"Having been to the 1st location off Eldridge, I was so excited to see a 2nd location in Katy. The fresh roasted chicken and the sides are A+, just as good as the original location.I've only ordered the full family meal to-go which comes with a whole chicken with arepas and 3 sides:Chicken: juicy, tender, fresh, spiced to perfectionArepas: crispy and great with the sauce providedRice & Beans: all in one container, excellent! Fried Yucca: my favorite side, I get 2 orders! The green sauce is very very good! I use it with the chicken, as well. Will be back!!"
"What a quaint place I love it! Food was great service was great. Clean environment. And the pan!!"
"Owner is friendly and food is delicious! Go early b/c otherwise they will run out of the regular pan de bono, as I had to get the round one. Still delicious! I only had these items from the bakery portion of the menu but I would highly recommend !"
"Really enjoyed both of them. Tasty portions. Well marinated. Would order again particularly the Carne asada. The sides could have been tastier which is why I didn't give it 4 stars. But the meats are great"
"Food has always been good and service is fast. Authentic Colombian food. The staff is always friendly and I've never been disappointed when I've ordered food from them. Give them a try I think you will like it !"
"I stopped by Latino Bites Express for dinner on a Tuesday. This casual restaurant is located in a nondescript, small shopping center so parking won't be an issue. It's a relatively small restaurant with three or four tables so it seems like even though you can dine in, it's more of a grab-and-go type spot. Latino Bites Express brings together dishes from several Latin countries including Mexico, Venezuela, Columbia, Argentina, etc. You order at the counter and then they bring your food out to you. We ordered quite the feast so I got to sample a bunch of items off of their menu. This included their Latin burger which comes with avocado (always a plus) and a side of waffle fries. Beyond that, we also tried their quesadilla with beef which you can order with your choice of protein and two sizes. I also had an arepa with pork, an order of tequenos, and a bunch of sides including their elote, tostones, fries, and yucca fries. They also provide you with an assortment of sauces with the green one being mild and the rest hiking up the spice level. All of this was washed down with a watermelon agua fresca. All-around, the food was fantastic and great value for the price. The cashier was also super nice and friendly. I love the variety that their menu provides and I'll definitely be back to feast again!Added bonus: both a Yelp check-in deal and a Yelp deal are offered...choose wisely!"
"Stumbled upon this place and it was like finding water in the desert!! After lots of traveling, I was happy to find delicious affordable dishes that tasted home-cooked. I had the sopa de costilla de res which came with rice and an arepa. My boyfriend ordered a pan de bono which he said tasted like ones he's eaten in Colombia. Definitely stop in if you're in the area!¡Me topé con este lugar y fue como encontrar agua en el desierto! Después de viajar mucho, me alegre a encontrar platos deliciosos y barratos que sabían caseros. Tuve la sopa de costilla de res que venía con arroz y arepa. Mi novio pidió un pan de bono que, según el sabía a los que había comido en Colombia. ¡Definitivamente pasa si estás en el area!"
"Very. Delicious. Food. Most definitely order in advance and it doesn't matter if you aren't sure if you'll like it because I'm sure you will. There's a daiquiri place down the plaza and this went perfectly with our entrees. It took almost thirty minutes to receive our orders but the wait was well worth it. They also take cash only and don't charge tax!"
"How am I now just reviewing this place? I've been to so many Colombian restaurants in houston and this by far is my favorite. My favorite dish is the bandeja paisa; you truly cannot go wrong with that plate. I usually order take out and they are super fast. Also, I love how friendly they are. 5/5"
"Score!!! Random drive and look over in a strip center and said.... Omgosh.. we have to stop!! Friends and family are or have been to Columbia and rave about everything ... especially the cuisine.Very nice, hip and welcoming interior... Friendly Staff, colorful menu and while we stuck to our Keto diet and missed out on the carb sides and sweet beautiful desserts.. everything we enjoyed was flavorful and memorable!"
"Great food and service! We went for brunch and ordered several things to try. We will be back when in town!"

