"I love prime bazaar! It's convenient, clean, and they're always fully stocked with the essentials. They even offer curbside pick up. When ordering curb side I've placed my order maybe an hour or two before and it was ready quick! Just what I needed. Also, once they were out of stock of what I needed but the staff mentioned they'll get it the next day - and sure enough they did! Super friendly."
"Jerusalem Halal Meats is one of the oldest halal markets in Houston and where so many of my childhood memories begin. If you follow a halal diet and are adventurous in your kitchen at home, then this place is a staple in your repertoire of ingredient sources. For those not in the know, when compared to other stores like HEB or Krogers, Jerusalem is an unorganized mess. The aisles are narrow and the shelves are filled high to the sky. Yes, there are signs letting you know what's generally in the aisles; however, they're more like suggestions. There's a small produce section next to the olive and oil aisle. Yes, a full aisle dedicated to deliciousness. And trust me when I say to peruse the produce section. It's small but has random fruits and veggies like sweet lemon. Yes, that's a thing. No, they don't taste like oranges. The chaotic good continues with aisles that are only open on one end- like their beauty products. An assortment of soaps and lotions towards the front. Head to the back and you think there are going to be more products, but surprise! It's a small prayer hall set up with prayer mats facing Mecca. Then there's a restaurant in the back right corner. Get the chicken shawarma with everything on it, thank me later. The crown jewel of this establishment is the deli in the back. Their meat is delivered three days a week, so you're getting the freshest product sans going to a farm. It's clean and the workers typically fill your order quickly. Bring a sweater, because it's frigid in there. Just outside the deli are a couple of freezers with prepackaged meats that people typically order- think different ground meats, chicken breasts, and the like. They also have products like pepperoni, salami, and bacon. I haven't seen some of these products in the other halal markets in town **major disclaimer** none of the workers on the floor or in the deli are super fluent in English. The guys in the back who butcher the meat understand enough to fill your order, just don't expect a lot of small talk. They even know what cuts you need for certain South Asian dishes like Nihari. Head to the front counter if you can't find something. This is a family owned and operated establishment and they're all great about telling you where everything is and when it'll be in if they're out. If you have some spare time and want to try some new ingredients or aren't sure where to get a certain middle eastern ingredient, try Jerusalem. You never know what will inspire you there."
"Every time I drive from Austin to Houston I bring a small ice chest and stop here for steaks, sausage, and jerky. The place is a slaughterhouse so you know it's fresh and the prices are cheap. From Austin on 290 look for a building on your left on a hill just past Burton which is about 10-15 minutes before you get to Brenham."
"I came with mixed expectations and came away a fan. I tried to grab something on my way to Houston at 7:30am, but I found out that ribs wouldn't be ready until 10:30. So I tried again on my way back to Austin and hit them at 3:00. Neither good times but I wanted some of the famous BBQ.The staff were one and all fantastic. Very personable, nice and fully engaged. They have had an award winning restaurant for years and their people is one of the main reasons.I was on the road with limited time so I grabbed a sausage link and a piece of BBQ pork. I think it was a loin. They didn't have much left so I just worked with the meat cutter and went with what he recommended. The sausage was just about the best hand made sausage. Loose beef, very flavorful like a beef sausage should and a nice crisp skin. The pork had been around a while but was just as smooth, buttery texture and a tremendously good crust on it. I so wish I had it when it was out of the pit. I have no clue when that would be, I would expect it to be early but I certainly missed the time.Definitely give this classic spot a stop and try to get there at a more reasonable time.BTW - I sampled the sauce (the meat didn't need it) and it hit my taste bud meter. Everyone likes it different, but this was a top 5 in my book."
"Excellent homemade style gumbo, jambalaya and boudin balls! I will be going back for sure!"
"5/5 La Familia Meat Market is a true neighborhood gem. They have been serving 7 days a week 365 days a year for 20+ years!!The store instantly reminds one of any of the countless neighborhood anchors in any community in any city in Mexico. The counter is by the entrance. Fresh fruit and vegetables are in one cooler. "American" sodas are in the fridge closest to the butcher counter. The tacos are prepared in a kitchen at the opposite corner by very dedicated (one woman told me she had worked there for over 16 years) employees who whip up some of the best 100% authentic Mexican food around Greater Houston! The tacos are first rate. The offerings vary daily. There's something for everybody; unless (!) one is vegan. ***If one is vegan this family run MEAT MARKET probably isn't for you. LOL***"
"I stopped on the way to San Antonio to get my nails done and After speaking to the manager of the shop he told me that I should stop in to the meat market because it was world famous. Being that I like sausage I decided to stop. When you walk in it it's very rustic and old. I ordered the beef and pork sausage mix."
