As a City worker, I'm always looking for deals I can snag using my City ID. This week, for our return back to the office full time, Hi-Lo was kind enough to offer a 10% discount. Hi-Lo is located right on the corner of Walnut Street, next to Scoop Deville. Since I was using my ID, I walked in and placed my to-go order with the host. My food was ready in about 10 minutes. I ordered two tacos and a side of jalapeño-lime slaw. Not only did everything look amazing, but the flavor was out of this world! Jalapeño lime slaw was slightly spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. It had crunchy fried onions on top and was a refreshing side to enjoy with my tacos. The mushroom asada taco was unreal! The smoky flavor was on point. I also enjoyed the queso fresco and rice mixture in the cauliflower tinga taco. The tortillas were soft and buttery. Both tacos exceeded my expectations. I'm glad I got to experience Hi-Lo! I'll be back for Happy Hour soon, and would also be interested in trying a bowl from their menu.

FOODWe swung by around 4 pm and ordered a mix between the happy hour and regular menus. I had the guajillo BBQ chicken and chicken fajita tacos. The BBQ taco was the perfect mix of sweet and savory and one I'd definitely get again if returning. The chicken fajita wasn't my favorite-- a little mellower on the flavor side and heavier than the former. Finally, the jumbo wings were equally sweet and savory as its taco counterpart. The ranch complemented the wings perfectly.DRINKSWe ordered the margarita ($5 during happy hour), and it packed a punch! Definitely recommend getting one when stopping by.SERVICEThe staff are kind and friendly.AMBIANCEThe interior is very neat and modern. With the front of the store relatively small, I was surprised to see how expansive the establishment actually was when we stepped in. The high ceilings add to the spaciousness of the place as well.PARKINGPaid street parking is available at a limited capacity. Parking garages are also located nearby.

It has been a little while since I have been here, however my experience felt like it was just yesterday. Today was a very much needed BFF lunch. "Liam" is kind and knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients to answer questions. My Girlfriend had a breakfast taco: mushrooms and egg the signature corn tortillas. Yes, breakfast tacos!I had a grilled mahi and a mushroom taco. The mushroom tacos are a must have. These are not your ordinary mushrooms. These are sourced locally. Both of our orders were prepared without dairy. The guacamole is "Fresh" and delicious. The tortillas are served with warm and crunchy. Comfortable and spacious seating. This was my girlfriend's first dining experience, but not her last. I had the pleasure of speaking with Lauren again and Leah, looked after us along with Liam. The fryers are gluten free and GF funnel cake is now available. My friend's daughter has a gluten allergy so she cannot wait to bring her here. The Hibiscus drink is my favorite!Thank you for another great experience.

Hi-Lo is wonderful and solidly in my lunch rotation at this point. The tacos are great, and two make for a solid lunch imho which cannot be said of many taco places. I'd love to make it here for happy hour, but lunch is my main track and so far, we're able to get a table here without fuss but it's always active (a good sign). The menu changes, which I like, and keeps things interesting.

Finally, tacos with flavor! Hi Lo tacos are amazing. They offer the option to get just one taco, which gives me the chance to try different flavors. They also serve breakfast tacos all day, so I'll definitely be back to try those. I tried the two shrimp taco options, and every bite was delicious. The Spicy Matcha Shrimp is a must try with the perfect amount of spice and well balanced toppings. The Crispy Cajun Shrimp was flavorful and crunchy, though I wish it came with avocado like the Spicy Matcha Shrimp. The place is clean, and the service is efficient. These are definitely some of the most flavorful tacos I've had at a Philly restaurant in a while.

Interesting vibe for a taco place. The menu also quite interesting, offering up some twists on the usual flare for tacos. The pork taco was standard, what you would expect. The highlight, however, are the fish options. The cod was great, wonderful texture and the sauce on top was thoroughly enjoyed. The mushroom asada taco is not something we typically would've ordered but greatly enjoyed. Appreciate when tacos are not double-wrapped, which these were not. I'm not sure if this is an everyday offering as it isn't on the drink menu but we were offered a pitcher of margaritas for $22, which was a pretty good price for the amount we got.Would get take-out or come back to try some more of the offerings.

My friends and I came here because we wanted tacos and margs, and it's in a central location for all of us. We were happy to see that they have Happy Hour every day that they're open- a lot of places only have it M-Th. We got chips and queso, and the Spicy Macha wings to share. I thought the chips and queso were fine, but the wings were definitely a hit. Some of the best wings I've ever had. Margaritas were solid and a good happy hour deal. For the tacos, I got the pulled pork taco and steak fajita taco. The pulled pork taco was ok, but the steak fajita taco was the standout. So simple but very flavorful. It all came out to less than $30 each, which is a pretty good deal for as much food as we ordered. I will be coming back!

Outstanding!! Seriously. Saw this place had good reviews, was intrigued by the menu (and solid happy hour menu) and absolutely was not disappointed. I would go here everyday if i could! Mahi Mahi was our favorite, Mushroom Asada was shockingly delicious, and none disappointed honestly. Also best salad to pair with it all, highly recommend the lime vinaigrette. Cheers!

Thanks to Reddit for letting me know about this place, an easy walk from my PATCO train stop. One day on the way home, I decided to pop in to try it out for happy hour. I opted to go for the $10 smoked bbq wings with a $4 side of rice and beans - I'm Asian, I'll take rice wherever I can with chicken, LOL. While the menu describes the wings as "jumbo", I'd really classify it more as "meaty." Loved the slightly sticky sweet flavor, and the ranch with a touch of Maggi sauce was unusual and appreciated. The rice was a bit dry, but overall enjoyed everything delivered to the table.Easy, chill vibe in here, bright and airy and not too loud.Service was really friendly and nice.
