"I usually order from Olivit via DoorDash but I went in person this time and was greeted by a super nice guy at the front desk. He was very friendly, answered all my questions about their menu, and even gave me an enthusiastic recommendation. I really appreciate the customer service here.I usually get the wraps from here so I followed tradition and got a gyro and also the kobbeh balls, both of which were great. I've never had kobbeh before but the crunchiness of the outside and the soft, ground beef inside made me fall in love. This place is a must-try if you want some top-tier Mediterranean food."
"I was very excited to try Fresh Kitchen Comfort Food this past week. My experience exceeded my expectations! This is a wonderful, family owned restaurant that serves up fresh, delicious ingredients. They cut up fresh veggies daily, make their sauces in house, and prepare portions of protein throughout the day to maintain freshness. Please go and visit this wonderful business. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. 10/10 My order: Poke Bowl: white rice, ponzu sauce, spicy salmon, Machaca , Edamame, mushrooms, green onions, avocado. Finished with chipotle mayo and topped with Panko and sesame seeds.Jarrito Drink: orange, grapefruit, and lime juices mixed with grapefruit soda and served in an awesome Mexican Clay Mug. The variety of fresh ingredients is outstanding and this was the best Poke Bowl I have ever had. The chipotle Mayo is a must and paired really well with everything. The Machaca is a must try and I am so glad I added it to pair with the salmon. The drink was as delicious as the presentation looks and I love that it is served in a clay mug. I definitely recommend giving it a try. Can't wait to try their other items."

The pizza tasted great and the dough had not too much chew, which was good for us. The sole employee was also the owner. We had a really nice chat with the very friendly owner. Our only complaint was no diet Coke for sale. I hope this shack can survive because there was no foot traffic nor call in orders for pick up while we were there."
"Tried this newly opened place in front of Sienna and it did not disappoint. Ordered the Beef Kafta platter to go which included Greek salad, rice, hummus, and pita. The beef was flavorful and juicy and the salad was fresh with a tasty dressing. Prices are on the higher side but the portions are generous. They also offer lunch specials but be sure to get there before 230p. I ordered a few minutes after and the cashier said it was too late so I had to pay dinner prices. I'll be back to try other items to support this small biz but wish they would be a little more flexible in the future for 2 minutes."
"I mean is good breakfast, good coffee, doesn't disappoint but it does not amaze me either, just another American dining spot, it's a good option, I was surprised of the good cocktail selection i had a couple and they were good.Harrys good spot 3 stars and that's all.++++++(GET THE COLADA MORADA tho, made my day)++++++"
"I love this place. Their food is always good and so is the service. Definitely good bang for your buck. Best hummus also."
"So happy I ran across Echoes. A happy hour that goes until 7 with delicious craft cocktails and nice appetizers that have big portions and great quality. We got 4 drinks and the fries, dip trio, ands spanakopitas. I usually don't like smoky food but the red pepper walnut dip is my favorite. Fries were hot with a great garlic sauce. The spanakopita wasn't the best I've had but you get a lot for $9. For drinks we got the mother of pearl (real earthy, nice but wouldn't get again), the sensacional (my friend said was refreshing and strong), the La Carchaca (even better tequila drink my friend said) and the Take a walk on the wild cider (I love cinnamon. One of the better warm cocktails I've had). I look forward to coming back for the brunch and live entertainment late nights. Newly opened and I hope they are successful with a great second floor space with a patio and quaint inside. The servers were super cool and attentive too!"
"Food was excellent! Service was great. Inside is not anything nice but if you want quality food and service it's perfect."
"Service is fantastic super friendly I saw tons of their regulars And they know each other very wellSeems like a family business not sure about it The latte is good and very pretty The croissant was not good Has a super weird taste like lamb cheese I don't like it at all. The vibe is great and lovely."
