Hippo Burgers

I have been a fan of Hippo for several years going back to their original location in Humble. This outpost is their newest and is located directly beside Hwy. 6 N in a small strip center with adequate parking available in front. Inside its a counter service restaurant with a self serve drink machine.I ordered the Classic Burger with a side order of sweet potato fries and drink for about $13 with tax. This price was a la carte because Hippo doesn't offer combo deals. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes and I started with the sweet potato fries first. While they were a little limpy they still tasted rich in flavor. The burger, served upside down, was just as juicy and tasty as those served at their other locations. Delicious! I'm glad Hippo is able to keep their food at the same high quality no matter where you buy it. Hippo Burgers is easily on my Top 5 burger list in Houston. The beef patties are well seasoned, flavorful, dressed well and on a nice bun at a fair price. They prove that you can serve a quality hamburger for under $8.

New burger place close to my house! So we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is clean, especially the bathrooms. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Even though Hippo Burgers hasn't been open very long, they seem to have quite a few customers. The thing I don't like is the burgers! Yes, I know.. but they serve smash burgers and that's just not my thing. I like crunchy onions, crisp lettuce and fresh tomatoes, but when it's all smashed you just don't get any of that. So.. if you're a fan of this kind of burgers, come on down! The burgers are large, the fries are good. The shakes are very good, as well.

First time here and we loved it! I had the Hippo Cheeseburger and my husband had the Hippo BLT Burger and they were delicious! We will definitely be back!

Huge burgers. Awesome onion rings. I Have already been back for Round two! You willLove the buns!!

I ordered the regular 1/2 lb. cheeseburger, the BBQ cheeseburger, garlic fries, and onion rings.My daughter ate the BBQ cheeseburger and loved it. I was less impressed with mine, but I think it's because I prefer less meat - either 1/4 or 1/3 lb. is enough for me.The onion rings were excellent, and the garlic fries were good as well. The fries were a little soft, but that was probably due to it being a delivery order.Definitely worth another try.

Wow!! Better than any burger in Houston by far! I had the Bacon Cheeseburger, my wife had the Eggvolution Burger, and cheesy fries. We couldn't finish them in one setting, but I can't wait to have room to eat the rest of it! I'll never eat burgers from any gross major chain burger joints again. Thank you Hippo Burgers for an awesome burger experience! Also, on top of the amazing food, the service was excellent!!

if you are looking for a great homemade burger feel! this place is it! i came in today & it was my first time the menu is very easy to navigate. I ordered a bacon cheese burger with extra mayo because i love mayo!!! the burger had the prefect amount of seasoning!!!!! the fries were good & seasoned well also. the ambiance was good the music choice was good mixture of music. they also have tvs in the establishment. Like i said this was my first time & i thought the girl that took my order would've said hey welcome so this is our menu & went on to say what was popular but that did not happen :( other than that i would've given 5 stars if that happened, don't get me wrong she was nice & welcoming. if i'm ever on this side of town i'll be back to fry some food they do have drive thru!!!

If you want a messy specialty burger this is the place. I loved how messy the burger was. Flavor came from the meat patty. I can see why some individuals would think it's salty but which all the condiments it really complimented it. My only one criticism is the fries were a bit too mushy for my taste. But they're seasoned and good. Service was great. I like it when you can ask someone what their thoughts on the menu are and what they recommend. Especially when she seemed sincere in wanting to share what's best seller etc. They bring your meal to the table after ordering. Place is cute, simple. Not very large. But clean. They also have jalapeño ketchup at the tables which is a win in my book. It wasn't busy for weekday lunch.I'd go again and try something else bc my burger was delish and leads me to believe the others might be too.

We've been three times the first time the burgers were too salty. Second and third times we told them lightly salted been perfect ever since the only drawback is that we take our food to go and they put them in a nice container, except the toasted buns become soft by the time you get them home as they continue to steam in the heat.Best onion rings weve ever had !!Best burger in the area , way above any fast food .Fresh hand, flatten Patty sesame seed buns .

As we walked in the lady at the counter was very pleasant and accommodating, explained everything I asked about lol. I ordered the blue burger which comes with blue cheese and bacon, and hubby ordered one with jalapeño and bacon. He also ordered some lemon pepper wings. Everything was well seasoned and yummy to my tummy, especially because I've been doing really good on my diet and working out. What's one cheat day anyway! The restaurant itself is not too big and not too small. I personally do not like sitting near any restrooms,and this one had a lingering odor in which I wanted no parts of, so we sat near the front. The food was pretty good, and tasty and I would recommend to others.