"I saw this supermarket on my way to 99 Ranch and abruptly made the decision to check them out instead. the store just recently opened last month, so the interior was bright and clean. The produce was well organized, and there were several employees restocking the shelves as we shopped. For this week, I wanted to get ingredients to make California rolls, Banh Mi, Beef Pho, Spring Rolls, and Hot Pot, and was able to find all of the ingredients I needed here except for the French baguette for the banh mi. However, since it's right across the street from an HEB, it wasn't a major inconvenience. We also picked up some pantry items like snacks, tea, and instant ramen, and they had a really good selection of items to choose from.Overall, I'm happy to have anotrrrhueuoyroyoutoutoor Asian grocery store in the Katy area to choose from, and the prices are comparable to 99 Ranch and Hmart. Since they recently opened, the store is not super crowded right now either so it's a great spot to do some weekend shopping for the time being!"
"Wait a minute...wait wait wait! I was in the area and I wanted to make turkey wings for my Sunday dinner and decided to stop at Bud's House of Meat. I switched to my tunnel vision eyeglasses because they offer more than raw meat, they offer BBQ dinners, sandwiches and baked potatoes. They remodeled the parking lot which was desperately needed, I was able to find Ebony (my ride) a nice parking spot without being to close to others where she could possibly be nick n ninged by others accidentally by other car doors. I really appreciated the fact that Bud's took that into consideration especially by their establishment being in the hood and baebaaa a Set it Off moment could happen quickly. Dang, I had to potty first and low and behold I was directed to the BBQ take out direction. Ok I go past holding my nose and determined not to look anywhere but for the restroom doors. Took care of my business and B lined it to grab a number for service. As I was B lining it, a little old lady stopped me and asked if I would hold her place in line because the takeout dinner line was long but not going quit as fast for her because she had to go to the restroom. I lied and told the lady I had an impatient husband and he was waiting on me, see if I obliged her I would have ordered me a 3 meat dinner, 3 sides and desert to go and cool aid. NOPE get behind me calories stop trying to trick me cause ya girl not falling for it! Not even for a sweet frail looking ole lady. I pull my number and 2 seconds later with all the people waiting my number was called. Ok ok, I got this so I proceeded to ask for the turkey wings, lawd have mercy "dem" turkey wing was huuuge. The guy started taking me too fast holding up several for my choice, asking me how I was going to cook them, asking me if I wanted them cut, how I wanted them cut, he cut up one asking me what size, how many I wanted, how many pounds? Defensively all I could say was "Ummmm, huu ummm welll, umm, wat I don't know, why u cut that now I have to buy it" He said no baby girl, I was just giving you an idea. So he digs at the bottom, moves some around and said how you like this one, I woman up and said yeah give me 2 like that and cut them up and there he goes again asking what size. Choices, options and decisions...I like it I like it in my Micky voice. And there it all began, I was in luv. I got summer sausage, pork chops, ground meat, turkey wings, hot boudin, spicy pork pan sausage, beef pan sausage and ham hocks. By the time I snapped outta my trance, I realized I didn't have a basket. The guy said, I'll take it up to the register for you. At the register, there I go adding some old fashion cookies to my purchases, I look up and ALL that for under $25. I'm standing there looking at my total, the cashier waiting looking at me, the meat man still smiling at me...I'm looking dumb founded because I was too afraid to ask did she charge me for everything before I hurry up and pay, dash out before she realizes she didn't ring up everything. I was honest I said, is that everything she smile and said yes.,.shoots so I add 2 more cookies packs to my bags. I pay went to grab my bag so I can skip happily with my meat to my truck. Mr. Meat guy says no ma'am, I'll take it for you. Waaaaaa, great prices, over the top customer service AND they take you bags to your car!! Hahahaheeehee! Now that's what I call GETTING A BANG for my buck!"
