"I came here for lunch and it is a lovely place for a quiet meal during the week! Our server was very attentive and polite. The lunch specials are reasonably priced. I got the enchilada special which comes with one enchilada (I got the traditional chocolate mole sauce with chicken)and refried beans and rice. The mole sauce had a great flavor and the rice and beans were delicious. I liked how the portions were just right and didn't leave me feeling stuffed! We also asked for chips and salsa. The chips were well seasoned and the salsa was nice and fresh. Definitely an authentic Mexican meal. I highly recommend trying this place!"

"Totally worth the 25min drive for me just to get their quesadillas, they have flor de calabaza, huitlacoche- can't find those just anywhere. I've taken some friends here a couple of times and EVERYONE loves their food. My favorite is their cecina, it's flavorful & tender. Their quesadilla tortillas are handmade of fresh masa & deep fried, they're pretty big- hard to find too, they're topped off with lettuce, queso fresco on top of their meat and melted cheese. Their tortas are huge and good too."

And the food is actually good! (Red salsa served warm, and that's a no-no in my book. But most people like it, so you're probably in luck.)The beer and other drinks were also flowing at much-discounted prices. Bottom line: When you can grab some legitimate eats and drinks for the same price as the drive-thru mega burger chain down the street, it's a no-brainer."

This is a family owned and operated place so don't be surprised when you see young teenagers busing tables. Menu is in Spanish with English text under everything. Servers don't speak the best English but good enough to get your orde right. Food does take some time to come out only because everything is homemade and from scratch. Plates come out super hot and full of flavor. I recommend this place to all my friends."

This was my first visit. I was brought here by some friends. this is more Texican than Mexican. I have lived in Mexico and have traveled extensively throughout Mexico for many years. I suppose that affected my expectations. I smiled at the item called "crispy tacos" which were served in American style taco shells. Their American clients will expect those for sure due to Taco Bell's influence. To their credit, the tortillas were freshly made and were wonderful. The aguas frescas were also great. I recommend the pineapple flavored. The service was friendly and efficient. However I was disappointed with my order of carne guisada which was more of stewed meat in a gravy rather than the traditional Mexican style sauce which has tomatoes, onions, garlic, some kind of chili pepper and often chunks of carrot or potato. My friends immediately saw that it was not like Mexican carne guisada and offered me to order something else. I did not want to make a fuss, so I just mixed some salsa in with the gravy which helped it. My friends ordered the #1, the Jalisco plate, with which I probably would have been more pleased. The menu is quite extensive and I'm sure there are other entrées I would have enjoyed more. Next time I will probably try the chile relleno. I think it's kind of a hit or miss unless you know what to order. The décor was great. I loved the mural of the maguey field, a common site in the State of Jalisco. I would be glad to try them again. I just won't order the meat with gravy they call "carne guisada.""

You'll have to have a good eye while passing by, be referred by someone, or specifically search for Honduran food on yelp to find this place. Don't be shy to give this place a try. It's actually a small and very neat restaurant. I tried seafood soup. It came with rice and two small tortillas. It was pretty awesome. Made with coconut milk, its like curry but not like Indian or Thai curry. It had a chunk of crab, some shrimp, banana, and other vegetables in it. (Insert smile face emoticon with hearts for eyes here.) This place is legit. I will be back to try some more things. Order at the counter and pay when you're done. Prices are very reasonable."

The chicha morada is served with pears in it and is kind of sweet but not too much. The chips are served with a green sauce & a spicy sauce & are super tasty! For entree I had basically a beef stew served with rice and red onions. The beef was super tender and overall I was impressed. My friends dish had fried plantains which were really good. Overall a good experience. Really wanted to try the desserts but was so full from the other food. They have good dessert options for sure. Will definitely come back here."

The soft tortillas, the fluffy eggs, the tender meats, the melted cheese... makes me want to drool as I write this. Don't be hesitant to try it just because it's right next to a gas station. You'll regret not giving this place a try!They charge their breakfast tacos based on how many items you get in it. If you ask me, go for as many as you like because the price difference is only a few cents. I've had sausage, egg, cheese, chorizo, potato, beans, bacon, and all the mix & matches you can come up with. I've also had their beef fajita tacos, barbacoa tacos, pastor tacos, and guisada tacos with my sister. All were great! All the meats were tender and flavorful. The only thing I disliked were the beans. Got a bean & cheese taco once and didn't like it as much as other places. But all the other ones were soooo good.I never really go in that direction so I don't get Jalapeno Joe's as often as I'd like to. But if you get the chance, give them a try!"

When the food came out, I was mildly prepared on what to expect.The tacos:The tortilla was at or near perfection. It had the perfect balance of texture, flavor, and temperature. I could have eaten there by themselves and been happy. The contents of the tacos were all very flavorful and temperature hot - the taco contents were well equipped, quantity wise. Very happy with the tacos.The pupusa:*Moment of silence* followed by *fireworks*Geez this thing was good. Between the flavor and the arm workout of stretching the cheese clear over my head when I broke it apart - this thing was amazing. Cheesiness everywhere. I loved everything about this place and can't wait to come back and explore the menu in deeper fashion. If you're in the parking lot about to go into another restaurant or even worse - on a waiting list at another restaurant - upgrade your experience and come to La Patrona Cocina Latina instead!!"
