Fox E. "If you want "To Go" and find some great Filipino food, look no further.Located inside one of the worst H-E-B locations you could ever visit, this is actually a pretty good Filipino food place, in fact it can be amazing, and one which I tend to stop by now and again, usually with my girlfriend. And while it's not some kind of gourmet Filipino restaurant, not that you'd want it to be as these little stands usually have the best food, it definitely has some treats and some interesting homemade snacks that are well worth the try. In fact, all things considered, I would say this is literally the only reason we will ever come inside such a bad grocery store again."

Clara C. "I'm not an expert on Filipino food. I think this buffet was a good way for me to see what kinds of dishes there are and to try them. I only came here because Mike Chen (aka, Strictly Dumpling) had a video about them on Youtube. I don't really know what I was eating, but the caldereta was really good, especially with rice. Besides hot foods, they also had orange slices and some desserts. This seemed like a small family-owned business. There weren't too many customers. It made me feel like the food just sits there and doesn't get replaced for fresh batches. There were so many signs about them charging for leftovers. They really don't want to waste food! I asked them if there was a difference between lunch and dinner, but there wasn't. I think lunch is just cheaper. There was plenty of parking. Bathroom is available. I thought I saw a small stage, so they might have live music!"

Kee M. "The ladies at Pinoy Fast Food used to work in the New Filipiniana restaurant and have brought with them the awesome Kaldereta (beef stew) recipe to this new place. Pinoy Fast Food is at the end of the Viet Hoa Shopping Center at Beechnut and Beltway 8. It is in what is called the International Food Court. There also used to be a chinese dessert place, a crawfish place and a gelato / coffee place in the food court but all these businesses have since closed. Pinoy Fast Food is the only one left. They serve breakfast starting at 8 am - and they have the meat, fried rice, fried egg dishes available around this time. They also have the Daing na Bangus (milkfish cured in vinegar, garlic, salt and pepper and then fried) breakfast and it is awesome.Rather than a buffet, they serve combo meals For $3.99 you get a choice of 2 viands and rice plus dessert (either banana in sweet syrup or guinataang halo halo - mixed fruits in coconut milk). Because im not a big buffet fan, the combo meal works for me. One can also purchase the food to go - they have small/medium and large portions. They also sell some baked goods or native rice cakes, mostly consigned to them by those who make the stuff. My favorites in PFF would be the kaldereta, the menudo and the laing (lotus leaf cooked in coconut milk). They also have an awesome Lechon Kawali (deep fried pork belly) and Filipino Pork BBQ, which is similar to a Sate - seasoned grilled pork in skewers. The service is friendly and very Pinoy. They can get busy around lunch, especially during weekends. They also accept party tray orders. They close at 7 pm."

Antho L. "Interesting location. It's in what's called an International Food Court but when me and my roommate waked in, it was the only eatery open in the whole space.I don't know what the story is and whether it's just the area but we talked to the guy who was the owner of the eatery named Ray and he said he was closing soon but did have a few entrees left if we both wanted a two item combo. At first he was somewhat suggesting that we maybe go somewhere else, to an all you can eat place that we both knew about but then we decided we just go ahead and stay just order the two item combo. He said he even had to check to see if he had any rice left in and showed us the Rice cooker and there seemed to be enough rice for the two of us so we decide we go ahead and order the two item combo. We selected the curry chicken and the caldereta which is beef in a tomato-based sauce which is a dish that I like.Ray said he would go ahead and prepare our plates for us I asked if we can have some of the pancit noodles that was sitting there and in addition to the rice and he seemed hesitant at first but then relented and said that would be fine. He loaded up our Styrofoam containers and said he would go and heat it up in the microwave because he had already turned off the heat lamps for the food. So we waited a few minutes and he brought out of our food. The taste was actually pretty good. It was definitely satisfying. I wasn't sure at first but after we finished it seemed like enough and I did enjoy the flavors. I just wish that he was just a little bit more generous especially since he was getting ready to close and I figured he'd have those leftover anyway so why not hook us up and give us some really good helpings but it didn't turn out that way. All in all it was a good experience. Could maybe come back earlier in the day at some point where there is more food more selections and in the food is warmer and more fresh. Otherwise the flavors for our order were on point. The two item was $8.99 so not too bad in this crazy inflationary period. He said that there was another location that he opened up with a partner closer to Bellaire which is the Chinatown area of Houston. He said he had five screens over there so he's going to serve meals during games and he has a liquor license and he won't just be serving Filipino food but other American type dishes as well. Could be something to check out one of these days."

