"We had a great time at the Bullet Grill House while visiting Lake Livingston!I chose the "build your own burger" option, and my fiancé ordered the Bite the Bullet Burger, which is a double burger with pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, and grilled jalapeños on a jalapeño cheddar bun. The burgers were delicious! I really appreciated how soft and fresh tasting the buns were.We shared the sweet potato fries and mac & cheese as our sides, which I really enjoyed as well. Our waitress was friendly, and our food was brought out quickly! If you are visiting Lake Livingston/ in Point Blank in the future, I recommend checking this spot out for dinner."

"I was excited that Shake Shack decided to open up in my area. So, we went to try them out. There was a pretty hectic energy when we arrived. But, our order was ready and service by the staff was efficient. It was pretty clean inside this spot. They also had two drive thru lanes, which reminded me a lot of Chick-fil-A. We saw on their website that they had a July BOGO deal for their milkshakes if you sign up on their Shake Shack app and order between 2-5 pm. Here's a breakdown of what we ordered: Triple chocolate brownie shake: very chocolatey and lots of chocolate chips. Very sweet. If you have a sweet tooth and love chocolate, this is your jam. Cookies and Cream Shake: Love this! It was creamy and not too sweet. If you love Oreo cookies minus the very sweet filling, this drink is it. I would definitely order this again! Strawberry shake: It was pretty sweet, but it was creamy and had a nice strawberry flavor. Smoke shack: Delicious, but a bit salty from the cherry peppers. ShackBurger: Beefy and fresh. To be fair, I also ate the classic Smash Burger on the same night for comparison. Shake Shack has a good quality, aromatic beef patty and their potato bun is pillowy soft. But, man are their burgers small compared to Smash Burger. If you're really hungry, the ShackBurger would be like eating more of a snack. 'Shroom Burger: my sis said it was heavy for a mushroom burger. It was meaty because it was a portobello mushroom and the cheese was tasty. If you're a vegetarian, this would be a good option for you. My sis loves beef, so she'd rather eat the beef burger next time. Overall, Shake Shack is a great addition to the SL area. We will be back to try their other milkshakes, burgers, chicken sandwiches, French fries, and soda floats. Come check out this Shake Shack location if you're in the SL area."

"This could have easily been 5 starts for me ...I came here for breakfast and for the amount of food and deliciousness, this is by far the best deal you can find in the Downtown Tunnels. First of all, this place is incredibly clean. This could've been because it was only morning and everything and been wiped down and I think I was the first person there, regardless, I ordered the omelette, which comes with the option of three items with your choice of cheese, potatoes, and biscuit. I had them made mine with swiss (they didn't have mozzarella) bacon, tomatoes, and onions, and a side of gravy. The omelette was made with cheddar instead of Swiss and the onions could have been could a little longer, but this meal actually was enough for 2 people. Everything was so delicious and just what my cube mate and I needed to start our day! P.S. the food did not make it in time for a photo"

A restaurant specific deal gets an extra star every time. 50 nuggets and a large drink for under ten bucks, not including tax, is a winning deal for me!Keep the deal and keep the extra star...as simple as that really! "2.18.23 My hubby and I decided to venture around our new area and try Whitehall Icehouse. A friend recommended their breakfast but we were slow moving and missed breakfast and made it for lunch. I ordered a hamburger and coleslaw and my husband ordered a Cuban sandwich with fries. My burger was incredible. The bun was so fresh and the meat had a great flavor. Oh, and the coleslaw was super tasty. I ate a few of my hubby's fries and they were very good. Not greasy! The portion size was enough for 2 people. His Cuban sandwich was made with thin ham instead of thick. He said it was good but not what he was expecting. (He would not order it again) Now, let's talk about the snickerdoodle cookie I bought. O M Goodness it was the B E S T snickerdoodle I have every had! My hubby agreed!! I wish we would have bought more, but it was good that I didn't. I would have ate all of them! There desserts change every week and they serve breakfast only on the weekends. Also they were having karaoke later that evening. This place looks so fun. It was super clean and inviting. This might be one of my new favorite places. I have to tell you the area where Whitehall is located is absolutely beautiful. One of the sweet girls working there said the bluebonnets cover the fields around there. Also, the Whitehall community center is just up the road and has all kinds of events. There is a car show coming up. This is a MUST stop!!!"