"So ..... I forgot to put the bakers in the oven... so Gyros it is! Manny's in Copperfield has been closed for a while so we decided to try Simple Greek gyros in Cypress off Telge Rd. Which is UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!Terry, the new owner, greeted me with a smile as I walked in. Looking around at his quaint little shop, it was hard not to smile. It was beautiful and clean. At the front there was a chalk board you could sign/doodle on. On the left side there was a small 5 table seating area, with what looked to be huge seaside silk like painting. The restrooms were in the back. On the right wall there was another huge silk like painting of a Greek column. The kitchen area was small and clean. For dinner we chose the traditional Zeus gyros, a blend of lamb/beef, lightly seasoned, lettuce, tomato, red onion and homemade tzatziki sauce, although there are a few others to choose from. We also got a Zeus gyro platter, that included a salad and side. The Greek salad we chose had romaine lettuce, fresh feta, Kalamata olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions topped with a little dolmade. The vinaigrette dressing was lite and flavorful. We chose the fries topped with fresh feta cheese and oregano, Greek style, as our side. I couldn't pass up the hummus, as it was also fresh made and delicious! Next time, I'm going to have to remember to get some baklava for MrM! As we chatted while our Togo order was made, I discovered Terry not only knows Manny but is long time friends with him! Not hard to believe after eating dinner. Although Terry took over about two months, the menu online, and even the sign above the entrance, have NOT been updated. They NO LONGER SERVE BURGERS, PIZZA, HOTDOGS OR WINGS. Now, it's SIMPLY GREEK food. They do have a pita grilled cheese and chicken fingers, served with fries, on the kids menu."
"Came here today for lunch and some hookah and let me just say above anything, the service was AMAZING!!! Now the food was great as well. I had the gyro sandwich with fries and it was so yummy. The hummus had jalapeño in it and was so delicious. Gotta try the blueberry mint hookah as well!! We will definitely be back ;)"

I've been meaning to try this place for quite some time. It is tucked between a clinic and the 9 Round boxing fitness center, where Very Fresh Clamatos and Snacks used to be. There's even a bit of overlap in the menu and overall vibe, so if you liked that place you'll like this too.I got a 3-protein 'Ohana Poke bowl with Guajilla shrimp, regular shrimp and salmon, and all the veggies and toppings on a white rice base. They'll put it on brown rice, cauliflower rice, quinoa or salad for you too. It was an impressive pile of food. I accompanied it with elote (a cup of corn) and jarrito non-alcoholic cocktail (Fresh Kitchen is BYOB).The experience was all-around enjoyable. The owners were there that day and are wonderful folks, incredibly enthusiastic about their product. All of their sauces are homemade, and they are impressive. I had a combination of Ponzu sauce, Bam-Bam sauce (hard to describe, but think of a spicy mayo with great depth of flavor) and creamy sesame sauce, and it went very well with that load of toppings. It would have been good for three meals, but I ate it all because it was so good. The elote was also quite delicious, I had a combination of white and sweet corn. It's a fairly sharp flavor, lots of lime juice, and very satisfying.Their specialty drinks are a lot of fun and well worth ordering. I had the jarrito, orange, grapefruit & lime juice mixed with grapefruit soda in a Mexican clay mug with a chamoy and tajin rim. Their chamoy is also homemade. It was a wonderful complement to the meal, and you get to keep the clay cup! I would say that trying one of their specialty drinks is a must.On the menu, under Micheladas, you will see that one of the ingredients is "petroleum". This is not a misprint, and it is not made by one of our fine local energy companies. Though it does in fact look like motor oil! It is a family recipe for a sauce that tastes like a combination of Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. The owner brought a sample and I tried some in the elote, and it complements it well, but go light--just a few drops will give it great depth.Family businesses require some patience. The shop wasn't open when I arrived at noon on a Saturday, though the owners were there within a couple of minutes and ready in 10. The bathroom was clean and ready. The place is tiny, but there's a table inside and two more outside to eat there if you want. Overall it is absolutely charming and something you really should try.

A friendly family run establishment! We stopped in for a late afternoon gyro platter to split and had a great conversation with the formerly Canadian owners. The restaurant is clean and cutely appointed. The gyro platter was plentiful and the side Greek salad was very fresh. The giant cookies by the cash register are good, but the flaky and sweet baklava is a must try!

Yay, got to try Harry's!! So many years of driving by, always rushing to get somewhere. But now I totally get why there is always a line out the door here. First, the service was just delightful. Our waitress was a ray of sunshine, efficient, friendly, and knew when to check in and when not to. Hard to find, gotta say. The sunny side up eggs were perfect. Nothing beats a beautiful runny yolk. The bacon...OMG, perfectly crispy thick cut slabs of cured goodness. Another OMG dish was the grits (forgot the pic, sorry). Yes, the grits. Creamy without being too buttery or greasy, well seasoned...so good!

I came here for dinner with my husband and had a delightful meal. The interior of this restaurant is absolutely stunning and vibrant. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the AC happening to be out when we came, so they made sure we had a fan by our table to help keep us cool. They do have a long menu with lots of options, so we settled on some of their fresh juices, samosas, I got their gyro and tabbouleh, and my husband got the gyro torta. The juices were so incredibly fresh and delicious. Their samosas had a great flavorful filling and creamy dipping sauce. Our gyros were delicious. Can't wait to come back again!

