"i think i have a love affair with Ca Mao for real. eg kids taken to school, a little bit of precious free time...and my thoughts have been about this first bite of banh mi and washing it down with a sua da for breakfast. i can't even finish it, i must write about this now and hope someone concurs. often i find myself aimlessly wondering the depths of h-town asian markets in vain perusing the shelves for a specific drink from Hanoi that i only can find in Ca Mao: canned Highlands Coffee, to die for, which is the epitome of coffee, imho, using the staple of the second largest producer of coffee beans in the world, Vietnamese robusta, the best type of bean that no one knows about and if you appreciate coffee at its roots for taste alone or secondly if you can see its future (which robusta is, ie more green, easier & cheaper to produce, more able to withstand climate impacts vs arabica, and superior flavor when done properly, like in this sua da). i digress because Highland perfectly segues into this market, a Vietnamese town center that has thrived and expanded massively over the years for a simple fact: everyone knows and loves their food and drink. interesting major historical side note: Highland was the first overseas Vietnamese private company registered in Vietnam in 1998. So also Ca Mao makes tons of proper, fresh banh mi baguettes everyday, the kind that crunch on the outside and are that perfect sponge for absorbing the meat & pickled vegg juices inside. their banh mi is heo quay (roasted pork) Xa Xiu (bbq pork, the pink sweet pork that is usually found in authentic Banh Mi) so basically bbq pork but with cracklings from the skin as you can see in my pics, a double crunch when you combine with the banh mi bread. the xi xiu is on a vertical spit hanging in the window literally sopping wet, profusely dripping, from which they shave off pieces including the crackling on the outside, like a trompo or spit, reminiscent of shawarma/pastor, into the banh mi. an experience indeed! and this is just the back. i've found everything i love here, like right when you walk in are the phins for viet drip coffee and cafe du monde NOLA bean cans, another passion of mine that is the american equivalent to the traditional vietnamese exported robusta in terms of flavor profile with its classic chicory and dark roast, the perfect substitute and typical beans used in most sua das found in USA. it's basically a kitchen supply store here too. i've even found ridiculously priced cleavers, straws, bowls, you name it. they always have really fresh produce like crazy cheap yet huge cilantro as well as lemongrass and bok choy, to name a bit. my kids always find some fun snack. my favorite brand of bulgogi marinade is here too, and so are amazing prices on a variety of spices i constantly need, like black peppercorns. my local best deal on sesame oil is here as well as rice noodles. i've only just begun exploring their ice creams, one of which was a boba, a coffee one (right up my alley), and mochis. i feel like i'm always discovering new things each visit. come see for yourself!"

"If you are considering coming here, you should Jusgo. If they sold all their juice, you'll be like - where did the Juicego? If the juxtaposition of Asian groceries in Texas no longer surprises you, you'll be like, where did the Juxgo? And if the girl with the amazing boobies (my girl perhaps) disappears around the back of the store (with me hopefully, but probably with a taller boy), you'll be like, where did the Jugsgo?There are two awesome Asian grocery stores side by side here now, on Hwy 6 in Missouri City/Sugar Land, and both of them are excellent, although there are better ones in town such as the 99 Ranch on I-10 in Spring Branch.You can find food in here and a bakery and various delights. Its been remodeled recently and has lots of car doors full of shops and whatnot. That was supposed to say corridors, but car doors sounds more intriguing.It's really quite interesting and very well done. Having said that there are some things about it that could be better, and it's been pretty dead (for the extra businesses inside) during Corona.On the one hand I don't like supermarkets but on the other hand I like this one. That's quite a Jusgtaposition."

"Hours as of 5/22/20: 8:30am - 8:00pm M-SunIt took 3 tries before my husband was finally able to make it into Jusgo. The first two times we tried to go right before closing and both times they were already closed. We finally called and found out they close at 8pm these days. Should've called earlier!I've always preferred shopping at Jusgo because I think their produce are the freshest (most of the time) compared to other Chinatown grocers. I also found some of my favorite snacks here, and there's always new snacks that tempt me to try. In these days of not dining out, snacks have become my new splurge. A note of warning, this place seems to be always busy, no matter what time I've visited. Social distancing is essentially impossible. The aisles are also narrow to the point that two carts cannot comfortably pass each other. However, there is now plexiglass windows at each of the cashiers so that's good they are watching out for their workers. Nevertheless, will still be returning with mask and sanitizers for my chinese veggies and snack refuels!"

"The comments about the rude cashier/employee is true. I think this place would have better reviews if she was nicer. Other than that their products tend to be a bit pricier than the bigger Asian stores that are not Filipino specific like viet hoa, hmart, or 99 ranch but you may find more specific Filipino brands here. It is also conveniently located near jollibee, red ribbon and Max's. They also have a very small meat market and a decent turo turo place inside which is nice. The place definitely has potential to be great. I hope the owners pay attention to what people say."

