The store is clean and spacious. However, they don't offer as many products as Hong Kong in Bellaire. Staff was friendly and helpful. When ordering fresh fish, you should do that first, then walk around, do some shopping while waiting for your fish. Bc it can take almost 20-30mins to prepare one fish. Sometimes there's a line too but not as long as HongKong in Bellaire. Staff working behind seafood counter are nice. I asked for their advice once which fish is good for which dish and they helped me pick out the right one. There are a couple of security guys walking around or standing in the entrance of the market. Staff always wear masks and gloves. There's also plastic shields on cashier counters too.

Great variety. Huge clean store. We were just in town for the night and we grabbed aome quick things to make a dinner in our hotel room. We got drinks, desserts, rice dish, ramen and bao! It was perfect and cheaper than door dash!

I prefer the Hung Dong Food Market, but this is a family friendly website so let's skip that one.I was in the supermarket a few times and thought it was really cool that it was way down here past Gulfgate heading Southeast out of Houston in an area that you don't really associate with Chinatown. So if it's long gone then I will be kind of sad about that.I was just here recently and took this picture so I'm not so sure but I'll check next time I go to Bamboo or whatever.

The wifey and I really like Hong Kong Market. This location recently re-opened after a remodel or something along those lines. Opened back up on 11/10/18 if I remember correctly. We really like the tofu from here. The one we buy can be seen in the pics I took. The tofu always seems really fresh. I've always gravitated towards Asian cultures and cuisine ever since I was a kid. Mainly Japanese (being a fan of anime and Godzilla and what not). But other Asian cultures and food are fascinating as well of course. Hong Kong market is only the second place I've seen that sells my favorite coconut water "Foco roasted coconut juice". Most any place sells the regular one which is good as well. But the roasted one is great. Good stuff. They have a massive loose leaf tea selection. One of these days when I'm feeling up to it I will try one of the interesting ice cream flavors they sell. Purple yam flavored ice cream, red bean ice cream, corn with cheese ice cream. My wife claims the corn with cheese is pretty good surprisingly enough. When I see flavors like that she just tells me.....any food that may seem odd in dessert form, once sugar is added it's good. I'll take her word for it until I try it myself. I'll try the purple yam flavor maybe one day. They sell a soy sauce that I forgot the brand, but it's been around since 1948 or something like that. The Soy sauce company logo looks exactly like the rebel alliance logo. Surprised that in all these years the soy sauce company never sued over their logo being copied. Hong Kong market always has a strange smell. Very clean place but some herbs they sell or something causes the place to have some sort of strong odor that will occasionally trigger a migraine for me. Heads up for anyone who can't put up with strong odors for extended periods of time like me. But all in all I really like this place, the selection, and it's ambiance.

I've been coming here for years. There's a certain charm to this Asian supermarket. Spacious, no hassle, and a relaxed environment at this large grocery store. Fair prices and well stocked. A lot of items you can't find elsewhere in the local area. Their banana chips they sell at the kitchen area are the best sugary addictive treat. The drinkable konjac jelly pouches are also a fav, that can't be found elsewhere locally.

While this place I had what I was looking for the reason u give it a one star is because of the health hazard their fish has. There was a tank that said "Live Fish" and there was the tank with a few live fish, a few dying fish, and dead fish all in the same tank. No one was trying to take the dead ones out or anything. I only came for canned and frozen items and I'm glad that is all I needed. Never will I buy anything that the people here have ever touched or handle.

Going to Hong Kong Market was an introduction to one of the many culturesin Houston. It is not only a wonderful place to shop, it is a great place to experience one of the hidden treasures in Houston.

Hit and miss. Got nice live Dungeness Crab First time there. 2nd time the tank was near empty and Gross filthy Water and unhappy Dungies. There was a Table of Blue Crabs with a sign saying Live Crab!! Over 25% were DEAD upside down. A Very nasty place to get sick from. All tanks were dirty and near empty or extremely overcrowded and inhumane. Not very friendly unless maybe you are Chinese!

It's clean but they are lacking some basic products like a milk variety. Sale prices are great.

Excellent market with an extensive selection of seafood--live, fresh, and frozen. On occasion, they have stuff I can't find anywhere else, like live scallops.
