Amazing fried chicken sandwiches on what had to be homemade bread. The chicken had a perfect crunchy breading that was similar to schnitzel. We were in love. Their homemade dressing was finger licking yummy. The other item we'd say not to skip is their kale Caesar salad. Honestly, one of the best kale Caesar's I've ever had. Service and ambiance are delightful. It has a cool modern cafe vibe which made it the perfect elevated sandwich spot for us. Would absolutely come back!

Staff and atmosphere was amazing, but was really underwhelmed by the food. The roast chicken, schmaltzy toast, garlic confit jus, herb salad was particularly really disappointing. Chicken leg was the blandest chicken I've been served at a restaurant :( Really cute spot though. Nice atmosphere, beautiful building, a large window to look into the kitchen. I'd give this place another try though especially for brunch. I did enjoy the tomato, caper, breadcrumb salad and this fermented bean with cheese dish. The wait staff and host were extremely kind and happy to explain/recommend any dishes as well.

I went to High Street Philadelphia for brunch. We didn't have reservations but they were able to accommodate us at the bar and seat us right away. However, I'd recommend going in with a reservation if you prefer an actual table. The restaurant has a very clean and modern look and the staff is very attentive and can offer good recommendations to their menu. We got their pastries to share. The pastries are very large and good, however, I would say they are a little on the dry side and too sweet. The cardamom roll was the best. My lower rating is that while this place has good food, the pricing is a little too high for what you get in my opinion. I'm glad I went but I don't think my experience was memorable enough to return.

We popped in here during a slow holiday weekend and grabbed seats at the bar. It was hard to flag down a server/bartender but eventually we did. We ordered 2 breakfast croissants with ham. They arrived quickly but without the ham :-( Then we had trouble agin flagging down someone to help us get the ham we ordered. They acted somewhat annoyed when we told them we didn't want them to remake the sandwiches (I do not like wasting food!) and Instead bring the ham out as a side and we could put it on the sandwich. It took just as long for them to bring out the ham as it did for them to make the sandwich which felt odd.The sandwiches were incredible and I would give the food 5 stars but the service was good awful. Maybe because it was a holiday weekend... so don't go unless you have over an hour to dine. It's slow.

Stopped by for brunch. Chicories salad was good, though heavily dressed so maybe ask them to go lightly. Pizzas are fab- loved the red sauce on the jersey tomato. The burrata and green tomato was tasty, too, with a generous amount of toppings, though I didn't notice any lemon verbena. Nice choice with friends who like to share.

The menu gad good ideas and decent flavors but poorly executed. In particular the bean and feta situation had good flavor combos but the beans were just raw, the dish was overwhelmed with oil and I couldn't finish it. Pretty and clean place with good service though.

We hadn't been to High Street since it was back on Market Street, and honestly felt that the new location brought a new level of energy and appeal. A fun spot to grab dinner and drinks in the city. There atmosphere here is just a total catch. They've got a great music playlist, and both beautiful and comfortable decor, that blends modern and rich details. If you aren't immediately captivated by their beautiful bar, it won't be long until your nose drags you in the direction of their fresh baked bread/pastries. We were a party of 4, and had no issues just filling our table with appetizers. Their menu boasts a great variety of both meat-eating and vegetarian options. From creative salads, to handhelds...each dish was prepared thoughtfully and packed a ton of flavor. Now, I am no leaving here with any impression of there being a "best bite in the city," but the execution was solid and consistent. You can tell they carefully curate the menu and ingredients. Our waitress was also very nice nice, and helped guide us through portioning with the amount we ordered. I can't forget to mention, we really enjoyed our drinks. It was a cold, snowy night, and they have hot-toddy's that just slap! I definitely want to go back here to try their hoagies or brunch, but if you catch yourself with an empty belly, walking by High Street, definitely pop in and try it out!

Was looking for places on Yelp for a reben and found this place. Was nearby, so I stopped in and ordered the Reuben.I think this store occupied two places. A small store and next to it a restaurant. I stopped by earlier in the day, so the restaurant portion wasn't open yet. It was a two table small storefront with place to order and two refrigerator units with beverages.Reuben came out fast. It was plenty big and the bread was hot and crispy. However, the taste just wasn't there. It wasn't as flavorful, as I hoped for. It was just okay.

Love High Street Philadelphia's new space on 9th Street: plenty of clean lines and light due to its corner location! Also love that reservations are now available--so much easier to book a business lunch for a small group! We were hoping for the ricotta bread board, but were satisfied with our starting nibbles, sharing a maple scone and an apple galette--such lovely, crumbly pastry and well-seasoned apples!Everyone enjoyed their lunch: we ranged from the grilled happy valley burger (vermont cheddar, b&b pickles, grilled onion, dijon aioli, fries) to the tahini kale caesar (baguette croutons, toasted seeds, parmesan, add grilled chicken). I enjoyed the pastrami reuben (sauerkraut, Russian dressing, gruyere), which came with half a hard-boiled egg dyed purple like the sauerkraut--a nice visual touch. The other menu item ordered and enjoyed was the olive-oil poached tuna salad (little gem, olives, hard boiled egg, potato, roasted peppers, dijon vinaigrette).Service was friendly--appreciated Ellen Yin stopping by to check in on us. Looking forward to my next meal at High Street Philadelphia (and, perhaps, a croissant and some more pastry!)!

Got the roast pork sandwich and it was DELICIOUS! Everything about it was great -- from the seeded bun to the roasted pork (such big portions!) and the broccoli rabe. The bun lightly soaked up some of the roasted pork juice and it was just enough that it wasn't soggy. I would definitely be back! Their pastries looked good too.