"We were getting a faloodah at Agha Juice across the street and the friend my sister and I were introducing to the Mahatma Gandhi District was interested in visiting a grocery store in the area. Well, we walked out and we saw the name of this place and it was a sign. We drove the short distance and had a fun time trying to find a parking spot. We ended up finding one around the back of the shopping center where all the back doors for the employees were. As a note, there was a shopping cart lying snack dab in the middle of the road of the parking lot. Major negative points for that. When we left the store, a lady who was backing out of her spot accidentally hit it with her car; we ended up dragging it out of the way so she could back out without getting out of the car to remove it herself. Back to the store! It's a pretty good size and I was excited. I usually go to another Indo-Pak store so I was curious to see what other stores offered. It was a little more crowded, perhaps because we were there in the middle of the day (most of my grocery runs are at night). The store's cleanliness was okay. They had a fairly decent selection of foods but I noted that they had a distinct lack of vegetarian - Jain vegetarian in particular - choices. This saddened me since we're vegetarian but don't eat onion and garlic, so that meant we couldn't eat most of the food. Their flours and spice choices were fine, but not the best. They had a good amount of snacks as well. There was a booth giving out samples of some snacks, which we were offered despite being the only non-south Asian people there. Yay! I also liked the small section in the back that sold various wares for cooking/serving. Despite it all, it wasn't my most favorite grocery store, perhaps due to the lack of variety of food I could eat (where are my Jain samosas?). Although it is a good size, it isn't the largest and it seemed like the aisles were closer together, giving it a comparatively more cramped feeling. This also meant that though they had a decent variety of stuff, it wasn't as extensive as my usual store. Other than the two people giving out samples (I'm sure they were sent by the company and not employees of the store), we didn't have any other interaction with the store's employees. It was okay, but I probably wouldn't stop by again, especially with the state of the parking lot. However, it is somewhat convenient to get back on 59 - just go out the back past the Whataburger onto the feeder road. This is awesome if you don't want to get on crowded Hillcroft and to save some time."

"Vishala is a low key Indian grocery store in the Katy area. It has a variable selection of Indian groceries considering the small size. I like coming here because pricing is awesome plus they make fresh food. Recommend the butter chicken, paneer masala and green onion roti. Whilst these curries have great flavor, they tend to be on the watery side. They also have some fresh baked naans, rotis and fried snacks available. This is where I suggest to go if you are looking for inexpensive, exotic spices. We stocked up on green and black cardamom, turmeric, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, pomegranate seeds, asafoetida and garam masala. It's also a great place to get tamarind. There is a crazy selection of different types of rice. The typical basmati, brown basmati and this seriously small grained basmati. Those are just a few they carry. Plenty of lentils, mung beans and chickpeas too. Produce is a smallish section but everything looks really good. There is also yoghurt. A lot of yoghurt. Even gallon sized. Waaaay cheaper than what you can get at HEB or Kroger and very delicious. There are little finds around the store. Unusual pastas, different snacks and candies too. Coconut oil is less expensive here as well as beauty products (especially hair care). If you're adventurous and love Indian food, this is definitely a place worth checking out."

"I thought this market was great even though it didn't have some items I needed. The market was very nice and clean and had lots of open space. The selection of produce and pantry staples is very nice. The meat is also fresh and they definitely keep their seafood area nice and clean which I like a lot compared to 99 Ranch Market. Welfresh also has nice specials and a little buffet inside with fresh food. I didn't get a chance to try it but it smelled delicious! I also like the dessert options here. Overall I really liked it and I will be back."

"Review 10!The other day after having dessert around here i noticed this place and was curious to check it out. My family always goes to Chinese stores whenever they need everyday foods like vegetables and stuff, and I wanted to see other groceries other than the typical American ones and the Chinese ones we frequent so I decided to look around this Indian Grocery. It's pretty hidden from view and I only found this place when driving back from an ice cream shop. I've actually been to a couple Indian groceries already but this one is unique to the area due to the fact that there is also a small restaurant inside too! I only ordered a sweet lassi this time but it was good so I may be back to get other things. The market itself is ok. The aisles are kind of small and hard for me to get around but the service was very friendly. You can probably find some desi goods here that can't be found in other stores (maybe). It's not the closest Indian market to me, but maybe I could come back for the restaurant."

"This place has the freshest produce, seafood and meats. When you step into HongKong market, it's like you've been transported to a land far, far away. The smells and textures leave you in amazement! Their fruits and veggies are exotic, excellent for those hard to find items. I am fascinated by the packaging. This go-round I bought two different types of jelly in a cup, wasabi chips and the drink that comes in a glass bottle that has a glass marble inside! (Don't worry, you won't choke on it.) It's very trendy. At the check out counter they had fresh orchids, some of the biggest I've seen. This is definitely one of my favorites!"