Today my grandson called this location to place three orders for pickup. I ordered roasted chicken (drumstick and wing) with rice. After returning home with the orders I proceeded to open up the box and I was truly baffled at what I saw in the box. I saw a wing that looked like it had been plucked from a baby chicken and not even a half of a breast which I didn't order and a cup of rice that was gummy. I asked my grandson how much was he charged for this food and he told me $10.00 I was so furious. This is my first time ordering from this restaurant and it will be my last. I can order a two piece with a side dish from Popeyes or Frenchy's and have a better meal and more for my money. Please improve your food portions or reduce your prices.

Food is amazing. I love their variety of fresh bread you can order from as well as the food you can come and eat. They have a small drive thru where you can call in your orders. The food was delicious and I have tried their mango and berry smoothie. They are both very refreshing. The ambience is great too. The playlist they have going on makes it a fun Latin place to eat and enjoy a meal with your family and friends. My favorite bread are buñuelos and pandebono. I am picky with where I buy it but they have nailed it. They have really good bread here and I'm so glad it's not far from where I live.

First time there, arrived before closing on a Sunday night. Ordered takeaway, a whole chicken with rice and beans, arepas, platanos, and yuca frita. It came with green sauce that was tasty. All the food was very good. The service was awesome too. I will be going back for cheese bread and other bakery items. If you haven't been here, you need to try it!

Visited for the first time last night and I'm the food was incredible. It was the epitome of comfort food, especially on a rainy Houston night. The service was great and the restaurant was clean. 10/10 will be back with more people.

Best Colombian food in Houston. Literally has every Colombian restaurant beat.!! 1. For starters the food is authentic! The empanandas are made with shredded meat instead of ground beef. The meat is tender and... TBH, this place will have you recalling grandma's home cooked meals. 2. The menu is literally a look-book, all items have pictures!!!3. Service- off the charts. EVERYONE makes you feel welcomed and there is a sense of belonging. Angie is radiant and her positivity is contagious.

I love random hole in the wall finds! This is a small cute restaurant. The gentleman in front taking orders was very pleasant. I ordered lunch to go and almost ordered one of every thing off the menu. I wanted to eat it all! My favorite was the shredded beef patacon (plantain sandwich). Who needs bread when you have fried plantains! (Which are absolutely my favorite). The salsas have a good kick to it. And I enjoyed the tres leches cake for dessert. I definitely will order again!