Most people come here for the drinks, but the food is also really good. I've been for brunch and dinner. We've had the Echoes potatoes, the octopus, and the shrimp pasta. All were very tasty. And yes the drinks are good. This place is a vibe too. The rooftop is perfect. Will definitely return.
Visit Restaurant Page"So I came to try this place out and the burger was really DELICIOUS!! They have waffle fries that come with your burger on the side (I don't think they give you too many fries but I'm looking to portion control so it was okay with me) Everything tastes made to order, fresh and the bun is very soft. This is one of those burgers that you bite and juices are dripping down your hand, lol. I personally think that's a sign of a good burger. They have indoor and outdoor seating and on this day they had a dj on the patio which was cool bc it was a pretty day. The only complaint/s I have would be that we wanted 1 normal meal and 1 kids meal, because neither of us were under 12, they add $2 to the meal and take away the soda. So you basically should buy the adult combo which would then be the same amount of money but you'd still get kids meal. Really doesn't make sense to me. I should still get the soda if I'm paying $2 more or the cost shouldn't be as much as the adult meal. Ended up ordering mozzarella sticks which were $8 and they give you a lot but ours came out looking fresh but the cheese In some of them was still cold - kind of a bummer.Other than that service was quick and I'll prob be back for the burger because it was really good. Pricing is comparable to other burger joints but more fries would be great. They give u the burger meal on this wooden mini cheese board so not much fits on it. Pics attached"
"So happy to have a new place for to go dinners. I tried the frozen spanakopita and moussaka. The heating instructions were on the lid and easy to follow. In 20 min you will have a nice dinner for 2 with leftovers. Only thing I would have liked more eggplant in the moussaka but overall reheated great. The spanakopita was some of the best I have had! The spinach was so tasty! Excited to comeback and try other dishes!"
"Idk about hotdogs and fries as a breakfast special (as is currently advertised in the window) but this was the lightest, most delicately crisp spanakopita I've ever had. The lady who rang me up was also quite friendly."
"Favorite Greek food in this area. We always get the gyros and hummus. The owner is always there and very friendly."
"Cafe Lili is an excellent choice for anyone seeking delicious and authentic Lebanese cuisine in Houston. They are located in a strip center off Westheimer, right next to one of the last James Coney Islands in town, near the Galleria. They offer both sidewalk cafe table seating as well as an expansive indoor dining area. You walk in and order at the counter, then wait for your food to be made and served tableside. The staff has always been beyond welcoming and helpful. If you don't know what to order, or what exactly something is that's listed on the menu, they're happy to step in and help you figure things out. There's never been a lengthy wait time, and can't recall any other issues with service. The food covers many Lebanese staples as well as other Mediterranean go to's. Tabouli, Hummus, Greek salad, Turkish coffee, Falafel, kabobs, Lebneh, stuffed grape leaves, schwarma, meat pies, and so much more. Also, their lamb chops are fantastic when available. It's also important to note that they have a rotating special, so make sure to keep an eye out on what's being offered that day. All in all, Cafe Lili is high up on our list of options for Mediterranean fare, and our #1 for Lebanese in Houston."
"This place does Greek the way Greek should be done. Not only was the food perfect, but the ambiance and service was spot on. I enjoyed everything I tasted, but be warned the Athena's Veggie Chips (crispy zucchini & eggplant chips served with tzatsiki) are addictive. Try not to eat them all before your food comes, you WILL want room for your meal. My daughter and I shared them along with the 3 Dip Sampler (Tzatsiki, Hummus and Tirokafteri served with pita). The Tzatski tasted so good, it was hard to not eat it all (I love the stuff). This was a lot of food, and it was just the appetizer, so we had plenty to take home with us.I had the Gyro Plate (Slices of lamb & beef with Greek salad, served with pita bread) and she had the special of the day, unfortunately I forgot the name of her dish. Nevertheless, my daughter said the chicken was amazing and some of the best she had ever had.We both loved it so much, we went back for more the next day, because she claimed her sister needed to try it too. Excellent decision in my opinion :)And we will be back very soon, because there is much more to try."
"5/5. So delicious, fresh, flavorful, great service, open late. You really cannot go wrong. I loved the lamb shish kebab. Literally every element on the plate was delicious. Rice, lamb, tzatziki, salad. All fresh, flavorful, seasoned nicely, so good. My husband really enjoyed his gyro wrap and grilled chicken burger. It was all very tasty."