"I think I might be the only person who is not a fan of Whataburger. Yes their burgers are big but, the lettuce is always really bitter tasting, too much mustard and way to many onions. And I love onions but that is just way to many. The fries are always limp and greasy. The sodas sizes are extremely big. Who needs all that soda??? (No one.) Whenever I eat at Whataburger; I always exchange the soda for a shake. I do like their vanilla shakes. They are thick and really good. But I don't always want to get a shake. Since my hubby loves Whataburger, I have tried several different items on their menu but nothing really hits the spot for me. I have decided to just call it done for me and Whataburger. The stars are for the good shakes."

I offered to pay if it were an issue but they kindly remade them free of charge, which I appreciated because I do bring my nieces and nephews here often so I'm glad they didn't make that a big deal. We showed up right at 11 am and we were the first customers. My wife and grandbaby and I shared the chicken tender basket. Came with crispy fried chicken tenders and fresh cut fries, country gravy and toast.....there was nothing left but a few fries. I had to try the Nola Muffaletta Burger with a beef patty topped with their homemade olice dressing/salad, swiss cheese and a mayo sauce of their own creation. No part of this burger survived it's encounter wit' me. The fries were done to perfection and the fried okra was just as good. We did haves some fries and okra left over, they were too good to leave behind so we snarfed them up for dinner. You order at the counter and they bring it to you in a short length of time. We'll be back."

This place is counter service, so we were able to place our order and find seating for our group of 7. Food came out hot and fast. My son had the chicken tenders. I had to break them up because they were hot, and you could see the steam coming out. The blackened fish and shrimp were tasty, with just enough spice to give it a kick. The rice and green beans were a complimentary side. When we come back into town, we will definitely go back."

Anyway, I decided for another visit a week ago for lunch. This restaurant has limited parking and offers a drive thru line. Inside its a counter service restaurant where you pick up a tray and slide it down the line while directing the staff as to what you want from the steam table. I went with the 1 meat 2 sides meal for $15.25 and chose a 1/2 chicken with beans and potato salad. While I thought the chicken did have a smoky flavor their bbq sauce is salty to me. The beans are ranch style which I don't particularly care for and prefer baked beans with brisket and onion better. The mustard based potato salad could have been creamier and I didn't finish it. I was torn between giving a 2 or 3 score here. The staff was very friendly and I could tell during my visit that this place is kind of popular with the locals as I saw several people dining here and also going in the drive thru. I don't think I will return but will give the benefit of the doubt due to the apparent local support and give a 3."

Before coming here my favorite pork chop used to be the one you get it Perry's on Fridays. This pork chop is much better, much more tender as well. This pork chop full flavor, like I said it's the best pork chop I've ever had in my life. I was very happy with it. He also tops it with like three or four nice sized grilled shrimp and some and andouille sausage as well. The gravy and rice have a crawfish in there as well. You can tell they went out of their way to make sure this meal was amazing. Everything was really good. Even the salad they brought out was really good. I will definitely come back and try more things off their menu. The burgers look amazing, the wings look amazing, this looks like a really good place to eat. Overall. You cannot go wrong.I felt like I walked into a time capsule. I felt like I walked into the either the 1970s or the 1980s. It's a really nostalgic feel when you go in there. I have to give them mad props for keeping that look because it's a very distinct look. It feels like you're just stepping into a time capsule.Like I said the service was great and I'm very happy I stopped in today. I'm not sure how long they been here but I suspect I've been here quite a while and I also believe they will be here for many years to come. Do yourself a favor and stop on in and give JJ lounge a try."