"A great stop when I head from College Station to my ranch near Weimar, Texas. I cannot pass through Hempstead without stopping here for breakfast tacos and menudo. With Tejano music blaring through the grocery store and the sent of fresh baked good floating in the air, all to serve as a great backdrop to fantastic breakfast tacos. The food is located to the rear and right in this Latino market. The variety of entrees are visible in the cafeteria style set up.The barbacoa is moist and tender. Chicharrons and carnitas absolutely amazing. All great fillings for a variety of available tacos served on corn or flour tortillas. The menudo is well flavoured and very filling. The tripas has absorbed much of the chili and very good.Check out the butcher section, looks amazing.Highly recommended."
"Cute shop with limited selection the day I was there (just visiting the area) but the meat we got was fantastic. The lady working the counter was a bit grumpy though. Downtown Columbus is really cute and worth a walk around by itself."
"Chappell Hill Sausage Company welcomes you with great smelling smoked meats as you pull in. There are a few tables to eat there and there was a constant flow of people. I ordered a jalapeño sausage on a stick (a must from a place that has sausage in its title) as well as a junior bacon cheeseburger. It was all so good! And it was no junior burger, this is a massive burger. You have to get it with bacon because the bacon was thick and crispy. I'm a fan! Thanks Chappell Hill Sausage Company for a great lunch."

So so clean. This is a Desi store full of spices and it doesn't smell like it. It smells clean. Great meat selection with hard to find cuts. Customer service is amazing! So glad they're in my area!

With a recommendation, we walked in, and for a second, we were so happy to see a big store fully loaded with all kinds of groceries. Still, as soon we walked towards the aisle, we saw employees, customers, and half of the people were not wearing a mask, and there were few of them kind of holding a show on their necks and mouths, they decided not to cover the nose. I can't believe it when we all know Texas has a maximum number of coronavirus victims. These people chose to kill themselves and others and pretending nothing is going on.We left right away, disappointed, and shocked. Please be careful if you have to go there or just avoided for a few months.

The road from Austin to Houston is long and fairly boring, but there's a little town called Burton which has some of the best sausage I've ever tasted.Right off the highway (small place, but there's signage), this place is great for a cheap, delicious snack. We got the spicy sausage for ONE DOLLAR apiece! I'm a city boy, myself, and we'd pay a solid $4.95 for that kinda thing here in Seattle. Texas is weird. If you're driving between Austin and Houston and you need some grub, look no further than this fine little place with absolute sweethearts behind the counter serving up some fine Texan meat in many forms.

This place is a gem if you live in the Katy area. There used to be another supermarket here after 99 Ranch closed down. I don't live in the area and my wife usually gets posts on FB from shoppers posting sales such as crab/lobster at a phenomenal price. My wife loaded up on pork bones here. she was like what? $0.48 for bones? literally, it's unheard of. She came back for seconds and thirds lol.The market is nice and clean and even though it takes us about 30 mins to get here, We try to stop by with a cooler so shop when we're in the area. Don't let another good supermarket in the local area close shop again and support them.
Visit Restaurant Page"WOW! First let me start with HOLY COW! lol. Amazing package deals on all meats. The beef jerky is so moist large pieces and is made perfectly. We got bone in rib eye that one of my rubs is going to be the best. Iam so anxious to try these staeks. To top it off hogs head cheese no were talking!"
"Awesome butcher shop. I'm so happy I found this place. Bone marrow is so hard to find, but they have it here! And great quality. I love that they can cut it anyway you desire and the pieces had quite a bit of marrow on them. I'll definitely be back to try more!"
"Wait...this is a grocery store with a kitchen area inside! Really wait, this is a meat market as well! I actually watched them cut up the meat that they are packaging in the store. They say that their chicken is grass fed and raised with no extra stuff in it, so I am looking forward to trying a chicken product from them. The place is surprisingly big inside and offer a huge variety of imported items. There are samples available throughout the store & a wide variety of items to serve, presumably, the Middle Eastern tummy! Plenty of imported goods are through the store which included drinks with Arabic writing on them. They sell mixed olives by the pound, which I saw several people excited about that. They also sell baklava and other types of candies that are common in the Middle East. I saw different types of imported lentils, rice and other goods that must be a true taste of home for those from that region.I am sure no one wants to here about that stuff though. I was really in the mood for a gyro, so I ordered a reasonably priced gyro with fries. Before I left with my to-go order, I was given a sample of hummus. This is the second best hummus that I have tasted. Read past reviews to see who I think is the first! Fries were fried well and seasoned well. They only gave me a slight handful, but I will not trip on that. The gyro itself had pretty presentation...was put together well...looked tasty...however you choose to say that it looked as though it should taste good! It was a good size, so I knew I would be content after eating it. The produce on the gyro was fresh and you could tell that my gyro was freshly made. I am not certain if the meat itself was seasoned to awesomeness, but I know the sauce they gave me to put on the gyro was yum mixed with I wished I had more of it! I enjoyed every bite of my gyro, and made sure to wipe the inside of the sauce container with my last bite of gyro. From the previous reviews, I need to try a chicken shawarwma (Not sure if that is spelled correctly) as well. I am looking forward to giving this business another try at impressing me. They are off to a good start."
