Food was amazing!!! Kudos to the chef. Food was amazing from fried fish and green beans to chicken fried steak. Good wholesome cooking. Just the way mama made it. The ambiance was very welcoming had that country small town feel. Just a small ways off the freeway worth the drive.

The Welcome. We entered this restaurant to a smile and a genuine greeting. Loved that! If they were told to greet each customer you would have never guessed they meant it.The Menu . The choices seem endless. Lots of different things to choose from which just makes me want to go back.The food I ordered chicken fried chicken and my companion ordered chicken fried steak and we shared. They were both crispy and good and not at all greasy. I got line with charro beans (yum) and mashed potatoes. Standard fair and well made.I'll be back to this place. I wanna try their Philly.

Totally a hidden gem at this place. If your craving great home cooking then this is the place. They have daily specials and I highly recommend them. Also they got pork rinds so make sure you grab a big ass bag of them. The people here are adorable, I fell hard for this place and looking forward to going back real soon. Oh and the sweet tea is on point.

Another great local eatery. The staff is friendly, portions are big and you'll recognize everyone around. Wharton is proud to have them around!

If you like liver and onions this is a great place to get it. Not to many places serve liver and onions.Service was great people were friendly

First time eating here. Food was well prepared and they had lots of options for vegetables. Fish was well made with good tarter sauce. Great onion rings.

Good food, big portions, friendly staff. Worth the drive from Houston. Our group of 6 all enjoyed our lunch and, then, cake time! Don't skip dessert!

I used to go here before the main location burned down and the food was so good, plus the restaurant had a large tree in the middle of it. I glad to see the change of location did not affect their bar b que. They are smaller now but you still get the same great service, food and even though the tree is gone, it still has a family atmosphere. Nice place to stop for some ribs.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Was in town for a quick trip and stopped in for lunch. Staff was very friendly and helpful since I had not been there before. A young kid took my order and was refreshing how nice he was and giving recommendations. I ordered chicken fried chicken. It would rate as one of the best I've had. Very juicy, obviously cooked fresh and a nice size chicken breast. Not a small thin piece like you get at some places. Cute, country cafe. Nice and clean. Staff walking around as you ate to see if you needed anything else.
