Came here for the longan. Bought 6lbs. Super fresh. Told the gentleman outside how much I needed and he bagged it for me. Went inside to pay. $4/lb when you buy at least 3 pounds

They offer a variety of affordable products and have staff all around the market that are able to help you find what you are looking for.

My go-to place in Chinatown for produce at affordable prices. They have a variety of fruits in umbrella-covered stands outside the store. Inside you'll find more produce, a refrigerated/freezer section, a butcher stand, and a fish stand. Downstairs are snacks and nonperishable goods. This place is always busy and packed. They have a minimum purchase requirement if you're using any time of card, so bring cash if you're making a purchase of less than $10.

This is an extremely busy and crowded market on a Sunday. All during an open but semi-relaxed period during Covid! But I got my vaccine and I'm double masked, let's give it a try. Here we go....This market has everything thing you need starting outside on both sides of the building to deep inside. There are so many things best purchased in China Town such as fruits and vegetables. Because of the parking situation in this area I keep my time limited to 1 hour. So half hour to 'look'', shop and 15-20 in line to pay. Actually the lines move fairly quickly. While shopping for fruit and vegetables things I'm unfamiliar with I make Google my friend! Shopping here is a fast paced, organized chaos, extremely fascinating whirlwind experience. Now it's not clean like a large retail grocer but I can work with it. Im giving dragon fruit a try this week, next week it will be the yellow 'Korean' melon as it was listed. It's really a crazy pace but worth a try since Chinatown has so much to offer. This place is reminiscent of China meets New York City both places a must visit location!

Don't forget to go downstairs! This market has a deceptively large selection of both fresh meats and produce on the ground floor but also a huge amount of non-perishable foods in the basement. I'm not a discerning connoisseur of imported Chinese groceries but this place definitely covers a lot of ground and I'm guessing if it's something that Chinese grocery stores carry it will almost certainly be here and for quite a good price.I bought a few snacks and treats to take home in addition to some fruit and it's all stuff I've never had before. The only downside is that this place is compact and crowded which can be unnerving during COVID but almost everyone was wearing masks. Definitely recommend, even if you don't plan to buy anything it's quite interesting just to browse around.

Heng Fa Market on 10th Street in Chinatown is a relatively small shop specializing as a green grocer, butcher and fish monger. No canned goods here. Everything looked fresh and well maintained. Prices were better than the Asia basement store, and the crowded aisles we're ample proof. There are only handheld baskets as there is no room for shopping carts. That limits how much you can buy in one visit unless you come with a team to help carry your take. There is constant bumping into folks, and the floor around the seafood department is always damp, so some caution is required. But, the jostling is worthwhile to secure the quality goods offered here. Just be sure to secure your wallet because there is more than one type of fishing going on. We picked up meat, veggies and eggs ($3.50 for 3 doz. XLs!), paying much less than in the aforementioned dungeon. The cashier line runs up the vegetable aisle, so you can imagine the low level confusion going on. Still, if you enjoy interacting with humanity the experience was almost enjoyable. Just glad we weren't running for a bus.

Be aware when you buy packaged meat in this market!! They may cover fresh meat on top of bad meat!!!The beef slices looks quite good when I purchased it. When I opened it at home, the frozen slices immediately separates into two layers! On top it is the fresh beef slices; on the bottom where you cannot see from outside is some meat clearly different from the top layer, with dark spots and sticking to each other forming an unnatural rectangular meat block! Looks like those on the bottom have been frozen and unfrozen many times!

The boss accusing me a liar if I don't bring back the meat, even if it's rotten to get my refund. The meat smells horrible, very slimy and you can tell from two of the pictures that turned yellow. I had bought from them three times before but never ever again, very poor service.

Much cheaper than grocers like H-Mart. Being here feels like being in China. Great prices on meat. Great premade sauces/spices imported from China. Authentic flavor. Long lines but they move quickly.
