Ok, there seems to be some discretion on the first two reviews that the duck was "ice" cold. Based on what another reviewer explained and me asking my mother she too confided that duck is supposedly eaten at room temperature but CAN be heated according to personal preference. That is the reason for the 5 instead of the 4 star that I really rate this place as, offsetting the unfairness on that. Now that we got that out of the way may I warn you if you are squeamish at seeing hanging duck carcases in the window....then you might not want to drive by here, happy Holloween by the way and if you are a regular of any Asian Town (I detest being called China town, we're not all Chinese!) then you probably are immune to the scenery. Parking is a little tight at busy hours, but the restaurant is not really that big but to the side there are enough spaces to fill a stadium full of people. Lock your valuables etc, you're in the wrong part of town. The interior is CLEAN, new and even the restroom was pretty kept up clean. I wonder if this was a fluke, but I think not. The place is semi-divided between a restaurant and an ordering cafeteria type counter where you order your roast piglet or duck but it's all the same business. The menu is simple, the prices are low and the service is punctual. Who said these people were mean? We experienced nothing but harmonious service that would never let our water levels falter and the only rejection I got was you have to pay at the register, there are no tickets to bring to the table, minor!Mother had the "Vietnamese beef stew" and it had a good taste, not salty. It surprised me because I thought these dishes were automatically made with curry since toasted bread is accompanied with it, but I have been misinformed by myself all of these years, thank you mother. I also ordered the stew and an order of the grilled pork with rice which did have a good flavor. Each of these dishes were $5.50, you can eat here all day and not break the bank. The grilled pork was charred nicely with a proportion of rice that accompanied it by the side via "packed rice bowl turned upside down and tapped to let rice unstick", you've seen the ploy before. A few fork lifts of marinated lettuce on the side cars this dish, see posted picture.I snapped a few pictures of the menu except for the other side which they offer frozen juices, coffee, orange juice and such. Thank you for reading and I hope your visit here was as good as ours. Yelp it up!

We ordered Roast Duck & BBQ Pork. It was really good. I'm so glad they have added Veterans Memorial location, now I don't have to go to Chinatown to get wonderful roast duck & BBQ pork anymore. I'll keep coming back to trying different dishes. I'm looking forward to have the Wonton soup. It's the authentic kind , not the American Wonton Soup. Also the Spring roll too.

My parents begged me to pick up vit quay and heo quay from this place they say it's comparable to Bellaire location. Inside looks very clean, however also empty. Me and my brother were the only ones besides the staff. Workers knew English but you can tell they speak better Vietnamese. We sat and waited for our order. Usually I would expect them to offer a glass of water while we wait, they didn't and that's okay too. Reading previous reviews I didn't expect much. I'm just here for the food! 1 whole duck, 2 lbs of pork belly. They over cut the pork belly to 2.5 lbs. it's cool it just got it anyway. Total cost was $38. Was this pricy I don't know my mom always orders this. I can tell you that the duck was pretty greasy, and it taste better in between a fresh loaf of bread. The crispy skin of the pork was super crunchy and hard.

So I came here a few years ago and haven't stopped thinking about this place . & I can honestly say it is not what I remember at all . I went in about an hour before close so maybe I should have gone in earlier I'm not sure . Anyways I ordered the intestine and pig ear along with the pork belly & wonton soup. I asked for spring rolls and was informed they were out no problem . I think that me & the cashier/cook sort of got off on the wrong foot initially I asked for a pork belly he asked if I wanted half pound or a pound I just said half pound..I then asked if it came with rice or not and he asked why I asked for a half pound I just didn't realize that I was supposed to ask for the plate I apologized & then moved forward. My total including my drink was $31 the soup was $10 and I tipped $5 . The wonton soup broth taste like they just boil all the meat in it and use the broth as a soup & it is not appetizing . I had to add lots of spice and seasonings in there . I needed some broth so I ate it up but I probably won't order that again . The pork belly was delicious. The guy was nice enough to help me box up my food and put my soup in the container so I wouldn't spill it so I do think we flipped to a better coin by the end of my time here. I'm not sure if I'll come back or not if I do it will definitely be earlier in the day . Braised pig ears were okay

Hidden gem! Their location in Bellaire sucks so I figured it would be here as well too but I've been here 3x already and the thịt heo quay is moist and juicy! Other places I go to are so dry but not here! It's also flavorful and crunchy. Best thịt heo quay I've had in Houston so far.

I ordered mì hoành thánh. The bowl came out. The food looks ok. BUT, the rim of the bowl had a smudge of grease. I touched it and rub my fingers it was definitely grease. The same grease that is built up under a pot when not cleaned overtime. I kindly asked the waitress. "what was the sticky stuff on the rim on my bowl". She didn't say anything and walk straight to the back. At that point she knew she messed up. As she brought the bowl to the back hopefully getting a new one. I saw her grab the new bowl put it down and pour the old bowl over the new bowl touching the grease. At least I would've thought that she would made a new bow.I am writing this review to inform everyone know please inspect your FOOD and BOWL to see if anything is strange. After she brought it out I stand up took my ticket and paid for it and kindly walk out.

Only ask for 1 lb of food but they always weight more like literally double. I says I only want that much but my request was ignored. Food quality was ok. Not so much cleanliness!
