this restaurant didn't warrant 5 stars was the service. My server wasn't attentive in the least and one of the line cooks(who's name I can't remember) more than filled in the gap. Still it was precarious sight seeing something have to jumó off the line to check on you/serve your food. A solid meal but I wouldn't go out of my way for this place. In a city packed with stellar Indian cuisine I would recommend looking elsewhere for a premier dining experience.

Been here a few times. Love the jalfrezi & Rogan Josh curries. So good. Just tried their south indian additions. Will definitely be back to try the new curries and dosas. Way better than other south indian places in the city

We recently used Lovash to cater a celebratory dinner for about 15 graduate students here in our home, several blocks from the restaurant. What a success! Everything was delicious and the attention to detail was exceptional. Chef Mohan helped us create a menu to meet the expectations of the guest of honor and then he personally supervised the on-time delivery of the food and help us set it up. Quantities were generous and the cost entirely reasonable. We thought we would have left-overs for the next day, but once we suggested that our guests take a bit of the food home, they eagerly packaged up everything. We've always known that the restaurant was good, but this catering experience added a new dimension.

update. this is my fave indian spot in all of philly. my picture sucks tbh but the service is amazing & the food is great. i have to beg them to make my tikka spicy but otherwise loveeee it! i know this is important to some: the bathroom is not accessible to some disabled people. it's on the second floor and there's no elevator.
