Hong Kong No. 1

I found this little hidden gem just down the street from where I was working on a job. Placed my order through Yelp and my order was confirmed by the restaurant. I showed up when Yelp said it was ready and there it was waiting for me. When I go to place for the first time , I always get Hunan Chicken with steamed rice and and egg roll. I like to see how well they actually cook and not deep fry things. Anybody can deep fry. When I removed the cover from the entree, it smelled delicious! It tasted even better. The steamed rice was perfect; soft but not soggy and sticky and it soaked up the Hunan sauce so well. The chicken was tendu and succulent and melted in my mouth. The veggie medley tasted fresh was was cooked beautifully! Not mushy, but nicely crunchy. The shrimp egg roll was also nicely done with the outside flaky and crunchy and the inside soft and chewy with lots of flavor. I don't give out 5 stars easily, but in the realm of shopping center Chinese food, this was as good as it gets! I'll be back when I'm in the area!

When it comes to takeout Chinese restaurants, I think Hong Kong #1 is one of the best in the area. With authentic flavors, high quality food and speedy service, Hong Kong #1 is always my go-to option when I want a quick Chinese meal.The food at Hong Kong is very consistent in terms of flavor and quality. I often find myself ordering the same thing every time I order because they do such a great job preparing the dishes that I love. I can attest that their chow fun, fried rice, and Szechuan tofu are fantastic. However, in my opinion, their shrimp and broccoli is always their go-to dish. Contrary to other takeout places, the broccoli is always fresh tasting, and crisp. It isn't soggy and limp like it has been sitting in sauce for over an hour. Also, the shrimp are just fantastic. The chef is never stingy about the shrimps, they are always massive, and in high quantity. Not only that, but the gravy that comes with the dish accompanies the rice very well. I would highly recommend this dish.The problem I have with Hong Kong is how they prepare some of their vegetables. Whether it be the string beans, the eggplant, or the home-style tofu, some of their dishes are just too sweet. Obviously, these flavors might appeal to a particular palate, but I definitely prefer my vegetables to be savory.Despite my complaint about the vegetables, I always know Hong Kong will come through on some of my personal favorites, and that is why I will continue to order from Hong Kong #1 many more times in the future.

Great food, consistently delicious. Even when you DoorDash, the food quality is still pretty good. Highly recommend ordering Hong Kong no.1 if you're craving Chinese. The chicken wings + pork fried rice is my go to combo

I haven't had Chinese food in a long time so I was looking forward to trying this place after reading the reviews.I stopped in to order (as opposed to calling it in) because I couldn't find a current menu online. The lady at the counter seemed pleasant. Impressed she didn't even write down my order. Food came out fast! I waited out in the car and it was probably 7-10min.I went with the Sesame Chicken lunch special, wanton soup and vegetable lo mein. Total was $15 and change. The food was pretty good... surprisingly, I felt like it could use some salt, mainly the pork fried rice. The sesame chicken was what I expected, sweet sticky sauce over crispy fried chicken. The lo mein was a little more (garlicky?) than I am used to but it was still good with fresh crisp veggies. I think my favorite was the wanton soup! It came with a decent number of wantons too! Portions were large. I ate my fill and there is still TONS left for another meal (or two!)

I was a little hesitant to try this one, but luckily my wife forced me to order from there. I'm so glad she did, because the prices are very good and the food is great. I like to order beef dishes, but often the meat is inedible but that's not the case here-every bite is tender not waste!One thing I will say is the egg rolls can be great, or they can be a very thick doughy texture-still a 5 star review though.

Horrible service..Horrible food...will never order food from this restaurant again. I ordered my food in the restaurant and the lady at the register waited to drop the chicken that I orderd until she served all of the patrons that walked into the restaurant after me. The wings had no flavor and the fried rice was simply NASTY!

I went to Hong Kong #1 today to place a pickup order and I was very disappointed with the service. The lunch specials end at 3pm and I came into the restaurant then but the workers were talking in the back and totally ignored that someone entered the restaurant. I announced loudly that I needed to order but no response. I almost had to go behind the counter for someone to finally realize I was there. By that time, it was after 3:00 and the cashier told me lunch was over. I told her I had been waiting over 5 minutes for someone to recognize me but she rudely said I could not get the lunch special, so I turned around and left. Little did she know that I was ordering for my football party and it was a very large order. I went to another Chinese restaurant and spent over $100+ which I would've spent at Hong Kong #1. This experience has lead me to find another Chinese restaurant with nicer employees and better customer service.

This is the best Chinese food that I have been able to find in the area. I haven't had any issue with my food or the stuff.. I'm always thanked for my purchased and never giving 'attitude'..

I would never recommend this place to anyone. They were extremely rude when I asked for more sauce they had gotten extremely mad and when i had gotten my food i saw spit on top very noticeable. If i could give 0 stars i would

The food is is addible, but prices have steadily increased and significantly over the past year almost every six or eight months I cannot recommend it based on the price.
