House of Pho

So I've written a review of House of Pho before, but it was for their noodle dishes, which are excellent. But this time I'd like to do a shoutout to maybe their less known dish, Banh Mi. They call it a Vietnamese hoagie which isn't wrong by local standards, but I think French-Vietnamese sandwich would be a sexier name for it. Bread was introduced to Vietnam when it was a French colonial, among other things, but the Vietnamese put their own twist to the sandwich. I had the roast pork Banh Mi with Yucca fries both are delicious. The roasted pork Banh Mi was sweet and savory with cilantro, pickled carrots and radish (trust me this stuff is good), and other goodies as well. If you want to try an original fusion food, you can't go wrong with Bahn Mi.

Figured I would try this place since its close to my new home. Saw the prices... and its a bit high... however I am aware of the high cost of food & labor now, so it's acceptable. But when I got home to open the takeout...such small portions! Most Vietnamese restaurants still use the quart size soup containers for pho soup... and regular entrée containers for the noodles/meat and other entrees. Food taste is average

The service is subpar sadly but they do try they simply miss the mark. The fresh spring rolls are very tasty but the dumplings are small and over priced, with mismatched dipping sauce. Sadly the egg rolls are tiny, greasy, and lack flavor. The lemon grass chicken was tasty, but was lacking an adequate amount of chicken!!! Lots of cheap raw cooked mushrooms and a load of vermicelli noodles but again the balance was completely off. Also the sauces on the tables are mismatched. Overall they try and some may enjoy but not me. Disappointed as the owner states you'll leave as family, not so much.

Went here with my parents and I gotta say it's just alright. Not bad by any means, but just average tasting food. We started off with the chicken bites and they tasted good, but the portion was really small for almost $8. I had the house special pho and it was a little bland, but better with the portions this time around. The reason for the three stars is just the fact that it tastes average and the prices are (in my opinion) way above what they should be.

Ate there a few times and the meals were wonderful. The coffee is exceptional. The location is convenient.

Absolutely disappointing. Pre Covid it was still decent. We ordered take out tonight. I threw the spring rolls out. The rice paper was impossible to chew thru! So not worth this price! Worse than some piece of bubble gum. Beef pho barely had any meat in it. The fried dumplings were over fried and not worth the price as well.

I don't live in the area but I do work down the street and gave this place a try. It was cold and I just wanted comfort food. I love pho and it's hard finding a place with great broth. House of pho didn't disappoint. It was delicious. I do wish the pho had a tad bit more meat as they increased the prices recently but that's minor and won't stop me from coming back. The summer rolls were absolutely perfect as well as the presentation. They called them fresh spring rolls on the menu. These were the first summer rolls I've had that actually had flavor. Lots of filling not just noodles and shrimp! I loved it.

The food is always delicious. Fabulous service. Great environment. I would recommend to anyone who looking for great Vietnamese food.

I've never been to a restaurant where the owner comes out of the kitchen and says in a loud voice," we are closed. everybody must leave now." ! Very rude. and the quality food is Mediocre at best