"We visited Cafe Petra Greek and Lebanese in Pearland on a Friday during lunch time. The restaurant sits in a strip center and there is plenty of parking out front. The staff is very friendly and attentive even when they get busy. The restaurant is very clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed:- fried cheese- French fries - falafel - chicken shawarma plate - gyro plate - tiramisuThe portion sizes are large and we had plenty of left overs. We were served by Mohammad. We hope to have the opportunity to come back soon. I hope you give them a try."
"So delightful! The environment was clean, and tidy. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was ready quick and tasted delicious. We ordered the hummus with pita, the falafel plate, and the combination chicken n gyro plate. Our drinks were fresh-we had the mango juice, unsweet tea and the Lebanese tea. We will definitely be back!"
"I was a visitor in the general area and needed to grab a quick lunch. Someone suggested Bakkhus Taverna so I decided to give it a try. Our table shared a hummus plate where we got veggies and pita bread. I also got the grilled chicken pita and subbed avocado for the cheese. It came with fries. Honestly everything was good. It was a lot of food. It came out nice and hot. And the service was so fast. Our waitress was a pro when it came to service. Next time, I might try a salad because of how stuffed I was haha."
"The prices are definitely reflected by the quality of the meat here and the service 9/10! Went in for just a gyro and the meat was so tender and flavorful it was amazing; plus the kind people working at the front got it to me in under 2 minutes, and it was steaming hot 5 minutes later still when i opened it! Great experience can't wait to try again"
"We were regulars at the heights location. Finally made it out to the west university location, and wow, I can't believe I have never been here. My husband and I are foodies. We eat at all the best restaurants in Houston: Nobie's, Nancy's Hustle, Squabble, State of Grace, and this place is right up there. So glad we came in today, now we have another place to add to our rotation of faves. My recommendations: Baked Feta, and for white wine, parparoussis."
"I can't believe I posted my first review of Euro Bakery 7 years ago! Since then, there are new owners and new bakery items. With the cost of ingredients rising, their prices rose as well. I ordered a chocolate decadence cake and it was $50, but seemed smaller than what it used to be. It was a two-layer cake, but I could've sworn it used to be 3 layers back in the day. The cake was a big hit this weekend though! I didn't have a chance to try their food this time around, but there are still a lot of items from the original owners that I saw on the menu."
"Simo's diner gives you a no nonsense Northeast 70's diner experience and happily advertise their food is meant for working folks. Pretty darn good for retirees too. Great prices and hearty plates of no frills comfort food. You won't find any wayward parsley here as food is for eating not for looking pretty (come to think of it, no one plates with parsley any more but you get my drift). A side of bacon gets you FIVE slices. A biscuit and gravy side offers an option of one or two biscuits but trust me when I say one is enough. And that sausage gravy is full of savory pellets of sausage and bursting with flavor. No fancy, clever names or complicated dishes, just quality essentials and a warm, welcoming atmosphere where the staff gets to know your name."
"If you're looking for a place that serves authentic gyros, this is the place to go. I've been to Ekko's Greek American Deli multiple times. My go to is the gyro plate which comes with a side of fries and salad. Most times I substitute the fries for extra salad. Portion sizes are great for the price!"
"We have visited Zeus Mediterranean Kitchen during lunch time on several occassions. The staff is very friendly and the food is prepared quickly which helps when you have to get back to the office. We dined on:- Chicken shawarma plate- Gyro & Chicken Shawarma plate - Reg Hummus + Mediterranean hummus- Chicken Shawarma wrap I definitely plan on returning and recommend you give them a try."
"Looking for something to eat after a late night arrival into Houston, I was led here by Yelp. I enjoyed the gyro sample I was offered, my conversation with the proprietor about the food scene in Palestine, and the falafel wrap I ultimately ordered. Good food and good people."
