Hyde Park Kitchen + Bar

What happened?? I loved this place when I lived here a year ago. Tonight both the service and food was horrible! The young lady who took our order at the counter (for outside dining) was so pissy. I bristled at her attitude but wrote it off to just me until she brought out two of our three drinks, slammed them on the table and in the most unfriendly way said "Golden eagle. Memento mori" and walked off. So then my friends all commented on how rude she was and I knew it wasn't just me. Poor little thing in a muscle shirt trying to act all surly. What a joke.The drinks were lame. The vanilla bean was a waste of a most excellent William price liquor. Watery and gross. None of the drinks had a good flavor profile or any depth. Nasty. But the real disappointment was the food. The beer pretzel came with mustard that I kid you not must have had ipa poured into it. Watery and bitter- so gross. The short rib ragu tastes like chef boyardee was at work back there. And it used to be a favorite of ours. I could have really ruined my night and ordered the beet goat cheese terrine that I always loved here but I opted to cut my losses and leave. Absolutely horrible.

My friend and I visited the Space Center near by, and were looking for a place to eat after. YELP led us to this place!We first walked to Nobi next door, took a look at the menu. Then came to Hyde, and it was a good crowd and vibe, so we stayed. We didn't need a resy, but they have couches at the entrance if in case you need to wait for a table. We were quickly seated. They were about 70% full, good sign. I liked their open kitchen and the cozy looking bar. Service - I can't remember our server's name, but she was great. I didn't get the receipt, so I can't even look back on it. But she was young, bubbly, and full of suggestions.Food - we ordered the pasta and a pizza to split. And the pizza was very yum. We ordered half Blanche Devereaux and half pickle pizza, after consulting with our server. Both sides were very tasty, I would order this combo again. But the pickel pizza was my favorite. The idea sounds weird but so tasty. Would definitely come back for pickle pizza. My friend was already planning her next trip to come down here again midway through her meal, lol. The brie alfredo pasta was interesting & good. My friend thought it was delicious. You be the judge and try it.We realized later on in the evening that Nobi, Hyde, and Gelato are all the same owners. The business seems to be doing well, and their pizza game is strong.

They have an amazing meatball sandwich and a few other good dishes. I'm not a fan of their baby kale salad or their wedge salad. Their pizzas are good but definitely not the best around.

Good food that came out fast and fresh. Really liked the pizza but we tried basically everything on the menu and buying was bad. I enjoyed the Ellington cocktail as it's named after the nearby airport that is now over 100 years old! The drink was solid even without the cool name.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while especially since they have a wood burning oven and it has a really nice ambiance in the area. Not sure if their heater was broken because it was so cold inside that everyone dined in their covered outdoor patio where the warm heaters were. Our pizza came out so fast even before our roasted cauliflower appetizer. I had to go ask for our order. The lady said their pizzas always come out fast. That was the first for me at a pizza place and when I tasted it I could see why. We ordered the "Glad to Meat Y'all" with a crisp crust. Needless to say, the crust was soft and the sausage was cold. I was very disappointed as I was hoping this place would be my new go to in this area. Well, it's no Gypsy Poet and we most likely will not be returning. I must say the roasted cauliflower tasted better than my pizza.

Great vibe! The pizza was delicious and the drinks were refreshing. Great place for some good food and drinks :)

This place is a regular for me and my family. With a variety of foods it always hits the spot. My go to is the cold cut trio, my girls like the pizza and spaghetti and meatballs ( just one huge meatball to be exact), and my husband decided we switched it up this trip and try there pickle pizza, which was awesome. Service is good, and love the option to sit inside or outside. Good spot for a date or just family time.

One of our favorite go-to local date night places. Consistently good food, great atmosphere and ambience, kept clean and well-maintained (except for the parking lot!) Counter service ordering and self-service for water, utensils; you'll get a number and your food and drinks will be brought out to your table. Unique flavors and good quality food and beverages. Love love love the beet terrine. Stopping in their connected Gelato shop afterwards is a fun way to end a great meal.

I am in love with this place. Upon arriving, staff members were friendly and welcoming. They were always reading the room and checking on everyone needing service. I sat at the bar and was served quickly.I had the wedge salad and the shorty with broccolini and both were amazing. The menu had so many items I was excited to try, so I will have to be back and try more.This environment was mid level volume. It's a nice place for a date, early dinner, or even just a chill evening with friends. I would definitely recommend also trying to gelato spot when done. It was a perfect end to a good experience.

Went during a Saturday afternoon with my fiancee. Clean environment, relaxing, good service, wine was great, and food was solid. We started off with a board, got two different pizzas, and had a bottle of wine. Plus there's a gelato restaurant attached to it as well! Will definitely be coming back.
