Before you go, be sure to get your license plate as you will need to validate once you get to the restaurant for parking. The outdoor patio is perfect for a rainy evening. The menus had so many great options. I went with the fish sandwich and chips. The chips were very good and with a garlic aioli would be even better. I plan to get the deep dish pizza next time, someone beside us had it and it looked so good.

I struggle between a 2 and a 3 star review. So pros - cool ambience, we were seated quickly even without a reservation. Food was decent. My husband enjoyed his Tazzo Hash. My biscuits and gravy was "off". Too much season, the biscuit was overdone and crunchy so felt partly like a cracker. But my husband finished my dish and he enjoyed it okay. The server was nice but not great service . Missed part of our order by forgetting to put it in, never checked back on coffee so my coffee cup sat empty. The food took a long time to get and my coffee was fine before the food got there and never checked back in in the food or to fill coffee back up. It was a disappointment for me.

Took my mother and aunt to Sunday brunch here. I made a reservation but it appeared anyone walking up could still get a table. There's a large parking lot around the establishment so there was no problem finding a spot.We all got mimosas and my mom and I got the Monte Cristo sandwich, which we both loved. My aunt got the chicken and waffles. There wasn't enough syrup on it for her liking so she requested more and was told there is a surcharge for that. We were seated off in a corner room of the restaurant that had a couple of more small tables. Once all the tables were filled up it got a bit loud and hard to hear the conversation at our table. The restroom was nearby so I didn't get to see the other parts of the restaurant because I wasn't going to go walking around. Our service was okay - our water glasses ran dry for a bit and my Aunt had to get up to find our waitress in order to request extra syrup.I'd definitely recommend Hummingbird, and am excited to return and try some of the other brunch dishes.

This is one of Raleigh's hidden gems. The service and staff are top notch, but their food is incredible. I have never eaten brunch here, because dinner always blows it out of the water. Everything is fresh, seasonal and cooked to perfection. This is hands-down, one of the best restaurants in Raleigh. The chef knows what she's doing and she's phenomenal at her craft. We had the mussels tonight and the Duck cassoulet, which were amazing. I am still dreaming about the smokey beans! But the pickled beets stole the show, they were fire! I hate/love to spread the word, but I heart this place.

I have a friend who is retired and we get together once a month when she is in town so she can regale me with tales of her journeys. She travels half the year. This was her pick and it was a total treat. Now, I lived in New Orleans for four years. The best eating is in New Orleans. What folks in New Orleans consider a standard meal taste like high cuisine. The food here is good. I had steak and eggs and my steak was tender and moist. My grits were super creamy. They even have Crystal hot sauce. But I would consider the food inspired by New Orleans rather than traditional fare. Don't let that stop you from going. The brunch was amazing. The food was good. The music was jumping. They had some amazing artwork on the walls. I forgot to ask if it was local, oh well. The staff were friendly. The serve is a bit slow during the brunch rush, but that meant I got to chat with my friend and dream of my retirement in 15 years, lol. The drinks were the perfect strength to help with that reality. They made a great Paloma and my friend raved about her Irish coffee.

I went here with a group of friends on a Sunday for brunch. All the food was great and we enjoyed the ambiance sitting outside. I got an iced vanilla latte which was so good and I also enjoyed the Salmon toast, the bread was outstanding! Service was a little slow but I would definitely come again.

Do not eat here! Food took over an hour to get and was GREASY AND COLD! The crab on the Benedict's was super fishy. We couldn't eat more than 2 bites without fear of getting ill!!!