"My exes don't call me an ex boyfriend. They call me the "doner." More specifically the Sperm Doner. But that's beside the point. What to get: Doner Kebab, duhhhhWhat to do next: Become an organ DonerDo disco singers eat here?: Doner Summer doesWhat about Britney Spears?: Idk, but if you find out, Doner let me be the last to knowInside info: The Gyro and Doner are actually the same (shouldn't be, one is Greek, one is Turkish, this is honestly closer to neither lol), but dressed up differently (like Barbi when not at work). So you know the songs "Gyro" (as in, I can be your Gyro, baby), by Tzatziki Iglesias, as well as "(We Could Be) Gyros" by David Bowie, "My Hero" by the Food Fighters, "(And Then A) Gyro (Comes Along)" by Marinade Carry-out, and the song "Gyro" by those wizards of haunting, moving music - Nickelback - and the very controversial, outspoken "We Don't Need Another Gyro" (um, yes we do) by Pita Turner. Not to mention "Working Class Gyro" by John Lemon-potatoes and the even more poignant, meaningful protest song "Gyros In A Half-Pita" by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.Well, they actually weren't about this Gyro place. Sorry. We really wanted to love this place but we really didn't. The decor is amazing and the prices are okay (just okay), and the service is okay depending on which day you come here. But really the main thing that we do ratings on is the food, the taste, the enjoyment of the meal itself, and we have very high standards when it comes to Gyros, probably from my time in Milwaukee, Chicago (the birthplace of the US Gyro), NYC and Toronto (the best places to find Greek style Gyros), and places like Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and so on... and even if we didn't have high standards, this wouldn't have been our favourite. They have Doner and Gyros as the name of the business, which doesn't suggest that they really both the same thing, but when you taste them, they are. Neither one tastes so much like the delicious Chicago Greek inspired street food, although that's what they're a fuzzy facsimile of. Neither one tastes like real Greek Gyros either, obvi.Neither one really tastes like the Turkish Doner either. If anything they takes a lot like Halal Guys, and that's basically what you'll be getting here. Between the two I would prefer Halal Guys, not by too much, but I was hoping for something a little bit more refined. In a way, Halal Guys has ruined the fast food Gyro, and finding an actual Gyro has become difficult.I've doner lot of things in my life, and one of them is to eat here at Doner & Gyros, and I may do so again. Maybe. So if this was in Europe, it'd be Doner & Euros. Whereas if you were only allowed to visit it once in your life, it'd be Doner & YOLO.Now, I'll let Bonnie Tyler close out the review.I need a Gyro!I'm holding out for a Gyro in the Sugar Land night! It's gotta be hot and it's gotta be big and you've gotta give me the first bite...I need a Gyro!"
"Amazing food, cute and semi casual ambiance, super friendly service. It's semi-cafeteria style, you choose one meat and three sides (or four sides). The sides are all on display that you can pick, the meats they will prepare and bring it out to you. I loved everything I got (lamb gyro, beets, baba ganoush). Best lamb gyros ever it was sooo juicy and flavorful. Lamb meatball was also excellent with a little spice."
"Quiet little spot near Washington Ave. stopped in around 3 on a Saturday afternoon. Besides a baby shower that was going on the place was relatively dead. Ordered the hummus to start. It was a very generous portion with a lot of pita bread. Could have used more veggies, but can't complain. The hummus tasted fresh like it was made in house. Ordered the fish n chips as my meal. Some of the best I've had! The fish was perfectly fried (not to greasy) and the fish was light and didn't crumble when you cut into it. The sauce that comes with it has the perfect kick needed to make the meal just right. I will definitely be back for another round, next time the craving hits!"
"Family in town for Christmas weekend and it's one of those nights where we don't feel like cooking anything. My sister and her husband were in the mood for Indian food. While this isn't indian, I mentioned it was close by and had mediterranean eats that appealed to us (kabobs, hummus, etc.). After looking at the menu, they were sold. So we put in an order of the following before I headed out to pick up:-Spicy Chipotle Chicken Kabob w/ Spicy Hummus & Roasted Cauliflower-Ground Beef Kafta Kabob w/ Chargrilled Veggies & Baked Mashed Potato Ball-Fish Platter w/ Tzatziki Dip, Chargrilled Veggies & Orzo SaladFor the items ordered, everything and I mean EVERYTHING was delicious! Both kabobs were tender and flavorful; we also loved the chargrilled veggies as they had that char and smokiness which I enjoy. The orzo salad and roasted cauliflower were tasty. I enjoyed the fish and found it tender and succulent mixed in the tomato veggie broth. And the tzatziki dip, OMG, one of the best sauces you'll eat. We dipped our veggies and complimentary pita in it like no tomorrow. Tzatziki dip is one of the most underrated sauces/dips ever. Every restaurant should serve it; you could put it on a shoe and I'd still eat it! We also got some chocolate baklava and walnut baklava, both excellent desserts for a fitting meal.Side Note: As I arrived at the restaurant, I got a call that they had sold the last of the fish and it would take another 15 minutes to prep another one. I decided to wait while they cooked up another fish for me. I did get a bit agitated since I was on a time constraint due to my sister's kids so I'm trying to be patient. They call me back and tell me everything is ready but to wait outside. One of the employees comes out and brings me the food all packaged nicely and gave us some complimentary desserts for our troubles. As someone who worked in the restaurant industry, I can't tell you how much I appreciated the gesture and their attempts to make things right which they did. No doubt they've won me over and this won't be my last visit here!"