My husband is Colombian so we have gone to quite a few different Colombian Restaurants and some very popular. But we decided to try a new place and usually the hole in the walls are the best... sure enough this place did not disappoint! The food is amazing! Tastes like home cooked Colombian meals! We loved it so much we went back and took family! Needless to say this is our new favorite place for authentic Colombian food and bakery!
Visit Restaurant Page"I moved from NYC to Houston (Queens to be more specific). I was having a hard time finding a Colombian restaurant with the authentic flavors I love, and grew up with in my beloved Medellin. Yes, there are some Colombian restaurants in Houston, BUT when it comes to the flavors, quality and attention (yep, service is a really big deal for me!) they failed miserably.... You miss one of these key ingredients in a Colombian restaurant, and in my book is wayyyyy below my Colombian restaurant standards. Oh and don't even mention the coffee! Gosh if I go to a Colombian restaurant, I want my cafe con leche to taste like real Colombian cafe con leche and not from a Keurig (that's NOT how you make Colombia coffee) at a Colombian restaurant, period! Well knowing how great the Houstonian gastronomy is, I was not going to give up and visited a few Colombian restaurants, that were disappointing. UNTIL one day, Made in Medellin came up on my Instagram feed and something told me to check it out. I finally made it to Made in Medellin, and OMGosh .... My heart smiled when I saw the cargamantos looking soooo delicious on the plate and the delicious bandeja Paisa .... Not to be dramatic (ok yes, I am dramatic) but I felt my heart smiled! I KNEW they were freshly made and not from a "yuge" can! Let's not ignore the chicharrón... aka the piece of meat I don't feel guilty cheating with LOL! The mondongo is yummy, with very generous amount of mondongo in it. Have I mention how delicious their beef empanadas are? Oh and their own branded ground coffee .... Well you better hold my cerveza and brew me some fresh ground coffee! By the way don't forget to take home a pack of 10 large arepas! These babies can be warmed up anytime of the day and have them with breakfast or whateveeerrr! They are sooooo delicious too! So yes, I highly recommend Made in Medellin. Thank you Carlos and your brother for maintaining the authenticity of our Colombian food"
"I absolutely love my experience at Las Caleñas. This is a family owned and operated restaurant. And the food is delicious. My lunch date recommended we eat here and i have no regrets. My meal was a great value and it was delicious. Pro tip: They have a fruity smoothie menu that you can't go wrong with. Staff: Super friendly & bilingual ( because I can't speak spanish) Parking: plenty of parking in front and side of the building."
"I organized a group outing to Mi Pueblito. They had always given us separate checks. I admit. We were a bunch of folks, maybe 18. I was surprised when they told me only four checks per table. So we ordered by groups. The 20 percent tip was included. I understand giving separate checks can be a hassle but they've done it before. They carry a tiny machine where you can easily pay individually. The shrimps in the shrimp cocktail are tiny ones. They're served on top of an avocado with a pink sauce and served with crackers. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. My passion fruit drink was good; however $4.50 is pricey. The drink is made from a small frozen bag of pulp which you can purchase in a package. It shouldn't be more than $3.50. Unfortunately I won't be taking my Internations group there any longer. Paying individually isn't allowed any more."
"Stopped by late last night for a bite to eat. We ordered a Empanada, Bandeja Paisa and the Choripan. Everything was nice and hot and was cooked exceptionally well! Chimichuri sauce was good and gave the steak a nice flavor. I really liked that you didn't have to order at the truck. You can take a seat at one of the tables and one of the waitresses comes to you to place your order. I was really impressed with how smooth they run this truck. If you're on this side of town I'd highly recommend checking this place out!"
"I loveee the sancochos here :-) I'm so happy this place opened up because they have a great menu and the service is superb. The staff is really nice and welcoming. A plus is you get to listen to Latin music while you but it's not too long so you can also enjoy a casual conversation."
"Great service and food! This is now one of my go to places for Colombian food. The place was clean and inviting. I ordered the fried snapper, with a chicharron on the side. The previous week I had the Paisa plate. I have so many paisa plates all over Houston and to me this is the best one in the area."
"We had a large group. Most of us new to Colombian food. The staff was so patient and kind. Food was delicious and the limonada, excelente! We tried Many of the fresh juices and they were delicious. They have a lot of food options."
"Amazing steak dinner with excellent service. Varied menu at very affordable prices. Convenient location too!!! Recommended for all!!!"
"The best meat in town Colombian style meat a recommended place and good service"
"Risaralda is a gem in the rough! My husband and I love stumbling upon a family owned mom and pop shop. We come here and get the empanadas and sometimes the pasteles de pollo if they have any. Don't try to get them on Sundays as they will sell out. The empanadas fillings are savory and juicy and the best party CRISPY and HOT! The pasteles de pollo is hefty and a meal itself. It's like a chicken pot pie that you can hold in your hand. Don't skip out on the green sauce vinaigrette. It balances out the savory pastries. They do have other pastries but we have not tried them yet. I would love to try the having a meal there but we have too many people."
