Love this place! Once you open the door, it's a coffee lovers paradise. They have their annual holiday coffee gift set which is awesome and tasty. I bought 4 today and they also have frequent customer card that gives free coffee after a certain pounds of coffee are bought. It's an intimate store and easy to find yourself and others great coffee and coffee lover gifts.Highly recommended!

Super rude staff. I called to check on the order I placed. The caller immediately smirked (yes it was smirk, not a friendly laugh) before she even said any word and said in a very condescending tone "we don't deal with orders placed online but I'll take a look. What's ur name." What she said didn't even make any sense and it certainly didn't give off I'll assist you vibe. Then within literally 2 seconds, she repeats in a louder demanding tone, "WHAT IS YOUR NAME." I confronted her right at that moment as she was blatantly RUDE to me, then she adjusted her behavior. It shouldn't have to take me calling her out on her rudeness before she sounded more assisting. She SHOULD'VE been assisting and welcoming from the beginning! Ruined my morning! Coffee may be good but they need to treat their customers right. Plain rudeness! Because of her rudeness you can guarantee I'll never purchase another coffee from this place again! I already purchased $70 worth of coffee on this recent order only (probably way more including previous purchases) but this will be the last time I'll be returning to this place with condescending staff! I am not putting up with anyone's rudeness. If you wanna keep loyal customers, train ur staff right.

Love this Houston temple to the complex symphony of coffee's contribution to my mornings!! The House of Coffee Beans has been a mainstay for decades and decades. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their wide variety of coffee beans from around the world. Each visit to their cozy store is a cheerful conversation about the week that was as well as the week ahead as we average about one pound of coffee beans every seven days. I've been a long time customer and they have never (ever) disappointed me.

I have TRIED to go elsewhere for coffee when I run out and it's Sunday or Monday. (They're closed on those days) I have somehow become ultra sensitive to the freshness of my coffee beans. I can't drink any other coffee! Even Starbucks smells like the beans were crushed last week and left unprotected. I'm a HCB addict.

Very small but cute place. There's a gigantic mug tree that takes up 20% of the space on the floor. It smells beyond amazing in here. The owners were very helpful and were able to give pointed direction on which coffees to buy as gifts once we provided the recipient's coffee tastes. The bags come in 1/2 lb or 1 lb increments; holiday bags are 12 oz apiece. We got 4 different bags to gift and are excited to hear feedback regarding the coffee. Prices did not look unreasonable to me as coffee never comes cheap. It's definitely way cheaper than getting a few drinks at SBux. The bags come standard with whole coffee beans but they will grind them for you at no charge. There is a LOT to choose from and there are decaffeinated options available, too. There's also a large assortment of coffee makers and tea steepers on the floor. I saw a few different types of tea on display. You can get coffee to go but what they have on hand is limited to what was brewed that day. Credit cards are accepted!

I used to get H‑E‑B southern pecan coffee until we walked into house of coffee beans one day. Their southern pecan coffee has pecans throughout the blend. I will NEVER go back to the H‑E‑B brand! They have a good sized parking lot and everyone who works there is always so nice!

Great place to buy your beans! Love the rewards card (buy 10 lbs get 1 free), staff is always super friendly, great prices, always parking available, and most importantly - fantastic coffee. So far my favorites are the Kenya AA and Mexico Altura. I have tried a few of their coffees that weren't my #1 favorite but none have been overroasted or anything like that - just a matter of preference. For that reason, I wish they would put more flavor profile descriptions on their website like most roasters do. It's easy enough to go ahead and ask for suggestions in store, but I can see how it might be pretty vague if you order online.

I stumbled in here because I was in the area and actually just wanted a cup of coffee. When I realized it was just coffee beans, I thought I would still do a little shopping. I hate grocery store coffee and am still working off coffee from a coffee shop in New Orleans when I was on vacation so it was long overdue that I stumbled into a place like this.I absolutely love the smells and the aesthetics of the shop. It is very small but feels homey. Melissa welcomed me when I walked in even though she was helping another customer. It felt like this was a place that has a lot of regulars as the customer in front of me was buying 11 bags. I did not feel unwelcomed as a newcomer. The selection was more than I could ask for and I was happy there were some flavored/sweet options . I purchased turtle pecan and snickerstrudel. I appreciated the 1/2 lb option and thought it was affordable. Melissa explained the process and confirmed what kind of coffee maker I had at home so my beans were given to me properly. She was very friendly and I loved all the choices. I will be back!

Friendly staff, fair pricing, family owned, wide selection, and freshly roasted beans. What's not to like? When making espressos and espresso based drinks, freshly roasted coffee beans play a key role in achieving that perfect shot. This place offers a wide selection of freshly roasted coffee beans that range from about $6-8 dollars for a 1/2 pound bag (as of July 2022). They don't offer any Gesha beans, but I didn't expect them to.Each bag you buy shouldn't be more than a week from their roast date. Roast dates aren't printed on bags so you'll just have to trust them.Staff is always friendly. They are knowledgeable too. If you aren't sure what you want, they are happy to give you suggestions based on what flavor profile you are looking for. They also have samples for you to try (usually it's just one or two types made from a pour over). Newbies to the coffee world are welcomed too without judgement. You can come here to buy a cup of coffee to go if you want. I don't recall seeing a menu for actual drinks, nor have I ever bought an actual drink here before, but I've seen plenty of customers do so.Interior is a bit out dated with little to look at, but I just come for the coffee beans.I really think this place has some strong potential to open up a cafe next door or something, but perhaps they want to keep things simple. I like simple.

We are frequent customers and everything was going very well until recently they sold us a coffee that I don't know if it was old or poorly roasted. We brought the coffee beans as they sold it plus a ground sample to show them that it was wrong, we explained what was happening, the grinder rattled as if it were grinding stones, once we used another coffee we verified that it was not the grinder. The lady who helped us said that they couldn't do anything, that they didn't cover the warranty, that in the future they would start putting labels on the packages with the roasting date so that customers would know that it wasn't old. I wonder what good it is for us when a situation like ours occurs. The coffee ended up in the store's trash can and we lost our money.