Nina V. "Located in the food court at Understory in downtown Houston, my friend and I decided to eat here since we had passed it on the way to and away from the restroom (lol) and my god, the smell was hard to pass on. I never usually eat Filipino food but always knew they made food with great flavors. My friend and I settled on the mini kamayan, and like everyone else said, it definitely feeds 3-4 people instead of the 2 people stated on their menu. What a great value! The rice had a buttery/garlicky taste that was oh so good. The different meats within the kamayan all had their own flavors and textures. I was extremely impressed that I liked all of them. My favorite would probably be the grounded patties. The kamayan also comes with a sweet and sour sauce and gravy that compliments the meats. Shoutout to the workers there that night who really took care of me and my friend! They were the sweetest and had great energy."

Tiffany J. "BMP is a great place to hang out, especially for groups! I've done karaoke here a couple of times and have had a lot of fun. They have two karaoke rooms. I've only been in the larger one. I would estimate that it can accommodate about 10-15 people comfortably. They have an extensive song catalog which you can access via QR code. It's very easy and straightforward to use. The dining area is a moderate size and they have a nice patio out front. The staff has always been very friendly and attentive. They have reverse happy hour on Fridays after 9 pm.Drinks: Some of the cocktails that I've tried are the GQCucumber, the Red Panda, and the Sunset in Sulu. They also have mimosa and beer towers. On one visit, the server brought us a water tower which was so convenient for our large group.Food: The one dish that I've tried a few times and have consistently enjoyed is the Veggie Lumpia. The Brussels were too sweet and had way too much sauce. The Cucumber Salad is okay. It's tart and vinegar forward. It's not a salad, it's more like marinated sliced cucumbers. The Chickcharons aren't bad, but they are very greasy. Some pieces were a little too chewy for my preference. BMP shares a private lot with a few other businesses. There's a decent amount of parking and I've never had trouble getting a spot. There's also some street spots on 5th as well as Yale right in front of the shopping complex. BMP is a cool place with a cool vibe. I'm looking forward to coming back (and maybe trying an actual entrée)."

