Hebert's Specialty Meats

This place is quite the local legend that needs to be visited for any cajun or southern enthusiast. This time around, my wife and I decided to order food from their inhouse cafe. We got their daily special Jambalaya and their crawfish and stuffed chicken etouffee . Both of which is absolutely delicious! However, the best part of this place is its endless selection of Cajun/southern inspired butchery. Loaded with freezers and coolers, there are many selections to spice up your next bbq with something unique. Stuffed duck, stuffed chicken, stuffed pork, meat pies, turduckens just to name a few things. Pricing is reasonable but still on the higher end. Logical as you should pay for unique products.The staffing there remain cordial, but not overwhelming "nice". Its more of a "get in and get out" place. They're not much talkers. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

THR STUFF CHICKEN IS AMAZING!!!! I always come in November to grab a few for Friendsgiving. They always have what i need! You can never go wrong with grabbing and of their selections of meats!

Changed plans for winter break and swung by Hebert's Meat Market for a quick meal. The deboned chicken stuffed with cornbread dressing was good, but the dressing was too moist for our liking. Green beans and corn sides were not our favorites. However, the boudin balls were spot on with a perfect meat to rice ratio. Also tried the chicken Diablo by mistake and was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely be back for the appetizers.

I haven't been to Herbert's in years. Location is close to my hair salon. I decided to stop and picked a few items . I love the have gumbo stock , I can add my own meat. Also purchased stuff shrimp and boudin balls. My only negative comment is rep doesn't acknowledge costumers entering the store.

Please let me know what yall think about Herbert's debonded turkey stuffed with their cornbread dressing. Does it taste like Thanksgiving? I'm hoping to know before I serve it to family. I read the ingredients which lists a good bit of meat content. I bought a separate package of it to taste ahead. It tastes good. But what's it like in a turkey? I hit all stars because I can't post a question without stars.

One of my all time favorite places to buy prepared foods and meats. Will has been helping me for YEARS AND THAT just adds to the experience.

This is the go-to destination for stuffed, debunked poultry, especially the legendary turducken. A no-nonsense location with efficient, pleasant staff, its space consists mainly of large refrigerator cases, one for frozen birds, the other for unfrozen. Prices are reasonable. Their fresh sausage, boudin and especially boudin balls are excellent as well.

2 Stars for bad service. I know we are in the mist of this horrible time with this Coronavirus but please, let's try and have some patience and get through this together. First time there and I had been wanting to go in this place for a while now. I pass it each time I head to Costco. This time, I made a point to go in because of all the shortage of meats in the grocery store. Wasn't sure what to expect but when I arrived and went inside, it was pretty bare and that was no surprise. I fully expected to see that however, I was not even been greeted by the little person in all black that was too busy with boxes to even look up at me. And I'm the only one in this store. Again, I know it's a crazy time but hey, I was there to purchase some meat and really needed the help. I didn't see anyone else working the store either. This person disappeared in the back and I disappeared back in my car. Oh well. Perhaps when this Coronavirus virus is all over with, they will magically have better service.

Fun shopping; perhaps the best cajun culinary shopping experience in the Gulf Coast. Great flavors - fair value.

They have a very big selection of Beef Satay, Stuffed Quail, Alligator, Crawfish Pies, DeBoned Chicken, Craklin', Andouille sausage, Stuffed Potato casserole, Rice dressing, Shrimp dressing, crawfish tails and more. If you need a little help they even provide cooking directions on their menu how to reheat or cook the meals desired. Do not forget about the deserts!!! Now all you need is a little zydeco music, refreshments and the party is on.