"Pretty tasty arepas and empanadas for a decent price! This is a food truck located right on Washington, in the parking lot near Heart! The bf decided to pick up some dinner for us one night and decided on an assortment of empanadas and 2 arepas! We got a cheese empanada, some potatoes and beef, and some potatoes and pulled pork. They were crispy, filled with lots of filling that was seasoned well, and fairly large! They come with 2 different sauces that add to the flavors! The two arepas we got were the Blondie (Catira) - shredded chicken with Gouda cheese! They came out hot, crispy exterior and delicious filling! I ate them cold when the bf brought them home and they were still good - can't wait to try them again fresh! He loves this place and we got a good amount of food for the price!"
"I've been here twice now and can definitely say this food is as good as it gets! They serve up all kinds of classic Colombian treats for breakfast and lunch. So far, I've tried: Pan de Bono - deliciously cheesyBunuelos - more subtle cheese flavor, but my Cali friend says they're really authentic. Lechona - holy mother of all that is tasty! This stuff is legit! Lechona is roasted suckling pig that is stuffed and spiced with all kinds of goodness. They serve it here every other Saturday (except during the holiday season). Get it! It's delish. Huevos Perricos Breakfast - super duper filling breakfast. Eggs scrambled with tomato and green onion have a great flavor. And the Plantains were fried to crispy perfection. And like every Colombian would expect, you get a side of rice, too, which works nicely with the huevos. Empanadas - I tried a sweet one filled with Guayaba paste and cheese. Suuuper good, try it!And last, but certainly not least, the Pony Malta - this is the only place I've ever seen carry this soda. I don't typically drink soda, but for this I'd change up my rules. It's delicious, and if you ever see it anywhere, try it!The lady who runs the place is from Bogota and knows her way around the kitchen. I can't wait to get back here."
"Not as authentic as I expected. I was looking for Puerto rican food and this place is more of a Dominican/Colombian and PRican FUSION. Flavors weren't really defined. Food took a while to come out and was OK. Service was slow, the place isn't welcoming."
"#ThankYouThursdayThanks Dodo's for having hand sanitizer, blocking off some seats, and having plexi glass between you and the customers. The beans and rice and chicken were delicious. I wish you had a less expensive lunch special. The quarter chicken with sides is $9. The outdoor seating was relaxing with a breeze coming through. The lunch special comes with chicken, three sides and a soda. I also chose boiled red potatoes and small arepas. I chose a Colombiana soda but paid $1.30 for it. Dodo's is a casual place where you order at the counter. While you get your order fairly fast and considered fast food, it's fresh."
"Old school Colombian spot! The rice and beans definitely is the key for me after working all day. Good spot very traditional and got lots of goodies on side ready to go !!! This place definitely needs more love and traffic food is very good !!!"
"Taking great care of me as soon as I walked in. Very busy , so it must be good right... Yes Good music too Next time I'll try the empanada de meat"
"I love the chicken here. Flame broiled on a rotisserie. Their beef bone soup is also good. Del res. Quick service. In and out."
"Saw this place as we were dropping some donations off at Goodwill and decided to stop by. The menu posted inside is very out of date so a lot of the items weren't available anymore. There are a few empanada options which were not clearly explained to us so we only ended up trying the Colombian empanadas. They were tasty but lacking meat. I also picked up quite a few pastries that missed the mark compared to what I'm used to back in Jersey."
"This restaurant is in the location where Saizon Latino and other Cuban places have given it a try. I stopped in to check out the new tenant and see what Colombian cuisine has to offer. I got the Salteado Mixto from the Specialties menu, and chased it with one of their Natural Juices--blackberry for me.Salteado Mixto is a saute of round steak, popcorn shrimp and chicken. The proteins are cooked in a hearty, savory, mildly tomato-based sauce with lots of onions and peppers. It is served with a sticky white rice that has some flavor on its own but is of course best in the dish--I just shoveled it all in there, it could be served that way. The proteins were definitely fully done but ate just fine in that sauce. It's a very generous portion, plenty for a lunch the next day and it tasted even better. The dish comes with a mashed fried plantain cake on the side. I'm generally not excited by fried plantain and no change this time. But the entree was very good overall. The natural juices are a kind of fruit smoothie. They offered water or milk as a base and I chose water, but I think I'd do milk next time. A nice refreshing complement to the meal. They have lots of other tempting traditional drinks that I would try in the future. The menu is extensive. There are lots of choices in the appetizer section that could be meals on their own or assembled into one for a lot of variety. They have breakfast all day (open at 8) and it looks great. Also Monday-Friday lunch specials that are under $10 on the menu. And a full bar!I regret not being able to sample the bakery or desserts--just ran out of time. The desserts are not on the in-restaurant menu but they have items on display on the bar so there are choices. The restaurant is definitely geared toward Spanish speakers--my server didn't speak English. I know a few words and with pantomime and some help from the bartender we did just fine. The bathrooms were clean and ready. Like other iterations in this location, the restaurant has kept most of the decor from the previous places. They did get rid of the thatch over the bar. They take advantage of the stage for live music on the weekends. Service is paced for a relaxing dinner, so don't hurry like I ended up doing.I can't quite round it up to a 5 but I'm happy to recommend it, and my understanding from Colombian acquaintances is that it's the real deal."
"Our company in west Houston orders catered lunches for our employees from this restaurant on occasion. The food is SOOOO good. And the fact that they can maintain food quality with mass production is very impressive. The chicken & mushroom sauce especially is do die for! My only complaint is that they don't have any locations inside Houston, otherwise I'd be eating here all the time! But it's 17 miles from my house in Westchase"