"They offer groceries, full service butcher and a small attached restaurant where you can dine-in and/or take out. I mostly go there for their butcher shop. So, my review is only for their full service halal butcher shop. They have mutton, lamb, beef, chicken etc. They have good quality meat at a decent rate. They have packed meats at the racks. I usually enter the butcher shop and request them according to my liking. For mutton, I ask them either a shoulder or a leg piece and request them to cut into small cubes. They are not very good at English but they have so far fulfilled my request. They are good at their job. They also have packed whole chicken cut into cubes. I don't really shop here for their groceries nor have tried their restaurant yet. However, for their meat and butcher service I'd give them a 5/5."
"Modest neighborhood meat market with a big surprise on the inside. What might that surprise be? There is a legit soul food restaurant just chilling by the entrance. Oxtail, fried chicken, boudin. Just name it, they got it. As far as sides go, I recommend the mac and cheese and sweet potatoes. Prices are super cheap too, so you can load up without breaking the bank. Everything I tried tasted great, including the smothered pork chops. If you're on a diet, please stay away! Or come on one of your cheat days!"
"On way home from Houston, did a quick search to find good bbq. Have tried City Market in Luling and was amazing. So figured would be Greta's well. Ordered sliced brisket sandwich. Meat was tender, very easy to bite into. Lacked a good smoke flavor. Also needed more flavor overall. Would have benefited from more dry rub prior to smoking, ad that spice. BBQ sauce was ok, nothing special."
"I have family out in Houston. So when we visit, I often stop the meat market to get alllll of the offerings. I love their boudain variations, the chicken and seafood are my personal favorites. I also got some stuffed cornish hens and can never pass up their links and oxtails! They even sold this black owned seasoning called Moe's Magic Dust - Creole Seasoning. It's pretty much my universal seasoning for everything these days!"
"A very friendly family owned business. Although the owner speaks limited English, the shop employs enough of his family who do speak English. Meat prices are competitive to that of other meat markets. My wife and I recently purchased 218 ounce ribeye steaks That I grilled here at home . They were delicious; we will definitely be back spring later this spring."
"This is our place to go for some good BBQ when we are in Hempstead. Besides BBQ, they processed meats hunted by you as well as mount the animals for display."
"First off, this place is clean and that is most important in a place where you get your food processed. They charge 80 cents per lb. which is a good price. The folks who run the place are very friendly and provide great customer service. This is our second time doing business with them and will be returning after we finish the 350 lbs of beef I just picked up."
"Great market to find regional foods and products. Fresh produce section is pretty good. They also have a deli area with homemade dishes for take out."
"The high quality meat selection (Wagyu, Dry Age etc) was very impressive and I really enjoyed their jalapeño sausage, New York strip steaks and whole chicken which I put on the grill. The service was also exceptional. I definitely plan to return the next time I am in the area."
"I keep on going back to get the paratha, which is oh-so-delicious. My next favorite is the chicken malai boti which is tender, juicy and flavorful. I always get it extra spicy. I had also tried the palak paneer which I think is better than a lot of places but I am not a big fan of too much cumin. The biryani's are tasty and a must-try, and I think maybe actually taste better the next day. I also tried the chicken samosa and the samaosa which were good but not my favorite favorite, but still good. Also had the seekh chicken kabob which has a lot of spices, which I also liked, but I think it can be a bit strong for some. The chicken tikka leg was ok to me. I think you get your money's worth on everything here though. Really glad this cafe is available for good Indo-Pak cuisine. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the card reader which starts off with Leave a Tip and you have to press the button to put yes or no."