Jando S. "Hardcore fans of Filipino fare might be quick to point out that this is not comparable to the OG locations in Manilla (#1), I'm actually quite satisfied with my experiences here. Located in what feels like a Filipino plaza that also includes other Filipino big chains like Jollibee and Red Ribbon, there is a lot to appreciate here. Opened as of last year, this location still looks, feels, and even smells very new. The place is bright, spacious, and super ideal for all kinds of parties. When the bathrooms are clean, it makes my dining heart sing just a little bit. I've found that it's not ever too crowded in here, but that's probably because I'm doing my dining in the middle of the week.I've been to a handful of Max's internationally and this one probably stacks up just in the middle somewhere, but the service, modern interiors, and consistent offerings get a thumbs up from me. The food is solid with a good number of classic dishes that range from crispy patas to sisig to lumpia. Their claim to fame, the fried chicken, is available as a half and a whole for $11-15. It's not going to blow too many folks, but given how much variety they have, that's totally okay. The dishes I like here are the kare kare, pork skewers, lechon kiwali, and laing. The latter has a nice hint of coconut milk, which is crucial for the stewed taro leaves to be rich and an ideal comfort food option. Top it off with any of their ube ice creams, or perhaps their infamous halo halo, and life can be good.Prices are going to be higher than most spots, but I think that's by virtue of being a famous chain + a little pandemic inflation. Service has always been really good and I never hesitate to dine here with anyone, especially in a group. (#2) I still recommend coming to check this place out, especially for those who are craving some element of Filipino cuisine and looking to satisfy it in this part of the inner loop._____________(#1) And they'd be right. The whole market is filled to the brim with snacks from my childhood. The hot prepared food is better than most Filipino restaurants in the city. The bakery is stocked with every freshly baked Filipino carb your heart can handle. In just one day of opening, Seafood City has officially become my happy place. We are no longer limited to a 2-foot international section at the local H-E-B. Imagine aisles upon aisles of your favorite foods in every flavor imaginable: canned meats, longanisa, chicharron, biscocho, Danish cookies (or maybe sewing kits?), international sodas... Seafood City is all that and a bag of (shrimp) chips!Grill City, restaurant inside of Seafood City, offers all of the most loved Filipino dishes, such as BBQ skewers, adobo, all the pancits, lumpia, kare kare, foot-long turon, and more! And can you say FRESHLY FRIED CHICHARRON?! My heart is saying yes, but my arteries are saying no. Everything I tried at Grill City was excellent, and I never have to wait for a party at my tita's house to enjoy my favorite dishes again.Bakers Avenue offers every variety of Filipino baked good you can dream up - ensaymada, celebration cakes (like ube macupuno, and sansrival), and ALL the pan de sal. Now that I've discovered the corned beef-filled pan de sal, my life (and waistline) will never be the same. **Pro-tip: If you're buying something from the bakery, make sure to pay for it AT the bakery. Items in the bakery without a barcode cannot be purchased during grocery checkout.Hungry Filipinos and Filipi-nots (womp womp) alike will fall in love with this supermarket. Their Siopao Asado (steamed buns w/shredded chicken and a sweet garlic/soy sauce on the side) is so good, and if you'd like to try it on the go or in their cafe, they can warm it up for you while you take the rest of the pack home, since they sell by the pack. The Beef Lumpia Shanghai (Filipino egg rolls) are also tasty! The drink menu is extensive and colorful, and they of course have Halo-Halo here, a Filipino dessert staple! I haven't tried their Halo-Halo yet, but their UBAE Bee Milk Tea is a nice sweet treat. I love that they use actual Ube Halaya in it and not a powder base. The customer service was also so kind and efficient! Their cafe is also really clean and quaint. Overall, I'm so glad that iSnak is representing well and that I don't have to travel to Cali just to get some decent Filipino snacks (aside from my family's home cooking of course), but truly I know where I'll be to satisfy my Ube cravings on the go. So, decided to get a take out order to just try a little something...Pancit Bihon. Certainly pricy at $17, but they are trying to have a higher end appeal which I could tell by there inside ambience and decor. So we were crazy pleased with it! Not only did they have lime slices, they had a container with lime juice as well. It was really good! I actually had been graving it since then and wanting to try other things. So, that brings me to where their rating just drops. Time was limited, so I wanted to place a to go order. I called the number on Yelp, no answer...and oddly it goes to a cell phone. I decided to try a Google search to see if there was a different number there and ensure the hours aligned with Yelp. So yes, they showed open, but different phone number. I called 3x and no one ever answered. When I pulled up, they were open, but just don't answer the phone? Red flag number 1.I place an order to go of the Pancit Bihon ($17), Lechon Kawali ($19), and Adobo ($19). When I brought the food into my car, it literally smelled like garbage. That should of been red flag number 2. I do want to add the girl that took my order was very friendly and nice!So the review of the foods that we ate right away at home (still hot):1. Pancit - this it what smelled like garbage and tasted like the smell! It had no lime, no lime juice, and literally tasted like they pulled it from the trash or it has been left pre prepped for WAY to long and reheated! NOTHING like first experience. We threw it away, so a complete waste of money.2. Adobo - This is not adobo, it is more like a marinated Teriyaki meat. One bite and we were like big no. So again, waste of money number 2.3. Lechon Kawali- now the pork was fried well, prefer the smaller diced pieces, but not a deal breaker. There was ZERO sauce (usually has a soy vinegar sauce), not tomatoes or onions to mix in and add that sauce, so it was just meh. Luckily, I made my own sauce and cut it up. This was the only dish eaten.I don't think we will return. We wasted too much money for it to be so bad. Consistency matters in the restaurant industry and this order had too many downfalls."
