Heave Ho is my go to roaster for fresh coffee beans. Unlike other places where they deceptively use "best by" date, Heave Ho includes the date that the beans were roasted instead which is a much better indicator to gauge freshness. Coffee beans are roasted on site, can't get any more fresh than that! Especially if you order a drink and enjoy in their nice seating area. Great customer service and extremely knowledgeable. Gave me some pointers on how to improve my espresso pulls at home and even pulled a shot for me so I could use it as a reference point.

After reading the one-star reviews, I decided to call this place before I stopped by. Someone answered, hello? and I stated I was just checking if they were open before I drove up.The shop is in an industrial lot, and even though the GPS was on and the address clearly on the web page, I was eyeballing it to see if I could find it easily. Well, I drove around a few times, but you will find it if you spot the 2240 on the building. I walked up, and there were a few employees busy doing coffee bag lifting , roasting, order fulfilling and stuff.I was greeted right away, I didn't catch his name because I am bad at that. But he was really nice and patient as I looked over the menu. He mentioned that they came in second place in a local article for best coffee in Chula Vista. I asked, "Who was first?" Grindhouse? He said, "No! they beat them - it was Rambler Cafe that came in first." Hmmm, we were surprised at that one, but they are good too. He mentioned plans in the making for a shop with baked goods in Imperial Beach and Coronado. Best of luck to you! I love indie coffee shops.Today, I ordered the Vanilla Bean on ice with oat milk. It was $6, so I think the menu pricing is a bit outdated. The coffee was smooth and not too strong, not sickeningly sweet. I enjoyed it very much, and will try the other items when I'm in town.

Great coffee -- good variety of beans & roasts. Great service, too. This is a South Bay hidden gem. Looking forward to coming back.

Amazing coffee sourced from southern Mexico! 100% organic and 100% natural, can't beat it. Very aromatic and you can really taste the freshness and high quality of these coffee beans. Had the privilege of meeting Patrick, owner of Heave Ho, on the coffee tour and he's super friendly, knowledgeable, talented, and awesome! He gave me a little tour of his roaster too and his operation. Lots of hard work goes into a good cup of coffee! Check out his roaster/coffee shop and give Heave Ho some love. You won't be disappointed. He also helps roast and sell "Broken Rib Coffee" which 100% proceeds go to help Baja Bound, an organization that builds homes for working poor in Baja; Baja Education Initiative, an organization that raises scholarship money for kids to go to school; and Casa Alegra, an orphanage in Chiapas. Amazing coffee, amazing people, doing amazing work. Go support Heave Ho, try their coffee, share with loved ones, and gift loved ones and coffee lovers with delicious bags of coffee that is doing good in this world! Definitely will be back! Thanks for the great coffee and labor of love, Heave Ho!

Guys, it's worth finding this little spot here in Chula Vista. It's tucked away in the last building of this business park. Might take some effort but you'll see the sign! Coffee is tasty and at a good price. Got us a couple of those honey lavender lattes that were delicious. Will be returning.

Hidden gem- thank you Yelpers! I've been searching fruitlessly for a good flat white for a few weeks. I wanted the taste of the kind you can get in France and I feel like a lot of the coffee here just tastes burnt.Well today my coffee wish came true. I actually go to this industrial park regularly for work but I had no idea this coffee place was there, just a few doors down from the unit I'm usually visiting. My loss! It's a little hidden from the main road but super easy to get to. If you're coming east off the 5, it's the first parking lot/ set of buildings on your left. Turn left as you enter the parking lot and then first right into the first row of parking you see between the two buildings, and it's about halfway down on the left. The service was really friendly and the coffee is sooo good and smooth! My afternoon is looking much better thanks to them. :)

Honest coffee. This coffee shop is in the back of a factory typed alleyway (Gotta drive back a bit). The aesthetics are something to be in awe of. The entrance is "cute" according to my wife. The owner knows his coffee and gets his beans straight from the source down in South America. You should make your way down here. Go out of the way for this spot. Great flavored water here.

This place is really small and easy to miss and especially hard to find on Apple Maps. It's big inside though! Lots of merch. The service is nice too. My fed dirty chai was delicious

I don't know how this is a business because generally to run a business, you need to be open.I have HEARD that the best dirty chai in town is here. I have HEARD the coffee is excellent.Online says they are open until 2pm. This is inaccurate. I have been here at 11:30am, and 1pm, and each time, they have been closed. I am no longer going to try to go here, and I am going to urge anyone I know to avoid the place and also wasting their time.
