This place is not for 'grown ups' and by that I mean anyone who would consider themselves an older Millennial or gen X is probably not going to feel this vibe. I myself am right on the cusp of the two generations; A true Xennial if you will and this space is really for those who want to up their Instagram profile. The curated experiential rooms are impressive to behold, but do feel a bit kitchy. And honestly I was in the serious sensory overwhelm being in the space. There's light. There's color. . . even smells. It's a lot.Stopped in after being across the square at Watts & Ward, which is a totally different vibe and I wish I had stayed there. But if you're reading a five star review about this place, it is definitely for a particular type of aesthetic and type of night out. This was not what I was looking for when I thought art space and drinks.Drinks here were overly sweet and very much catering to a less sophisticated palette. My friend and I got two different drinks. One came with a sugar rim and a literal stick of rock candy. The other, mine, was a gin based drink in a champagne flute and came with a handful of dried rose petals on the top. Rose petals work for aromatics if that's what we're going for. And as a gin drinker that's usually my vibe. But the way it was done here just led to an awkward experience of trying not to chew dead flowers. Also, fact: the more sugar in the drink, the more hungover you're going to be. Rock candy and booze? No.The outdoor space is less rococo in it's design, but the music is definitely way too loud and not conducive to having a chill evening of conversation with folks. They also featured an interesting trailer type situation outside which looked like it was an art space where you could write Valentine's (cute) but because it was a very tiny trailer, you couldn't really stand straight up inside and the heat couldn't be regulated, which is definitely a drawback..All in all interesting space, just not for me. I hope this review helps others on their adventures. If my tween daughter had a gaggle of friends and wanted to hang out here to take selfies and be cute, I might head up before the 9:00 hour when it turns into the over 21 experience.

The different rooms are so creative and cute. The bartenders are so nice and patient. I love all the games in the back and the open mics

This place has a cool vibe. I visited during Dreamville festival weekend. Each room had a different theme, very cool & instagramable. It was a very chill vibe with a dj. You can order food and they have a bar. They have outdoor seating with two fire pits, menu is small and all food was around $15. The entry fee was $20 and the payment options were cash, zelle or cash app. Parking can be tricky since it is located downtown. They stay open until around 1am. I would recommend checking this place out if you're in the area..

I appreciated it from an artistic standpoint and think it was worth a visit especially considering it was free (just had to RSVP online). It is a unique space. I went for the Dreamville Festival pop up bar. The decorations in various rooms included pictures of performers from the festival line up. I wish the atmosphere was more lively but just a lot of people staring at their phones. I think it's difficult to connect with people because it's divided into rooms like a house and the rooms are small including the room with the DJ/dance floor.

I was advised to visit House of Art NC from another Yelp Elite, Marissa (thx, girl!) and I'm so glad that she did! I'm just a visitor and don't know one lick about the area, other than its location is downtown and across the street or adjacent to Watts and Ward (a speakeasy that I still want to visit), located on E Hargett. There's a parking lot, if you get there early enough and some street parking available. House of Art NC is like a museum of eclectic art, literally a photo opportunity or selfie corner at every turn. Everywhere has a theme. There's four rooms, two hallway themes, a patio (where they have stand-up comedy), a blue bus and a deck (where they cook/serve food - they have a business whose name I forgot that cooks cheese steaks and fries outside. There are old skool games EVERYWHERE... trouble, Uno, checkers, etc.Ambiance: A complete fantasyService: Everyone was professional. The owner is humble, friendly, inviting and makes GREAT drinks! The drink list is behind the bar and the Watermelon Margarita that I had 4 of, was delicious and boozy. I didn't try the food, but I wish I had. It smelled really good and he was so pleasant. I got back outside too late to place the order. Definitely visiting again when I return to Raleigh! Thanks for such a memorable time, HOANC

The House of Art hosted St Nick Christmas house and it was really cool. Every room has a different theme and it was a great place to take lots of photos. The inside is completely covered in lights, decor, themes, and holiday cheer. Outside has a large patio and a cool seating surprise. Inside is a closet of board games and the tables outside are a good place to have some fun. There is a bar for holiday drinks and free sugar cookies. Good for all ages. I do think the house is older and especially outside you can tell this is a pop up event but over all I would recommend.

House of Art is a " social museum" that sits on the corner of what was once Black Wall Street on E. Hargett. I previously visited HOA when it first opened for their Pop Up Bar/ comedy night and loved it. Today I returned for the We The Roses 2-day music festival and had a wonderful time as well. The staff is always professional and kind each visit. The art rooms and patio are always gorgeously decorated and a joy to see. The theme was roses of course and a few of the pieces from Dreamville festival were still up from Drake's visit that weekend. We purchased tickets on Eventbrite for the We The Roses Festival and really enjoyed Duck & Edgewood heavy's band performance. The acoustics were perfect and everything was organized. We stuck around for drinks and to take a few cute pics in the art rooms. There is always something unique happening here. Love this place.

A band advertised on their IG that they would be performing live for two nights Friday and Saturday at We The Roses. I met the artist there but there wasn't any performance forcing me to consider paying for a second night. I feel the tickets were reasonable but after learning the band didn't play both days I was highly disappointed. Overall, the other performers were great! I enjoy this space here. I've seen the evolution of the bar and the space overall. I would love for the live music to be heard across the board even inside to have elevated "We The Roses" as festival vibes. The patio space was tight!

If you like a laid back vibe, with 90s hip hop and RnB....this is the place to be!! Found tickets for this location on eventbrite and wanted to check it out. The place is small, it I enjoyed that vibe! Many different rooms within the business provide instagram worthy backgrounds. They also have a bar for the alcohol drinkers out there. Many old school board games were offered as well. They do have an outdoor patio, but it was raining when we went so we didn't get a chance to sit outside. We had a blast! I can't wait to go back. I believe they also host comedy shows, music events and other things here as well.
