Great Mediterranean Food near Penn campus!!! Found this place on a whim and boy was it tasty! Ordering was quick and easy at the counter. The cashier was friendly and nice. The best part was I didn't have to wait long for food either! And the food is priced fairly for Philly. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter with fries, hummus, baba ghanoush, and tomato cucumber salad mix! Everything was delicious, except the baba ghanoush. The egg plant spread was too strong of tahini or sesame paste, which put it on the more bitter side. Plus it was an additional fee, so I'd pass next time. Loved the hummus. Good thing bc they have hummus in their name haha. Ambiance was cozy, casual and hot. Ventilation could be better, but they have outdoor seating as well! Definitely would come back to try more sandwiches, platters and other goodies on the menu!!TldrFood 4/5Service 4/5Ambiance 3.75/5

Stopped in for a quick meal on Eid to celebrate the holiday with a friend. I was super hungry after working a long shift right before this so I was super excited to eat. This place is a little hole in the wall type place across the street from the UPenn campus whose inside is super casual, mostly takeout and pickup orders, and sort of looks like a cross between a restaurant and a bodega. I walked to the back of the restaurant where there is a place to put your order in and see the menu. I ordered a lamb platter and for the platters you can choose 3 sides so I chose hummus, tabouli, and cucumbers. It also comes automatically with a pita (choice of white or whole wheat) and French fries. After ordering you sit back at a random table and wait for the cashier to call your name. Took me about 15 min for my name to be called. This whole meal was amazing and super cost effective at like $13-14. The lamb was well seasoned, flavorful, and juicy. The hummus was super delightful, smooth, and the highlight of all my sides. The tabouli was just okay with a little too heavy on the parsley for my personal preference. The cucumber was refreshing and also well seasoned. The fries were crispy and for me, an always needed side. And the pita...wow... just so fresh, I was able to rip it open to reveal a beautiful, even pocket inside. I decided to dip half of it and pick up small pieces of lamb, hummus, etc. and then I used the other half to make a pita sandwich. If I am ever back in the neighborhood, I will definitely have this again! Wish there was something like this near where I live.

So fresh! Some of the freshest fast-style food I've had in Philly. If you like to eat plant based you'll be in heaven here. The Greek salad and stuffed grape leaves were both perfection! I also got the portobello sandwich in pita with tzatziki, tomato, cucumber, and red onion. They did not skimp on the mushrooms which I really appreciated, although they were a bit over cooked and dry. But the rest of the veggies made up for it, especially the cabbage which was so flavorful. I'm going to be honest the hummus was on the bland side imo, but it was silky smooth. The pita is super fluffy, I really enjoyed it. Much of the menu is build-your-own style so you can customize everything to your taste. You can really tell that they care about making good food here with the quality and freshness of the ingredients. I can't believe it was my first time trying Hummus Grill! Don't overlook this place for a healthy and tasty meal.

I think this place is such a nice fast-casual spot! Recently tried it and got a lot of food for a good price. The hummus and shawarma are very good. We also met the owner and he was very nice and chatty. Asked us how our food was. Would definitely recommend if you want a quick lunch with some good food!

Fast casual space with super tasty hummus, falafel, and fresh pita bread. The falafel sandwich was delicious. My only gripe was the hummus sandwich that my kiddo selected. It was literally hummus in a pita bread, which wouldn't have been so bad, but the hummus was soupy (it's delicious but very soupy) and it must have been a full cup of hummus in one pita, which resulted in a messy and unpleasant experience.

Great lunch spot near campus! The menu has a ton of options, from plates to sandwiches to salads, so you can pick depending on how healthy you want to be. I ordered the lamb pita sandwich, which was packed with juicy lamb. I especially liked the hummus and how silky it was. It went great with all the fillings inside the pita.

A great place for a quick lunch! We were looking for something light and refreshing, and this place hit the spot. my friend got the salmon salad, and I got a plate with salad, beets, baba ganoush, and hummus. The pita bread with the baba ganoush was to die for - I've now incorporated pita bread regularly into my weekly meal plans! will definitely be coming back!

(Pick-up order via Snackpass -- 40% all platters during happy hour!!)Rainy day got me in the mood for some warm, carb-y Mediterranean food, and y'all KNOW the happy hour deal at Hummus Grill is hard to resist. Tried the Vegan Shawarma Platter ($5.99) for the first time; I added sides of hummus, french fries, cucumber+tomato, fried eggplants (!!!! yes), and hot sauce.Everything is pretty standard, pretty yum -- plus the hot sauce is actually hot! Otherwise, decent grub for the price, and you really can't beat that Snackpass discount.

I've never eaten in the restaurant, but I've had takeout multiple times. This is hands down the best Middle Eastern food I've had in the US! It's absolutely delicious! Skip the big name place with the higher prices down the street and come here! You're welcome!
