Huge disappointment!Food: 3/5 Premium quality / unique fish from Japan. They try to showcase a variety of fish sourced from different regions of Japan. Unfortunately, some of the toppings such as " truffle butter" "chili garlic" overpower the taste of the fish. Also, they suggested we eat each piece right when it's served to taste it at the best temperature, yet, one of the nigiri required to be " torched" and there was only one torch available so the nigiri has been sitting there in front of us for a good five minutes before it can served. Service: 2/5 We went in for the 6:30 seating. The next seating is at 9pm. Toward the last 2 to three pieces we started feeling rushed 1. They started pouring larger and larger pours of alcohol we brought ( this is a BYOB restaurant) into our glasses 2. The check came out THE SAME TIME with the dessert. Yup. " Here's your last course, and here's your check" Other guests noticed it too and asked if they have another group coming in, that's how we found out we were being kicked out so they can get ready for the next seating. In the end, we were not able to finish the wine we brought, plus they TURNED ON THE LIGHTS " Ladies and gentlemen, party time over! Club Hidden is now closed let's go let's go" It is uncommon for omakase restaurants to serve two groups per night but I have never felt so rushed, highly recommend they work on better time management. Ambiance: 2/5 For the same reason above. I went there expecting a omakase dining experience not a night club

Been looking forward to this place for a long time, very pleased with my experience and one of the best meals I've had in 2023.The name doesn't lie, it's tucked away in a shopping strip center, inside features a very intimate (yet spacious) setting with bar-style seating. 15 course menu with a la carte options, BYOB (with a corking fee), it's a bit on the pricier side and we did several add-ons (pictures). Our host/hostess were very friendly and engaging, ensuring our sake were filled throughout the evening and we were delighted they joined us in several toasts. I enjoyed the fish selections and the explanation of each dish, each bite tasted fresh and the presentation is probably one of the best I've seen in HoustonOverall, one of the more memorable Omakase experiences I've had, worth a visit for a special occasion! The price tag is a bit hefty with the add-on charges/fees but it's a vibe.

This is one of those reviews that I hate to write because of the asterisk*.Is this one of the best meals I have ever had? Yes!Was the service amazing? Yes!Was the vibes superb? Yes!Then why not a perfect 5 stars? The price*. We knew the price going in, as the only way to get a reservation is via Resy, where you do have to put down a credit card and if you don't show they do charge you the full $175 per person. So you are warned of the steep price tag up front. You are no where near suprised. My only thing that did get me is they do not have a liquor license due to a school being near by. It is BYOB. I must have skipped over that line so be warned and come prepared. As far as the fish, everything was super fresh and unique. Did I leave full? Actually, yes, with all the rounds of food, I was quite full. I had always been told you walk away craving more food. I felt it was definitely enough.Would I come back again? Probaby not, how about if someone else was paying for it, HELL YEAH!If you never experienced Omakase, and you have something to celebrate, this is the place. If you just ballin', yeah come here. If you broke, there are other options I would suggest trying first. Even one of the sushi chefs, recommended Sushi By Hidden, which provides a quick Omakase, for about 1/3 of the price. We plan on going there soon to compare. Review to follow.

Came here for my birthday and it was an amazing experience! I loved how intimate and welcoming the place was. They explained each course while simultaneously bringing out the fish to show us. The fish that was on our menu were quite unique and prepared really well with the flavor profiles. A good combo of complexity of flavors while letting the fish still shine. Would recommend for any special occasion or a date night :)

I went to their collaboration event with Sweet Bribery. Everything was so delicious that I wish I had more servings! I loved the Bread Service ice cream; tasted just like fresh rosemary bread with olive oil! The Kinmedai was so tasty! Love that Thai fish sauce flavor! The Pho Braised Pork Belly was superb! It was a nice little lettuce wrap. I enjoyed the cotija cocktail. So fun! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and Sweet Bribery!

I thought the food here was fantastic! The fish portions are very nice sized, and it's a very filling meal overall. Compared to 5kinokawa, there's a lot less engagement with / stories from the chefs, if you're looking for that aspect.I accidentally dropped one of my dishes on the ground and they gave me a new one--so sweet but I was super embarrassed. I'd recommend using your fingers instead of chopsticks if you're ungraceful like me. The only thing that would keep me coming back regularly is the price. It's $175 per person. You do get 15 filling courses, but it's a hefty price tag. Also they are BYOL but their corking fee is $20, which is also on the high side. The ambiance is fine overall. I did notice kind of a mildewy smell when we entered--I couldn't figure out what it was. Otherwise I have to say the food truly was fantastic. Very nigiri-heavy if you're into that. And of course not fishy in the slightest.

Omakase means "I leave it up to you" and in a tradional sense it is when the chef selects fish to serve their customers (look this up yourself if you doubt me). So this means you are going to expect mainly sashimi and nigiri. If this is what you are looking for, Hidden Omakase is meant fo you. If you are looking for a fusion hodge podge of dishes instead of a more traditional authentic experience, then feel free to look into Roka Akor :) My husband and I had a famtastic time at Hidden Omakase. The ambiance was very chill and so was our chef. He created a pleasant and fun experience, learning about each fish selection and the differences between each fish and dish. What we liked about Hidden Omakase is that you get a good variety of fish outside of the typical salmon, tuna, and yellow tail you'd find at a typical sushi restaurant - and this is what you pay for. Their fish is fresh, very comparable to what we have had when my husband and I had when we were in Japan a few months ago.You get twists of flavors and there is an obvious inspiration of Thai flavors which only add to each dish. Presentation is nothing short of fantastic. The only average dish was the tom yum style noodles, served in a ramen-style with a soft yolk egg and minced beef. As a Thai person, I can see what they were going for and can appreciate it. Sure taste isn't authentic but the dish itself was still tasty and good. You get two shots of sake included in your meal that they made in-house that was so good, too! Very sweet and smooth and paired nicely with the meal.Even the desert at the end was fantastic and delicious. My husband and I left very full and satisfied. Overall, not a bad way to spend our money and time. Will definitely come back and highly recommend other sushi officiandos to give this place a shot as well!

Worth every penny. Great for surprises and special occasions if you're willing to plan ahead, not so much a spur-of the moment type date. My husband set an alarm to make a reservation while I was out of town. He gets all the brownie points for this birthday surprise! We were given a welcome-sake drink to start but otherwise it's byob with a corking fee. It was course after course of deliciousness and they kept our allergies in mind too. There was only one course that was differently made for us, but we didn't feel like we missed out on the experience. I highly recommend this for special occasions. So fresh. So tasty. So original. Chef's kiss

We had the pleasure of dining here on Valentine's Day and had a phenomenal time. There was nothing cookie cutter about the experience. The chefs are interactive, the owner supports her staff, and there was a unique personal touch that you really don't find many other places. Everything from the selection of fish to the complementary champagne, roses for the ladies, and shots we shared with the staff made our Valentine's Day special. The personal touch felt genuine like each member of the staff cared and not like they're just paid to be nice. They care about the food they serve and they know their trade. We enjoyed great conversation, stories, food, drink, and laughs. Thanks again for what y'all do!