"Wait...this is a grocery store with a kitchen area inside! Really wait, this is a meat market as well! I actually watched them cut up the meat that they are packaging in the store. They say that their chicken is grass fed and raised with no extra stuff in it, so I am looking forward to trying a chicken product from them. The place is surprisingly big inside and offer a huge variety of imported items. There are samples available throughout the store & a wide variety of items to serve, presumably, the Middle Eastern tummy! Plenty of imported goods are through the store which included drinks with Arabic writing on them. They sell mixed olives by the pound, which I saw several people excited about that. They also sell baklava and other types of candies that are common in the Middle East. I saw different types of imported lentils, rice and other goods that must be a true taste of home for those from that region.I am sure no one wants to here about that stuff though. I was really in the mood for a gyro, so I ordered a reasonably priced gyro with fries. Before I left with my to-go order, I was given a sample of hummus. This is the second best hummus that I have tasted. Read past reviews to see who I think is the first! Fries were fried well and seasoned well. They only gave me a slight handful, but I will not trip on that. The gyro itself had pretty presentation...was put together well...looked tasty...however you choose to say that it looked as though it should taste good! It was a good size, so I knew I would be content after eating it. The produce on the gyro was fresh and you could tell that my gyro was freshly made. I am not certain if the meat itself was seasoned to awesomeness, but I know the sauce they gave me to put on the gyro was yum mixed with I wished I had more of it! I enjoyed every bite of my gyro, and made sure to wipe the inside of the sauce container with my last bite of gyro. From the previous reviews, I need to try a chicken shawarwma (Not sure if that is spelled correctly) as well. I am looking forward to giving this business another try at impressing me. They are off to a good start."

"This place does the job. I hate the parking, the long lines, and sometimes the people, but it has the biggest selection of items compared to other Vietnamese markets in the area. Just know that there are ridiculous people everywhere, and this place is no exception. There was a lady who opened all the egg cartons and chose each individual egg to switch into one egg carton. There was another woman who decided that she would silently walk up and stand next to me while I was in line. She kept trying to move an inch forward and skip the long line without saying a thing. Then, she opened her mouth and asked to go ahead of me while already putting her things down. There is no point in raising your hand if you're going to be talking at the same time. There is no point in asking me if you're already doing all that you can to skip in line. There was another occasion when someone pretty much ran over another customer with her shopping cart. She was going straight. The old woman was right in front of her. She only crashed into the old lady because she acted like the aisle was all hers and was speeding through with those sunglasses on. Oddly enough, I don't remember seeing this level of absurdity at other Vietnamese/Asian markets. Come here often, be patient, and you will achieve enlightenment."

"I love Asian super markets for a lot of reasons, but one of my top reasons is the Chinese BBQ rice plates!!!Rumor has it that one of the siblings of Wing Kee now works the BBQ station here. This is not confirmed, so don't quote me, but I can definitely vouch for how delicious their Chinese BBQ is. I wouldn't say it's the same as Wing Kee, but it's the same caliber. I didn't experience the same earth quaking crunch of the fried pork skins, but it still has that nice crisp. Perhaps this was because I didn't eat it right away though, so I'll have to go back again purely for comparison and not because I'm craving some more now. If you go, choose the pork, duck, and char siew combination so you can have a bit of each.My wife and I were able to share one plate and be satisfied. Most of these type of rice box specials come packed with rice, so if you are trying to watch your carbs, you can ask for less rice so you don't have to waste it (or be tempted to eat the entire thing like me)."

So, my review is only for their full service halal butcher shop. They have mutton, lamb, beef, chicken etc. They have good quality meat at a decent rate. They have packed meats at the racks. I usually enter the butcher shop and request them according to my liking. For mutton, I ask them either a shoulder or a leg piece and request them to cut into small cubes. They are not very good at English but they have so far fulfilled my request. They are good at their job. They also have packed whole chicken cut into cubes. I don't really shop here for their groceries nor have tried their restaurant yet. However, for their meat and butcher service I'd give them a 5/5."

"They've been in business for approximately six months one of the owners said. Their parking area was clean and ample. The grocery isles are nicely spaced. The shelves are very organized and look very neat. They have a good selection of food as well as non-food items. They have a fresh produce section that looked clean & neatly organized with a nice selection.At the door you will find complimentary chai tea. The owner himself offered and prepared it for me while I waited for my food. I think that was an excellent touch of personalized and friendly service. We chatted for a minute while my food was prepared. He offered a suggestion off the shelf when I inquired about something sweet. I had four samosas and a chicken curry & naan to go. It was very tasty! Just the right amount of spice and heat combination. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The serving size is enough for two or, in my case, enough to have leftovers for the next day! I wouldn't want to share it though. I want it all to myself! #greedyI asked if there was somewhere I could sit, he says that there will be seating available soon. That's going to be an excellent addition! Overall, my first time there was a great experience and I will most definitely be a returning customer next time I am in the area. Best of luck to this business!"