"I'm aca with it if you want to go here by yourself, but I wish you'd take me with you. We're talking about the mother of all Turkish grocery stores... and the father too. They have all the Turkish stuff, it's small but it's packed and loaded, prices are mid to high but damn it's amazing if you're over here from Turkey and miss your home goodies.Combined with the Istanbul Truck on Westheimer near Hillcroft, this is all the Turkishness you'll ever need."
"I always will Drive Pass Masala pantry most of the time . I finally decided to try them out and I was pleased! Available parking options . Well organized store . Nice price. You do not have to drive far off into town to get some Indian food no more . Customer service is great . I love the samosas! I believe it's buy one get one free!"
"I like this place so much, I'm willing to drive from Bryan just to grab a bite! From the burgers and fries to those delicious pies, this place is absolutely hands down my favorite spot in Brenham. Bring one to Bryan please????"
"I've been coming to this place for years. The sausage they make here is the best I've ever had. They have hot lunches they serve here too. They have bacon, wieners, steaks, dried sausage, smoked sausage, jerkies, canned goods like sauerkraut ( cold crock and canned) jams, jellies, cane syrups, honey, too much to list. They also sell things like quilts, handbags and other gifts. This is a perfect place to shop for gifts and Christmas gifts. They ship!If you've never been here, this is a "must stop" on your road trip!"
"THR STUFF CHICKEN IS AMAZING!!!! I always come in November to grab a few for Friendsgiving. They always have what i need! You can never go wrong with grabbing and of their selections of meats!"
"Thank you the boudin was a hit at the bbq...beef, chicken and especially the spicy pork, just enuff heat. Service was great and prices just as well."
"Nice market with plenty to choose from. They also have BBQ takeout on-site. We bought some country ribs and brought them home to slow cook. They were excellent! Worth a stop, bring a cooler."
"This place had been around a long time. Characteristic of the small town BBQ place. Meat and sausages are packed locally. Chickens are from farms around Gonzales. This is the Texas that slow moving pickup truck would pull over and let you by. Everybody knows everybody else. If you get there by noon on a Saturday, like you'll have to settle with what they have left.We had a take out dinner. Smoke taste was heavy, ribs tender, chicken was not dry, briskets were easy to eat even without a knife. To wash all that down was a Shiner boch brewed 15 miles to the west."
"We came into a turducken just after Thanksgiving 2022. My husband Matt B. did a colleague a work favor during the holiday week, and the colleague said that he'd send a turducken if Matt got it done by the Wednesday. Matt thought he was joking until the turducken arrived on our doorstep.I knew a turducken was a sort of Russian nesting doll of poultry, but had never seen one before and wasn't sure what we were meant to do with it, other than stick the huge box in our garage freezer and worry about it later. Thankfully, it came with cooking instructions. Also thankfully, we were scheduled to host Christmas Eve for a crowd of twenty people. The turducken came from Hebert's Specialty Meats, apparently the visionaries behind this multibird monstrosity (the origins are contested, but the Hebert brothers have a solid claim). It looked sort of like a turkey, but without the bones, something a little horror movie-like about that. The turkey was stuffed with a boneless duck, which was stuffed in turn with a boneless chicken. There were layers of cornbread dressing and pork sausage stuffing separating the three birds, and everything was seasoned and vacuum sealed before getting frozen and shipped off to our doorstep. It took days to defrost this thing, and it was still a little frozen when we stuck it in the oven, borrowing a friend's roasting pan. I was worried it wouldn't cook up right, but it roasted beautifully, making the house fragrant for hours. The turducken required very little work and no particular kitchen skills. It came out great, making an impressive, unique centerpiece for our Christmas Eve dinner. Easy to carve, too, with no bones in the way. All three birds were tender and tasty, and I loved the cornbread and pork stuffing. We ate I think about two thirds of the turducken, and the rest went into freezer bags that I eventually plan to eat. I was pretty happy with this fortuitous holiday feast. If you want to buy or gift an unusual dinner for a large group of people, Hebert's Specialty Meats will sling you a fat turducken any time you please."
"I ordered a whole lamb from Leaning Cedar Ranch in Brenham. They use K & C for their processing. I spec'ed out my desired cuts and included vacuum packing (AC paper wrap) and waited for the call.Pickup was easy, everything was well packed and labeled, and everything cut to spec, trimmed well, etc. Will absolutely use again."
